Knowing Mowzie, the fossil monster (as well as the sand creature and monolith) could peak his interest if it was expanded upon to be made with interesting, original and ambitious mechanics; just look some of the other ideas people have posted and Mowzie ended up liking, like the Phoben (can't wait to see him, btw XD)!
In terms of the Monoliths, it's definitely very cool, but seeing how the player would have to fight three other powerful mobs to acquire the rest of the pieces (Mowzie's call) I feel that it would be a bit too much; having to fight three rare mobs and then search for the Monoliths. I could be wrong, though.
I feel like the frostmaw's model needs to be updated. It doesn't fit in with the models of the barakoa, foliath, etc. The 2D antlers and teeth really take away from the majesty of the frostmaw.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to report this, but i encountered a bug with the latest version. I was using the ice crystal quite alot and suddenly it wouldnot stop. i could not use commands and when i exited, it crashed my game.

This is easily the best mod even though I would think the earth talisman needs some upgrades also I'm not sure if this is a bug or something but when I shoot the ferrous' with a sun beam it shows up a Mario sorta format thingie and also sometimes when I use the Earth Talisman it doesn't work and the boulder doesn't summon instead a drum sorta sound comes up i checked in my inventory and it said i have slowness for 0:00 seconds. Other than those things this is easily the BEST mod ever and I won't mind getting lots more mobz in the future
Maybe there could be a way to combine the two aspects? Like, the player would have to challenge the Monkey Guru to a duel, but the battle arena would involve a lot of geomancy, with pillars of earth raising and blocks floating in the air in which the player could jump on to attack the mob?
Good idea! In that case, maybe the battle could take place in the sky! Like on a small floating island with a dojo and some cherry trees. The arena itself could be located at the center of the island, made of blocks that float over a hole straight through the island. Throughout the battle, the Monkey Guru will use geomancy to take blocks from the arena and use them for his attacks, creating hazards for the player to fall out of the arena and die. For gameplay purposes, these blocks could respawn after a period of time to prevent the Monkey Guru from completely destroying the arena. I'm just throwing around ideas XD
In terms of the swing attack, that would work very well with the idea of the arena style you had!
I'm glad you like them! And I can't wait to see what you'll do with them!
This sounds better and better. It will be very difficult to program, but I think it's doable.
Maybe you could implement all these geomancy mobs and have each one drop a fragment of the talisman. Perhaps the most powerful ones like the golem and the monkey guru could drop fragments that can already do something and give you an advantage when fighting another, kind of like in Megaman.
Something like this would make sense. However, the geomancy ability is a status effect, so you'd get all of its powers at once when you complete it. I'll think about this.
I have a Suggestion for a dungeon in a EXTREME hills biome , it would be a large castle stronghold mostly buried under ground. It is the FERROUS FORTRESS, a castle lined with iron blocks, ripped up banners, empty furnaces, old armor stands ,and chests of swords and armor but the toughest opponents lie here. Like ferrous wroughtnauts, strong holders, and swarms of silverfish. Then after walking around through many rooms and armories, you find a large throne room with stained glass windows.
BOSS FIGHT! :
The IRON IMPERATOR (or IMMOVABLE IMPERATOR, INDOMITABLE IMPERATOR, or INSANE IMPERATOR).Sitting on a throne sits a very big wroughtnaut with a dark blue armor and more ram like horns, and spikes going down his chest piece. He has many gems lining his armor but gives off decrepit wheezing noise. However after you enter the chamber he notices you and his eyes glow dark red, he then grabs a spiked ball and chain, and suddenly a translucent shield appears around him and he gets up.
ROUND 1
He is impervious to damage with the shield up and has no diamond sword in his back, but he only has the shield in the front. So you can ether shoot arrows at his head or squeeze through the tight hall and attack his back.
His current form has two attacks.
Smashing his ball and chain along the walls
Summoning 3 Iron swords that fire at you (but do not heat seek you)
However as you attack him, his armor will slowly chip away revealing… I… don’t really know what would be under them, or even if you have a plan, in my concept art I’ll just draw it as black shadows, (other suggestions are reptilian scales or skeletal) and suddenly all the cracks and chips in his armor start growing as he shakes. Suddenly his chestpiece bursts revealing four, slender , long Arms! His bottom arms pick the ball and chains as his head rears back and release a Terrifying war cry.
ROUND 2
His new Form allows for versatile new attacks!
The same smash attack
Summoning 5 Iron swords (except now one of his top arms will snap its fingers)
An earthquake much like the regular wroughtnaut except on a much bigger scale
One of the top hands will creepily snake through the air towards you, and if it gets to you without being hit once, it will through you as high as an iron golem.
It is now easier to hit him, but he has a lot more health now, upon his death he will fall to his knees and put two hands to his head, as you see an elongated jaw while he roars and screams, he then disintegrates until all that’s left is his armor and weapons
He would have the MASSIVE ball and chain as a weapon drop, and maybe a royal gems item that would be put in an anvil to upgrade weapons (swords, bows, axes, Etc) for snazzy effects and shiny splendor
Oh I recall playing Advent of Ascension at some point; it was a really fun mod!
Pretty much this!
Though in terms of the structure the Librarian could spawn in, should it just be filled with various traps for player as well as vanilla mobs such as skeletons and zombies, or should the structure actually have it's own unique mobs within it, with the Librarian acting as the boss?
EDIT: I don't agree with this suggestion anymore; I feel that traps and puzzles could be much more appropriate for the Librarian's dungeon/tower.
Traps and puzzles are always difficult to implement. There's also the issue of developing traps and puzzles that players can't build or dig around.
There doesn't need to be anything else in the tower aside from the boss, but we'll see.
Perhaps it could summon the laser-firing books you mentioned earlier?
Also, hear me out, I'd like to try and "merge" our ideas along with getting some new ones for the sake of making the Totem a challenge to obtain.
So, the Totem could be divided in 4 fragments. Each fragment already has a small ability that can help you with another earthly mob, and when they are put together all the abilities are available and slightly enhanced when compared to their fragment versions.
The 1st fragment, which is the one the player can obtain by the Monkey Guru by trading or fighting, is one that launches rocks. The fact that you can't earn any other ability from the Guru could be justified with the fact that he had to train for thousands of years to learn and master these abilities.
The golem, instead of having the entire totem stuck on its back, will only have a fragment. He also has a new attack, where he summons a spike which will follow you from under the ground before finally rising in an attempt to impale you. The spike is solid, like the Guru's rocks, meaning it can also act as a shield. The fragment the Golem drops gives you this ability. Right-click with the fragment in hand to summon, turn your head to control, right-click again to make the spike rise.
And now come two new mobs: the Sandworm and the Monolith.
Sandworm
"Inhabitants of the Desert, these massive serpentine creatures attack from underground to eat their prey. The earthly power infused within their bodies allow them to dig trough even the strongest walls. However, they'll eat anything in their way once they try to bite their victims. Use this to your advantage".
This is going to be arguably the simplest mob out of the Geomancy bunch. It travels underground, but you can see it from the surface because it produces "run" particles above it. It's essentially an Arrakian Sandworm from Dune in terms of appearance, but one of its teeth is the Talisman fragment. Once it's right under you or next to you, it will emerge and try to bite you. What you have to do is place a block of TNT or a somewhat hard block like stone or an Iron block in front of it as he's biting. This will briefly leave it stunned, giving you a chance to attack. On death,
it will drop the 3rd fragment, which allows you to phase through thin walls and even use the Worm's burrowing attack by right-clicking a block with the fragment in your hand.
I have thought of many ways on how the burrowing would work on the player, and the best one so far was that the player is sent in the ground and forced into third person view, but does not suffocate.
Ancient Monoliths
"Some say that these ancient stone pillars were used by shamans to communicate with the Earth itself. Others say that they are the Earth goddess's corporeal forms. What everyone knows, though, is that they enshrine a fragment of a sacred Talisman that allows the user to control the Earth, and that their Geomancy overpowers anyone who tries to steal it.
The few adventurers that managed to survive the encounter claim that some Monoliths were constantly glowing. Perhaps this signifies a weak point...?"
The Monoliths are giant pillar-like stones, with ancient runes wrote on them. They guard the last Talisman fragment the player needs. They are encountered in special hollow caves inside mountains, in groups of 5, disposed in a semi-circle. If the player approaches, the middle monolith will start glowing light-blue, slowly flashing, and the battle will begin.
To earn the final fragment, the player must break every Monolith. Not every Monolith is instantly vulnerable, though. There will be one light-blue glowing Monolith at a time, and the glowing Monolith is vulnerable. You need to be quick though, as the glow will constantly shift between Monoliths, and sometimes the glow will even move to other blocks which will throw themselves at you. When that happens, the "glowing" will transfer to a Monolith after the block breaks, and it will happen mostly when there's only 2 or 1 Monolith left (Think of it as an Earth spirit using the Monoliths and surroundings as corporeal forms).
Not glowing Monoliths use the following attacks:
Throws small rocks at the player.
Creates a shockwave around them (Only one overall Monolith will do this at a time)
The one that glows uses the following attacks:
Throws small rocks at the player.
Throws larger rocks at the player.
Creates a shockwave around them (Only one overall Monolith will do this at a time)
Summons the Golem's earthen spikes.
Creates earth fissures to try to hit the player.
Creates a small rock domino to try to hit the player. (No other Monolith will attack during this move)
Throws a massive rock at the player (Only uses this move when there are 3 Monoliths or lower)
Protects itself from attacks by summoning a stone wall in front of him. (Only uses this move when there are 3 Monoliths or lower)
Casts an Earthquake effect, shaking the player's screen and slowing him down. (Only uses this move when there are 3 Monoliths or lower)
Summons a barrage of small rocks to hit the player. (Only uses this move when there are 3 Monoliths or lower)
The last Monolith, on defeat, will drop the last fragment. This fragment allows the player to summon a stone wall to protect himself.
The New Earth Talisman
The new Talisman, after being assembled, will grant the player a small resistance buff when it's being held in a hand, and grants the following abilities when it's in the inventory:
Right-click the ground to summon a rock you can toss by left-clicking. Hold right-click to charge. Max of 10 blocks.
You can phase trough thin walls (2 block thick).
Shift + Right-click to summon an Earthen spike. Move your head to control it, pless right-click again to make the spike rise.
Right-click the ground with the Talisman in hand to summon a stone wall. Puts the Talisman on cooldown for 10 seconds.
Shift + Left-click to use the burrowing ability. Right-click to emerge.
So...any ideas to improve it?
It's unoriginal, but it's actually do-able from a coding standpoint.
These mobs are all pretty cool and interesting. My only issue is that it will take a long time to develop all of them. I do have lots of other plans for geomancy besides the boulder-launching ability. I'll definitely keep this in mind.
I feel like the frostmaw's model needs to be updated. It doesn't fit in with the models of the barakoa, foliath, etc. The 2D antlers and teeth really take away from the majesty of the frostmaw.
The only issue is the 2D textures? The barakoa and foliaath models both have 2D texture planes too. In fact, so do lots of vanilla mobs, such as the bat, chicken, silverfish, skeleton, vex, and parrot.
I'm not sure if this is the right place to report this, but i encountered a bug with the latest version. I was using the ice crystal quite alot and suddenly it wouldnot stop. i could not use commands and when i exited, it crashed my game.
Ooh, haven't seen this one yet. Could you share the crash log, please?
First of all, I want to congratulate you for this mod. I will surely be hard to understand because i'm a french player.
I always look at the news of this mod because it's very awesome ! Your mod is a "must have" ! I hope that the inspiration will not leave you and that this mod will evolve a very long time.
For information, your mod is very good and complementary with the mod "Ice and Fire: Dragons in a Whole New Light!" and i always play with these two mod.
I saw that you could add original mobs created by people if you like them
You have certain criteria and I would like to offer you some ideas. You can then take the one or those you are interested in
My first idea is your plan to create a hostile orc or gobelin village.
I will see a village with the size of a village of villagers, But the village must be like a military camp rather than a village. This will make these creatures more intimidating than simple NPCs. The houses would look more like huts. There would be livestock enclosures and possibly agricultural fields. Obviously, there will be chests in the huts with weapons, armor, raw materials, minerals,...
Now let's talk about what's most interesting, the mobs
First thing interesting, the monsters could leave the village in group to go hunting animals. Of course, if there are a village of villagers, They will go and plunder this village
Goblin
Life: 8
The goblin is the most present and weakest creature in the village, he's very little, a gray / green skin and a little playful scream. There are 2 types of gobelin, the first type of goblins have a dagger, he can stab the player for inflict 2 hearts of damage and have a huge speed. However the little more I would add would be that the goblin could steal an object from the player if he is in his back. The goblin who stole an object would then flee with the visible object in his hands. It could only steal objects in the inventory and not in the character's object bar. The second type of goblins have a bow and he can shoot for inflict 2 hearts of damage and distract the player while these companions can steal the player. When he dies, he leaves his weapon, golden nugget or emerald and leather.
Orc
Life: 20
The orc is the same size or a little bigger than the player, a gray/black skin and a serious rumble. There are 3 types of orc, the first type of orc is like the barakoana. He have a sword and a shield. He can stab the player for inflict 3 hearts of damage and he can block the player's attacks. the second type is a little rarer. It's a orc with a war orn and a sword, he can stab the player for inflict 3 hearts of damage but the first thing he will do when seeing a player is blow inside the war orn for create a huge bass sound attracting all the nearby orcs, goblins, hobgobelins and ogre to come and help him. Able to alerting a whole village of a player attack. The third type of orc is a orc riding a wolf, a hostile wolf, he have a sword or a bow and he can stab or shoot the player for inflict 3 hearts of damage. He have a very high speed in the wolf. They are certainly the most dangerous but also the rarest orcs. When he dies, he leaves his weapon, piece of iron armor and emerald
Hobgoblin
Life: 30
The hobgobelin is the same size than the player, a green/black skin and a proud rumble. Hobgoblin are rare in a village because it's a very good fighter with adaptative skill. The hobgoblin will adapt according to the player it faces. If the player is too far away, he will take his bow and shoot arrows inflicting 3 heart of damage. But if the player is near, he will draw two swords and inflict 4 heart of damage. Hobgoblin is very strong in duel because he has a special technique. He retreats from the player and charges for 1 or 2 seconds an attack which will then make him jump by performing a horizontal attack. This will inflict the same damage but will cause the object to fall from the player's hand. It is noted that hobgoblin may rarely appear riding a hostile wolf but it will not use its special technique as long as it riding him. When he dies, he leaves his weapon, piece of iron armor and emerald and golden nugget.
Ogre
Life: 50
The ogre is twice as big as the player. a green skin and a furious rumble. Ogre are the rarest creature in a village because is the powerful mob in that village. He have a big wooden mass. It can strike horizontally or vertically with it for inflict 5 heart of damage and have a powerful knockback. The ogre can be grab a player for throw him in a wide range inflicting between 5 and 10 hearts damage as a function of distance. He can also take any block (except some block like the bedrock) to throw it in one direction and inflict 4 heart of damage. He's a very low speed. He's insensitive to attacks made with blowguns, wooden or stone weapons, the arrows inflict to him only half the damage. When he dies, he leaves his wooden mass, piece of iron armor, emerald and golden nugget.
(Choose a name for him), The Orc King
Life: Your choice
The orc king is the leader of all orcs in the region. It only appears in large enough orc villages. It is said that he has an insatiable hunger and that he is an uncontrollable fury. He is two or three times larger than the player, he have a gray/green skin and a steel armor with a great sword or axe (your choice) for protecting him. His right arm does not have any armor but it has bigger claws and it seems completely corrupted of dark energy. When the fight begin, the orc king blow in a war horn to attract all the goblins, orcs, hobgoblins and ogres surroundings to come to help him. The orc king fight with his weapon, striking vertically, horizontally infllicting 5 heart of damage and have a huge knockback. Sometimes he can stretch his right arm in front of him to throw a multitude of dark projectiles in front of him, his arm following the direction the player takes to try to touch him, dark projectiles inflicting 4 heart of damage and inflict Wither. When his life points are half, he becomes invulnerable for a few seconds, storing the dark energy in him and releasing an explosion pushing nearby creatures by inflicting 10 damage to them, the player must step back when he sees the king orc store energy. After that, the color of the king orc change to be black, he throw is weapon and his two arm become corrupted. The orc king fight with his bare hands, striking vertically, horizontally inflicting 5 heart of damage and the wither effect. He have the same attack with dark projectiles but he have an another attack. He can cast a rain of dark projectile above him, which will fall around him, inflicting 4 damage and inflicting the wither effect. He's insensitive to attacks made with blowguns, wooden or stone weapons, the arrows inflict to him only half the damage and he can take a knockback from player's attacks even with an enchantment. When he dies, he leaves his weapon, piece of his armor, emerald and golden nugget, and two special item
A crown of orcs allowing to have the respect of all the orcs, goblins, ogre and hobgobelins. They will not attack you anymore and you can recruit them by right click with an emerald or a golden nugget (like wolf)
A war orn which makes it possible to carry out an enormous serious sound that can scare any nearby creature (some powerful creature like the enderdragon, the ghast, the frostmaw and others are insensitive to that)
My second idea
My second idea is much like the famous mimic RPG but there is already a lot of mod who owns this creature so how to make it more original and especially better than others ?
Mimic
Life: 20
Mimics look like normal chests, present in dungeons, underground or ruins but do not rely on appearances because when the player attempts to open the chest, the mimic will pull out the fangs and throw himself at his target. Its bite can inflict 4 heart of damage and it will swallow the object that holds the player in hand. It will advance by jumping. You will have to be careful before walking in the caves
Deadly Armed Mimic
Life: 50
Be careful when you see a big chest. Because there's a chance of it's deadly armed mimic. It is much more dangerous than its smaller cousin. This creature looks like a skeleton inside the chest, The bottom part of the chest float in the air and his normal but the upper part disappears leaving the place for a large spine with a horrific skull. From his spine comes out 4 skeletal arms. His arm have a shield was one of the top parts of the chest. So, the top part of the chest is divide into 4 little parts serving as a shield. In his skeletal hands, he will hold different weapons. The two hands at the bottom hold a sword. One of the upper hands holds an axe and the other hand holds a scythe. His first attack is to strike horizontally with one of his two swords inflicting 5 heart of damage, his second attack is to strike vertically with his axe inflicting 8 heart of damage, his third attack is to strike horizontally with his scythe inflitcing 8 heart of damage. His last attack was to take arrow out of the bottom of the chest and pullers in several directions. When he dies, he leaves two iron sword, an iron axe and a iron scythe, a box and a special item
A Mimic Orb, when it is thrown to invoke a tamed mimic who follows the player as a wolf and whose objects he can drop objects inside. If the mimic dies or the player use the right click with his orb, it will disappear and reappear when the player re-invokes it with all the contents left inside.
Thank you for all and for this mod
Thanks for the praise! I'm glad you like the mod!
I'm afraid your first idea is mechanically very similar to the Barakoa tribe. Perhaps these races have a different place in the Minecraft world.
Mimics have been very successfully implemented in other mods. I don't think I can make one any better than the one in Primitive Mobs. You should download it if you want to add them to your game.
can i just say, i am very impressed with this mod. this mod, as electonse said, goes great with ice/fire as well as many other really cool mods. it's a must-have for any modpacks used. incredible work, ilexicon, and mowzie! the models are fantastic, the textures are fantastic, and overall this mod is fantastic! i really like how you used a diamond-shaped block for the head, like, i'm not sure how to describe what exactly it is but i think you know what i'm talking about i also noticed the geomancers talisman in the creative inventory. does this mean that there will be a new mob that drops this as well? if so, what mob. it would be very cool if there where a bunch of different talisman's that one could use. anyways, i'm going off the rails here. keep up the wonderful work!
Thank you very much! However, please don't forget to credit pau101. He has helped a lot with some of the more technical aspects of modding.
I have further plans for it, yes.
Oh, what a strange bug.
If you try to summon a large boulder in too small a space, it won't appear.
This is an amazing mod, so here are my suggestions to make it even more amazing:
So firstly what biomes have new mobs been added?
Ice Spikes - Frostmaw
Jungle - Foliaath
Underground - Ferrous Wroughtnaught
Savanna - Barakoas
So here are my suggestions:
Sky Serpent Ideas (Expanding on the Sky Serpent you are considering)
- Spawns in Extreme Hills
- Dives towards players while flying
- Light green in colour
- Rainbow trail?
- Shoots rainbows?
- Drops rainbow orb (Player can shoot forward and launch rainbows)
- Curls up (on a cloud?) until awakened (get within 16 blocks on the x/z co ordinate)
- Icy variant that spawns in Ice Mountains
- Deals slowness potion effect
- Smaller, slightly less health
- 80-120 health?
Gold-encrusted titan
- Spawns underground in mesa biomes (not below the y co ordinate where stained clay ends and stone starts)
- Large, made from a mix of gold and stained clay
- Imagine the Ferrous Wroughtnout twice as bulky, replace all metal with boulders and gold, and give him two huge clay boulders for hands
- Causes earthquakes
- Slams fists onto player
- Spits gold pellets
- Drops boulder fist, (use a json model) which causes earthquakes and can smash onto mobs
- 100 health?
Ender Mammoth
- Spawns in endstone mounds in the End (Create a heap of endstone and hollow it out and make an entrance)
- Spawns in the outer end islands only
- Charges full speed then teleports behind the player before impact, therefore charging into the player from behind
- Tusks cause high damage and knockback
- Black and purple in colour, black fur like skin, purple tusks, purple hooves, purple eyes
- Drops tusks (material) which can be used to craft something?
- 60-100 health?
Ideas for the stalker
- Is invisible until close to the player
- Lurks behind the player, avoid players line of sight if the player turns around (hides behind it again)
- After a short amount of time another stalker will join in
- After 3? 4? stalkers have joined they all surround the player and attack (not sure how yet)
- Spawns in roofed forest, birch forests and normal forests (Roofed forests in the dark at any time of day, other forests during the night only)
- Looks like a cloaked soul with black eyes and mouth, no pupils, just black
- Is slightly transparent
- Drops its cloak (chestplate slot) which can be used to toggle invisibility on right click.
Sandstorm
- Looks like a whirling miniture sandstorm (Imagine a blaze, colour it sand coloured, get rid of its arms, lower the transparency of its head, then make sand swirl around it, and make it quite a bit bigger
- Advances on the player, no tactical maneuvers whatsoever
- Damage if touched
- Destroys grass, plants, tall grass, leaves, torches (weak blocks) within its swirling radius
- Sucks mobs towards it slightly
- Can increase its whirlwind size to destroy/damage in a bigger radius (or it is like this by default)
- Drops sandstorm in a bottle. Right click to open which unleashes the sandstorm swirling around, right click again to close.
- 40 health
- Damage by hitting its face. Bows deal no damage
- Guess where it spawns
Flaming Fiend
- Spawns in the Nether
- Looks a bit like a spiritual flaming imp
- Burns player if touched
- Fireballs rotate around it (a bit like the arms of a blaze)
- Spirals fireballs up into the air, then crashes them down on the player
- 30 health?
- Holds a tall staff
- Creates a fire shield
- Fire shield is disabled when launching fireballs into the air
- Can only be damaged when fire shield is disabled
- Drops Inferno Staff, hold right click to summon up to 3 fireballs to rotate around the player, (longer you hold the more fireballs it makes), then release to spiral into the air and crash down on enemies. Fire shield is enabled when fireballs rotate around the player
If you made it this far, thanks for taking the time to read my suggestions
I'm glad you like the mod!
These ideas aren't bad, but they just aren't standing out to me as perfect future additions. I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to turn them down.
Hey Mowzie, its me, 4Point! Remember me from some previous suggestions? well, i have an idea.
So, you have Items to harness Fire, via the sun, the Earth, via the Earth talisman, and the Water, via the Ice Crystal.
Now, this idea is about air, or, i should say, Lack of Air.
i welcome you to.... the Void Relic.
Harnessing the power of the void itself, it creates a vortex in front of the user by harnessing the power of the Void, and pulling in entities, banishing them into the Infinite pit of Despair (the void, DUH.) however, this miniature gateway to the shadow realm can only open for a few seconds at a time. however, a strange thing occurs when the user Sneaks whilst using this. instead of sucking things In, it spits the previously absorbed thing Out. i guess this occurs by generating a Input portal in the void instead of an Output portal.
"but wait!" you may ask, "How would you get it?". Heh. Heh. Heh.
the only thing that could harness the void is things that live In It.
this beast.... is the sacred, evil, Endarius Reaper.
A tall, slender humanoid carrying a Scythe fused with the Void Relic and lives in the Ender Islands.
Attacks:
Its main attacks consist of swinging its scythe about. but it has 2 incredibly powerful attacks.
Downwards Slash: a powerful downwards swing with its scythe. after this attack, its scythe gets stuck in the ground.
Void Exposure: Using the Void Relic, it sucks you in, putting you into a black realm with so much evil inside, you feel yourself begin to wither away. around 1.5 seconds after, it shoots you out into a wall.
Weak Spot:
no Weak Point is visible at first glance, as its made of the void itself, and has no eyes. Wait.... the scythe has an eye?!?! Apparently, the SCYTHE is the sentient thing here, and the Black Body is a mere puppet. however, when the scythe Strikes, the shadowy puppet's arm seems to vanish slightly, maybe holding your sword out while that happens prevents it from properly reforming...?
Phase 2:
After completely destroying the shadowy figure, the Sentient Scythe is now more than happy to cut you into bloody pieces. The black figure completely dissapears and the Scythe begins to levitate.
Phase 2 Attacks:
The same as Phase 1, but more Hectic and Powerful.
Phase 2 Weak Spot:
Wait, why is the scythe the Sentient thing again.....?
Death Animation:
The Scythe Spins rapidly, wide eyed, as the Relic begins to malfunction. soon, the relic begins to absorb, and the Scythe completely implodes.
See what its like when you have a LOT of time on your hands and a good imagination? i hope you like the idea, and i would be in awe if you put it in as a boss.
This sounds better and better. It will be very difficult to program, but I think it's doable.
I'm glad you like it!
Traps and puzzles are always difficult to implement. There's also the issue of developing traps and puzzles that players can't build or dig around.
There doesn't need to be anything else in the tower aside from the boss, but we'll see.
Very true. In the case of the Librarian itself being the only thing in the tower, the structure itself, (or at least the top floor where the boss will be at) should be designed in a way that'll give both the boss and the player space to battle, since the Librarian will need space to perform his attacks while the player will need space to dodge them XD
Saw your mod and wanted to say, it's awesome. I think something that would be really cool (if you have time) is making a little animation of a mob inside the Foliaath's mouth when it kills it.
Mowzie, remember this post from page 7? this IS possible, in the Ice and Fire mod, they made the dragon's mouth a mount, so when the grab and shake you, you move in sync with their mouth.
Mowzie, I thing it was a forced crash i initiated to prevent it from breaking my world. (it was a survival world i had done quite a bit in) I dont understand crash reports either, and i would leave it here, but i cant find it.

So Bob i kinda feel like this thread is overloading with ideas It is nice and all but you should make It clear to everyone that this mobs take allot of time and effort to make.
It would be nice if this thread became more than just ideas and expect them to come true...
Having said that where do you find inspiration for the mobs?! They are top notch 😂(punintended).
I mean Mobs in vanilla pale in front of yours.
And the best is that the mobs fit astoundingly in the vanilla experience.
I know what you mean, but nothing I do will stop people from writing ideas. Either way, I don't have any issue with the state of the thread as it is.
Thanks. There's no one place I get inspiration from; mostly I just feel around for what I think Minecraft is missing. Sometimes my favorite aspects of characters from other games make their way in.
I'm sorry, but this doesn't strike me as a great future addition. I like certain aspects, sure, but overall I can't imagine how an encounter would play out within Minecraft's engine, nor can I see the mob contributing to an environment in the game. Sorry, but I'm going to have to turn this down.
Very true. In the case of the Librarian itself being the only thing in the tower, the structure itself, (or at least the top floor where the boss will be at) should be designed in a way that'll give both the boss and the player space to battle, since the Librarian will need space to perform his attacks while the player will need space to dodge them XD
Mowzie, remember this post from page 7? this IS possible, in the Ice and Fire mod, they made the dragon's mouth a mount, so when the grab and shake you, you move in sync with their mouth.
I implemented something similar in the original Jurassicraft, but it does not work well in either mod.
I will not be adding this to the foliaath.
Mowzie, I thing it was a forced crash i initiated to prevent it from breaking my world. (it was a survival world i had done quite a bit in) I dont understand crash reports either, and i would leave it here, but i cant find it.
I see. I haven't encountered anything like this, so please send me all the details and the log if it happens again.
Sorry, I hope your world is alright...
Well i found a glitch with the ferrous wroughtnaught! after i hit it, it sorta freezes, doesnt do anything before i stand in front of it for a second, then it works again... im really confused about this!
I'm aware of this. This is a side effect of how the animation api works and cannot be fixed. It doesn't really hurt gameplay though.
Since everyone is posting their ideas , i hope my boss mechanic won't hurt the thread much [don't even know if it's doable]
The Moon Descendant
The Moon Descendant
Resides in: Taiga/Cold Taiga, meditating on a rock ?
Appearance: Some kind of Mage/Monk in sitting position. Has a wolf's head with bright, white eyes.
Abilities:
-If encountered for the first time, raises his "hands" in the air summoning cloudy moon image above his head.
This attack slowly puts the moon in the middle of the sky, keeping the night until the player's or TMD's death.[Moving out of range also works]
-Difficulty of battle changes with the phase of the moon.[Has all of his attacks in Full Moon and only two in New Moon]
-Shoots "Lunar Laser" from it's eyes, damaging player on contact with it.[Primary attack, damage is moon phase dependent]
-Puts the "Cursed Moon" effect on player, impaling his/her ability to see. Highly visible are TMD's eyes.[New Moon Attack]
-Calls a "Lunar Barrage" from the sky, showering the player with moon rocks.[Half Moon Attack]
-Does a "Lunar Howl" which summons angry wolves to attack the player. Additionaly turns player's dogs against him/her.[Full Moon Attack]
Drops: Moonlight Amulet - Allows wielder to gain some powers of The Moon Descendant.[Moon phase dependent, requires nighttime to work]
Don't take those attacks too seriously, it's all about that moon phase mechanic.
It's cool, but there are a few issues. First, in a multiplayer server, if one player approaches this mob, the entire server will enter night suddenly and seemingly without reason. The second issue is with the moon phase mechanic. The mob is significantly weaker during the lesser moon phases, so no players will ever fight it during the fuller moon stages. This makes the stronger attacks pointless, as a smart player will never approach the mob when it can use them.
Yeah, you do have a point; I just can't help throwing around ideas XD
In that cause, though, maybe the hellish creature could be the reanimated skeleton of some kind of prehistoric monster in the mesa biome?
I am using you mod in my mod pack https://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/magic-mastery-race. Thanks for making this mod!
The foliaath also has those weird 2D textures.

Other than those things this is easily the BEST mod ever and I won't mind getting lots more mobz in the future
i really like the mod keep on to update the mod
crash reports and maybe more information than "it keeps on crashing" will help (no offense included)
just saying wait lemme add that 2 the paragraph
LLibrary download
Thanks, its difficult to find the time, but I like to communicate with my audience.
Yep! Sorry this reply took so long.
This sounds better and better. It will be very difficult to program, but I think it's doable.
Something like this would make sense. However, the geomancy ability is a status effect, so you'd get all of its powers at once when you complete it. I'll think about this.
I appreciate it, but I don't feel like expanding on the Ferrous Wroughtnauts at this time.
Traps and puzzles are always difficult to implement. There's also the issue of developing traps and puzzles that players can't build or dig around.
There doesn't need to be anything else in the tower aside from the boss, but we'll see.
These mobs are all pretty cool and interesting. My only issue is that it will take a long time to develop all of them. I do have lots of other plans for geomancy besides the boulder-launching ability. I'll definitely keep this in mind.
That's cool, yeah. Reminds me of the Stalord from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
The only issue is the 2D textures? The barakoa and foliaath models both have 2D texture planes too. In fact, so do lots of vanilla mobs, such as the bat, chicken, silverfish, skeleton, vex, and parrot.
Sure thing! Have fun!
So does vanilla foliage, Barako, the Barakoa, bat, chicken, silverfish, skeleton, vex, and parrot.
Ooh, haven't seen this one yet. Could you share the crash log, please?
Thanks for the praise! I'm glad you like the mod!
I'm afraid your first idea is mechanically very similar to the Barakoa tribe. Perhaps these races have a different place in the Minecraft world.
Mimics have been very successfully implemented in other mods. I don't think I can make one any better than the one in Primitive Mobs. You should download it if you want to add them to your game.
Thank you very much! However, please don't forget to credit pau101. He has helped a lot with some of the more technical aspects of modding.
I have further plans for it, yes.
Oh, what a strange bug.
If you try to summon a large boulder in too small a space, it won't appear.
I'm afraid this doesn't really help me... Can you share the crash log or anything about your installation?
I'm glad you like the mod!
These ideas aren't bad, but they just aren't standing out to me as perfect future additions. I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to turn them down.
Can I please see the crash log?
hi just wanted to let you know i am using this mod in my mod pack called job mastery race

...I thought this was an intentional "stunned" effect...
Praise be Ro-naza, greatest among the thaumaturges!
Yes. Did you have something better in mind?
I mixed that sound with lion and alligator sounds to create the roar.
