The front two claws grab the player and hold it up, doing no damage. The other claws will try to tear the player apart and the only way to escape this is by hacking off the front two claws. The last four can also be hacked off, but they will hurt. The scorpion can only be killed once all 6 claws are gone. Then it will start using the earth in anyway it can, throwing it and growing earthy claws that break after attacking. Once it gets too low it will run quickly, requiring a horse to chase it to finish it off.
Someone suggested the hermit crab thief earlier, which I said I would do.
But I meant that I like that you can damage the mob by letting it take poison potatoes and such. It gives them a purpose.
Flinging the player wouldn't really be the same thing, and I would prefer to have this as a flying mob. Having a mob grab the player won't be buggy, it will just use the riding code.
I just meant how mounts go really slow on servers and I've gotten stuck in grab and fly mobs before because they become unhittable. As long as they drop at some point it won't be a problem I guess. Maybe vou could try a flying zombie, give it a bow and it could shoot arrows too.

Whilst trying not to sound like a butt, the barkoa village sounds like it should be easier than the barkoa themselves, is that still in the works at all, or did it already happen and I missed it?
Also, I'm going to finally suggest two things of my own. Now, to be specific, both of these are references to other things, so I don't expect you to want them, but they're both terrific ideas that I was thinking about making a mod of my own for, until I realized how many mods I'm already planning, and decided to cut down the number. So, Ideally, even after these are refused, somebody else may pick them up. All I ask is credit for the ideas if they are used, as well as credits to the writers of both songs. In my personal opinion, the first of these two ideas is okay, and the second is fabulous.
One-eyed one-horned flying purple people eater:
A flying monster that spawns pretty rarely anywhere aboveground during the night, it's AI is a pretty simple swoop down and attempt-to-eat-you AI, and its model is purple, has wings, a horn, and a single eye, as well as a large frontal maw. It's pretty hard to fight at close range due to quick movement, but fairly easy to snipe should you have a bow or some modded equivelent. It will entirely ignore you however if it sees a villiger in a purple robe, and will focus all of its attacks on that.
Drops:
50% chance - Purple Horn (Basic weapon with +5.5 attack damage)
5% chance - Music Disc - One-eyed-one-horned-flying-purple-people-eater (This song, like the whole mob is based on: )
Shia Lebeouf: (Mini-boss)
When you're walking in the woods, and you're the only player around, out of the corner of your screen you could spot him-
Shia Lebeouf.
Spawning only during the night, very rarely.
When you first encounter him, he's probably about 10 blocks away, and once he sees you, he gets down on all fours and breaks into a sprint. He's a little faster than you. He generally lurks in the shadows, and tries to avoid light. He will always spawn near a new generated structure, a small cottage with light in it. He will occasionally spawn a few bear traps that will do a bit of damage when stepped on. He weilds a knife, and, if he can't find the player, will return to the nearby cottage. When killed, the chat will display this:
"<Username> has beaten shia lebeouf!"
Then, once the player turns their back on the spot where Shia died, He will reappear, in his second form, and the chat will say
"Wait- He isnt dead! Shia surprise there's a gun to <Username's> head, and death in shia's eyes!"
In his second form, he weilds a sort-of pistol thing, and the knife from before. This form, compared to the previous barely-worse-than-three-zombies one, is pretty scary. His attacks are still not all that high damage, but high enough that he's a problem, and he's got range now, and will attempt to stay out of your range, although it's possible to catch up to him now. After a legendary fight with shia lebouf, you deal the finishing blow, and the chat will say:
"<Username> has just decapitated Shia Lebeouf!"
Drops:
100% - Shia Head (Looks like the weird-paper ones in the video, not a normal minecraft one, and will, when worn, provide a little armor, as well as protection from other Shia Lebeoufs you fight)

What about barbatos for the nether. you know like from demonology the earl an duke from hell?
He be either a rare spawn or spawn in his own structure say like Hell's gates, but when he sees you casts the wither effect on you and teleports towards you (by the way he is 5 blocks tall and love your work). He repeatedly swipes and claws at you with out letting up and shots fire at you so not only do you have to deal with the withering effect but hime setting you on fire too. When he is low on health he'll then have demonic armour (which he drops along with his demonic pitchfork) on which gives him a speed boost and status effect immunity along with projectile immunity, and when he is in this state he gives you blindness and has increased power and knockback too. Not only does he drop his armour and weapon but he will probably drop something to tame another mod idea I had which was Oghma the lord of knowlegde don't know where he spawn yet.
Lets see... If you started in November, would we get an update around January or February? That would be pretty cool, because it could be like the winter update, with the frostmaw.
A awful bug.
It crawls around any biome but most frequently in the jungles, forests and deserts. It will attack by jumping at players dealing a bit of damage along with poison. But this is not what makes it deadly. By killing the little critter, it will cause all mobs in a 100(to 500) blocks radius to start to go to that spot it was killed by producing a special scent.
The scents itself will cause nausea to any players that steps in it while giving mobs a speed and resistance boost
4 Face
A freak of nature. It looks like a man on it's sides without arms. All sides will have a body with a arm sticking out of their chest. Their legs are sticking out of their crotch area. The 4 faces however has different styles, looking like a beast, normal human, robot and golem face.
Each sides has different abilities. Beast side will have a arm that is clawed. That side will deal poison damage with the claws while ignoring armour and the face will shoot withering acid. The human side will just have an arm that wields a giant sword that deal high damage, knockback and destroys armour quickly. The Robot side will have it's arm shooting explosives rounds with the face shooting fiery projectiles. The golem side will deal heavy damage along with knockback
Cursed Armour
A living armour that roams the landscape looking for it's perfect owner.
It will look like dark plated armour that has a core in it's body while wielding a sword and shield.
At full health, it will forcefully equipping itself onto your body(stripping off your armour). When it does this, you gain a high withering effect along with nausea and mining faitgue but gain a huge strength buff. It will not equip all of itself at once. The core will be standing right that when you are forcefully equipped. To force it back ,you have to hit the core.
Once it is down to a certain level of HP, it will attack with it's sword and defend with it's shield. It will also have an increased resistance and strength buff
Upon death, it will drop the armour but will only cause mining fatigue and nausea but gives a high strength and resistance buff when worn.
Weapon Hunter
The Hunter who hunts all who wields weapons. He spawns mainly in forests but also appears in mountains
A mutated human who went crazy after killing someone. He will probably maybe look like a huge guy with 4 arms
He has 4 modes of attack which is Attack, Ranged, Magic and Ultimate.
Attack Mode is where he wields 2 swords(Diamond at default)
Ranged is where he carries a bow
Magic is where he wields a fire ball shooting staff
Ultimate is where he equips all his weapons and wears armour. Will only use this when he has low HP
Any Players he hunts down and kills, he will take that Player's weapon if he is wielding something better than what he is currently using. He will also take the Player's armour as well.
Creepy WoodCutting Doll
A doll made of wood wielding an iron axe.
He spawns only at night rarely but randomly location.
He is first seen sitting on the ground. He awakens when a Player sees his face or he sees the Player in the distance.
He attacks by slowing walking towards the Player and teleports at random(Only when he is close) and teleports when he is shot by projectiles. He teleports always close to the Player.
He will also create WoodCutting Doll Illusions that can actually deal damage but disappears upon being whacked and cannot teleport.
He cannot be harmed by normal weapons and can only be killed by an axe or fire
Black Void
Spawn really rarely(or maybe created when the Player creates a temple/structure)
It spawns as a giant orb, all nearby blocks will start to fly towards the Orb at great speed. After 1-2 mins, he transform into a black humanoid. It's HP is dependent on how much blocks it absorbed. Mobs/Players that fly in as well but contribute to it's HP.
It attacks by shooting black bolts. And once in a while swooping down and slashing. At low HP, he starts to drop explosive black bolts that deal heavy damage and is heavy damaging the terrain.
Material Lord
A special creature made of ancient magic, greed and blocks.
He looks like a titan wielding a giant hammer.
He can transform at any time into a couple of ore/material form. Stone, Gold, Iron, Diamond, Obsidian, Netherrack and Sand.
At any given time, any weapon that hits him with the same material as what his current form is will heal him like iron sword to his iron form.
Stone gives him heavy knockback along with resistance. He can only be harmed by a pickaxe that is iron or higher.
Gold gives him all positive potion effects but cause him to take more damage except by gold weapons.
Iron is standard but provides him resistance to knockback. He is also resistance to fire damage and will sink when in water.
Diamond gives him high damage and high defense along with the ability to deflect arrows 50%.
Obsidian grants him insanely high defense and resistance to fire, explosions, knockback and any negative potion effects.
Netherrack has low attack power and defense but grants him an ability to set fire to anything he walks on and attacks. He can also shoot explosive fireballs and can swim in lava. But takes damage in water
Sand grants him complete immunity to any projectiles and weapons. He can only take damage by water. His attacks cause blindness and mining fatigue

A mercenery sniper
He can be tamed for gold.
He attacks by shooting shooting bubblegum. It has different types of effects depending on what he uses. 1st is Bubble which cause targets to fly high up and drop down. 2nd is sticky that cause the target to have a bubblegum stick to it and the block preventing it from moving very far. 3rd is choke that cause the target to choke on bubblegum causing nausea, weakness and blindness.
He can create a bubblegum shield that can only deflect projectiles and cause the 2nd effect to whoever touches that shield.
Btw just wondering BobMowzie, what mob are you currently working on? Just curious

Glad you like the mod! Sorry, but the Infernal Reaper sounds very generic. It will need some sort of unique mechanic, otherwise its just an ordinary enemy with a cool model.

This is a problem with LLibrary. You need to use the latest Java version, but on Macs, Minecraft doesn't. The new Mac Launcher fixes this issue!
That sounds cool; I'll keep it in mind. However, I don't think wings make much sense, I have to determine the stats through testing, and I might change the weakness.

Another cool ability for an ent would be to morph one of its hands into different tools/ weapons. TO morph, it would twist the branches at the ends of its hand/appendages into different shapes. It could form a shield, that it uses to block attacks with. It could form a sharp drill point on the end of its hand to reach into the earth to attack other mobs (I'm saying this because I know you want ents not to be hostile). A large fist type form, where it knocks the mobs far away. Its hand turns into a flat axe type appendage, where it swipes at incoming mobs. An a lot of other could be formed depending on the ents needs, giving the ent many cool animations!

He can transform at any time into a couple of ore/material form. Stone, Gold, Iron, Diamond, Obsidian, Netherrack and Sand.
At any given time, any weapon that hits him with the same material as what his current form is will heal him like iron sword to his iron form.
Stone gives him heavy knockback along with resistance. He can only be harmed by a pickaxe that is iron or higher.
Gold gives him all positive potion effects but cause him to take more damage except by gold weapons.
Iron is standard but provides him resistance to knockback. He is also resistance to fire damage and will sink when in water.
Diamond gives him high damage and high defense along with the ability to deflect arrows 50%.
Obsidian grants him insanely high defense and resistance to fire, explosions, knockback and any negative potion effects.
Netherrack has low attack power and defense but grants him an ability to set fire to anything he walks on and attacks. He can also shoot explosive fireballs and can swim in lava. But takes damage in water
Sand grants him complete immunity to any projectiles and weapons. He can only take damage by water. His attacks cause blindness and mining fatigue
Sniper Gum
A mercenery sniper
He can be tamed for gold.
He attacks by shooting shooting bubblegum. It has different types of effects depending on what he uses. 1st is Bubble which cause targets to fly high up and drop down. 2nd is sticky that cause the target to have a bubblegum stick to it and the block preventing it from moving very far. 3rd is choke that cause the target to choke on bubblegum causing nausea, weakness and blindness.
He can create a bubblegum shield that can only deflect projectiles and cause the 2nd effect to whoever touches that shield.
Btw just wondering BobMowzie, what mob are you currently working on? Just curious

Another cool ability for an ent would be to morph one of its hands into different tools/ weapons. TO morph, it would twist the branches at the ends of its hand/appendages into different shapes. It could form a shield, that it uses to block attacks with. It could form a sharp drill point on the end of its hand to reach into the earth to attack other mobs (I'm saying this because I know you want ents not to be hostile). A large fist type form, where it knocks the mobs far away. Its hand turns into a flat axe type appendage, where it swipes at incoming mobs. An a lot of other could be formed depending on the ents needs, giving the ent many cool animations!

So an ability for frostmaw to freeze water vapor around himself to form different weapons? Or a totally different mob that could change shape like a mob made out of light or something...
Yeah, that's a good estimation. But this next update will have Barakoa villages and Barako, their chief. Not the frostmaw.

I just meant how mounts go really slow on servers and I've gotten stuck in grab and fly mobs before because they become unhittable. As long as they drop at some point it won't be a problem I guess. Maybe vou could try a flying zombie, give it a bow and it could shoot arrows too.

Whilst trying not to sound like a butt, the barkoa village sounds like it should be easier than the barkoa themselves, is that still in the works at all, or did it already happen and I missed it?
Also, I'm going to finally suggest two things of my own. Now, to be specific, both of these are references to other things, so I don't expect you to want them, but they're both terrific ideas that I was thinking about making a mod of my own for, until I realized how many mods I'm already planning, and decided to cut down the number. So, Ideally, even after these are refused, somebody else may pick them up. All I ask is credit for the ideas if they are used, as well as credits to the writers of both songs. In my personal opinion, the first of these two ideas is okay, and the second is fabulous.
One-eyed one-horned flying purple people eater:
A flying monster that spawns pretty rarely anywhere aboveground during the night, it's AI is a pretty simple swoop down and attempt-to-eat-you AI, and its model is purple, has wings, a horn, and a single eye, as well as a large frontal maw. It's pretty hard to fight at close range due to quick movement, but fairly easy to snipe should you have a bow or some modded equivelent. It will entirely ignore you however if it sees a villiger in a purple robe, and will focus all of its attacks on that.
Drops:
50% chance - Purple Horn (Basic weapon with +5.5 attack damage)
5% chance - Music Disc - One-eyed-one-horned-flying-purple-people-eater (This song, like the whole mob is based on: )
Shia Lebeouf: (Mini-boss)
When you're walking in the woods, and you're the only player around, out of the corner of your screen you could spot him-
Shia Lebeouf.
Spawning only during the night, very rarely.
When you first encounter him, he's probably about 10 blocks away, and once he sees you, he gets down on all fours and breaks into a sprint. He's a little faster than you. He generally lurks in the shadows, and tries to avoid light. He will always spawn near a new generated structure, a small cottage with light in it. He will occasionally spawn a few bear traps that will do a bit of damage when stepped on. He weilds a knife, and, if he can't find the player, will return to the nearby cottage. When killed, the chat will display this:
"<Username> has beaten shia lebeouf!"
Then, once the player turns their back on the spot where Shia died, He will reappear, in his second form, and the chat will say
"Wait- He isnt dead! Shia surprise there's a gun to <Username's> head, and death in shia's eyes!"
In his second form, he weilds a sort-of pistol thing, and the knife from before. This form, compared to the previous barely-worse-than-three-zombies one, is pretty scary. His attacks are still not all that high damage, but high enough that he's a problem, and he's got range now, and will attempt to stay out of your range, although it's possible to catch up to him now. After a legendary fight with shia lebouf, you deal the finishing blow, and the chat will say:
"<Username> has just decapitated Shia Lebeouf!"
Drops:
100% - Shia Head (Looks like the weird-paper ones in the video, not a normal minecraft one, and will, when worn, provide a little armor, as well as protection from other Shia Lebeoufs you fight)
33% - Shia Knife (A simple, throwable weapon that can be picked up again after hitting things. +4 attack damage)
10% - Music Disc - Shia Lebeouf (this song, as the whole monster is based on: )

Yeah. Well, lots of other mods have already made giant scorpions. I don't think there's much point to making another one. Sorry.
It's easier, but it takes longer. I have to type in every block that I want to generate. Either way, development is on hold until November.

What about barbatos for the nether. you know like from demonology the earl an duke from hell?
He be either a rare spawn or spawn in his own structure say like Hell's gates, but when he sees you casts the wither effect on you and teleports towards you (by the way he is 5 blocks tall and love your work). He repeatedly swipes and claws at you with out letting up and shots fire at you so not only do you have to deal with the withering effect but hime setting you on fire too. When he is low on health he'll then have demonic armour (which he drops along with his demonic pitchfork) on which gives him a speed boost and status effect immunity along with projectile immunity, and when he is in this state he gives you blindness and has increased power and knockback too. Not only does he drop his armour and weapon but he will probably drop something to tame another mod idea I had which was Oghma the lord of knowlegde don't know where he spawn yet.
Lets see... If you started in November, would we get an update around January or February? That would be pretty cool, because it could be like the winter update, with the frostmaw.

Amazing work!
It crawls around any biome but most frequently in the jungles, forests and deserts. It will attack by jumping at players dealing a bit of damage along with poison. But this is not what makes it deadly. By killing the little critter, it will cause all mobs in a 100(to 500) blocks radius to start to go to that spot it was killed by producing a special scent.
The scents itself will cause nausea to any players that steps in it while giving mobs a speed and resistance boost
4 Face
Each sides has different abilities. Beast side will have a arm that is clawed. That side will deal poison damage with the claws while ignoring armour and the face will shoot withering acid. The human side will just have an arm that wields a giant sword that deal high damage, knockback and destroys armour quickly. The Robot side will have it's arm shooting explosives rounds with the face shooting fiery projectiles. The golem side will deal heavy damage along with knockback
Cursed Armour
It will look like dark plated armour that has a core in it's body while wielding a sword and shield.
At full health, it will forcefully equipping itself onto your body(stripping off your armour). When it does this, you gain a high withering effect along with nausea and mining faitgue but gain a huge strength buff. It will not equip all of itself at once. The core will be standing right that when you are forcefully equipped. To force it back ,you have to hit the core.
Once it is down to a certain level of HP, it will attack with it's sword and defend with it's shield. It will also have an increased resistance and strength buff
Upon death, it will drop the armour but will only cause mining fatigue and nausea but gives a high strength and resistance buff when worn.
Weapon Hunter
A mutated human who went crazy after killing someone. He will probably maybe look like a huge guy with 4 arms He has 4 modes of attack which is Attack, Ranged, Magic and Ultimate.
Attack Mode is where he wields 2 swords(Diamond at default) Ranged is where he carries a bow Magic is where he wields a fire ball shooting staff Ultimate is where he equips all his weapons and wears armour. Will only use this when he has low HP
Any Players he hunts down and kills, he will take that Player's weapon if he is wielding something better than what he is currently using. He will also take the Player's armour as well.
Creepy WoodCutting Doll
He spawns only at night rarely but randomly location.
He is first seen sitting on the ground. He awakens when a Player sees his face or he sees the Player in the distance.
He attacks by slowing walking towards the Player and teleports at random(Only when he is close) and teleports when he is shot by projectiles. He teleports always close to the Player.
He will also create WoodCutting Doll Illusions that can actually deal damage but disappears upon being whacked and cannot teleport.
He cannot be harmed by normal weapons and can only be killed by an axe or fire
Black Void
It spawns as a giant orb, all nearby blocks will start to fly towards the Orb at great speed. After 1-2 mins, he transform into a black humanoid. It's HP is dependent on how much blocks it absorbed. Mobs/Players that fly in as well but contribute to it's HP.
It attacks by shooting black bolts. And once in a while swooping down and slashing. At low HP, he starts to drop explosive black bolts that deal heavy damage and is heavy damaging the terrain.
Material Lord
He looks like a titan wielding a giant hammer.
