Hah, I'm in the comments on that post. Anyway came here to say great job, this is easly one of my favorite mods and I just discovered it. I've been looking for an alternative to mystcraft and though I havent tried to build any dimensions yet, I really like what I see. I did get a chance to play with the sequencer and I love it! I want more creative logic gates like that.
Some suggestions if I may
- New logic gate. Multi-Wireless sequencer
I sequencer with a similar interface, except when you fill a tick, you can also set a frequency of a redstone receiver (each tick checked could send a different frequency). This would make for AMAZING builds, though maybe a bit overpowered. It could consume RF energy to help balance it out?
- New logic gate Wireless reciever
see above, though I know you could come up with something to make this unique.
- Colored lights compatibility with those sexy beams for teleporting.
I'm a huge fan of the colored lights mod, and when I saw those beams I instantly thought this needed to happen.
I have a few more ideas but those are the ones I want you to consider most! Thanks for your time and great work!
Some wireless redstone thing has already been in my mind as I'm not a huge fan of the current wireless redstone options. The wireless sequencer variant you mention above sounds interesting idea and I'm considering it. Will put it on my todo when I'm back at a real computer.
I have no clue about the colored lights mod. I guess I should try it myself first to see what exactly it can do.

i have been playing around with the endergenic generators and have found a few odd things. first i love how it works its awesome. so here is what i found i first set it up with both generators not being infused and found that the one that is connected to the injector only creates about half as much RF as the other one ie 1st one 385 second one 783 something like that. so i infused them both to 61% because that's all the shards i had at the time and it produced more like 560 to 1090 still one more then the other. so i went and found some more shards to get them up to 100% to see what they would do and found that they produced less then if they where not infused 270/560 i thought that was odd, so i gave my self 2 new generators and infused them to 95% to see what would happen, they produced about the same as the 61% infused maybe a little less even. just wondering if anyone else has noticed this or if this is a bug maybe. i know that the power fluctuates some but the figures where pretty constant over longer periods of time. thanks for your help. love the mod its great.

Dude.. yes.. Colored Lights for the teleporter beams would be awesome. Also colored glowstone in dimlet worldgen would be nice.
And wow, the flooded caveworld is going in the *next* release? You must really have liked that idea I think that'd be a lot of fun to play in.
I didn't even think about colored glowstone in the dimlet worldgen! That would be amazing with a submerged cave! It would really be something people aren't used to seeing, and that my friend, would rock.
In fact, you should throw up apoc buckets, some colered glowstone and flood a cave partially so we could see what it would look like. >:D

It is not that I like that idea so much. It is more that it was SOOO easy to implement :-)

Hey could you add a chunk loader in your mod that uses RF ? I know there is the one in MFR , but it sucks the mess out of RF , and I am not to fond of it . I know chicken bones has one , but its free , and I think one that uses RF would be better . Also the wireless Red stone sounds cool cant wait .
I've been playing around with the build n34, trying to make a mining world. Got this on teleporting to a freshly made Dimension:

Can you tell me the description of the dimension? When you created the dimension RFTools dumps a description of the dimension in the log so it should be there. Otherwise you can shift-right click with the dimension tab to get the info.

Waw finally someone who uses my endergenic generators :-)
I'll check out if I can find something wrong with the infusion. I will let you know if I find an issue.
Ok, found the problem. I did the infused calculation wrong. I will fix this for next release (which will be for later today). BTW. I'm interested in seeing your setup. Also you should be getting a LOT more RF/tick out of it so I'm guessing you're probably just using my example setup from the wiki (which is sub-optimal)?

Later on today I'm going to release 2.21 with a number of bugfixes and small enhancements (like two new energy and fluid modules that can work across dimensions and over long distances). I would appreciate it if a few people could test the latest dev build to see if I made any big errors:
Fixed a bug with range checking on the fluid and energy modules. Now the range of 65 works.
Added new energy plus and fluid plus modules. These consume more energy and are harder to craft but have no range limit and can even work across dimensions.
Fixed the energenic generator so that it actually produces more power when infused (as opposed to less).
Made the text and clock modules stackable (16 items).
Fixed the energy module so that it properly shows the total energy of an EnderIO capacitor bank instead of one individual cell.
Improved the GUI of several modules to make it easier to use.
The energy, dimension, and fluid modules have four text modes now: no text, show contents, show percentage or show the gain/loss per tick.
Automation on the dimlet researcher, scrambler, and machine infuser works for real now.
Added Big Reactor cyanite and yellorium liquids to the blacklist since these liquids are totally useless.
Increased the default chance that stone is selected as the base terrain material from 60% to 70%.
Removed some debug spam that sometimes occured when creating a dimension.
Implemented flooded cavern terrain type. This is a cavern of height 128 which is totally flooded with some liquid.
Added a new Shallow Ocean feature. This adds a shallow (height 30) ocean to some void type worlds (currently only island, islands, plateaus and chaotic).
When a feature type is selected randomly, only features that are actually possible given the type of terrain will be selected. i.e. no ravines in a void world. No shallow ocean in a normal world and so on.
Some dimlets give a bonus in RF/tick. This was shown in the tooltip as a -<x> RF but that actually means -<x>% RF. The tooltip has now been fixed.
Implemented mouse wheel scrolling support in several of the gui's for RFTools (everywhere a list is visible).
When upgrading a crafter from tier 1 to tier 2 or tier 2 to tier 3 the upgraded crafter will keep the contents and settings from the previous tier.

BTW. You did delete the dimension folder after doing /rftdim safedel (and exit MC)?

I've reclaimed Id 9 several times. The Matter Receiver is not always generated at the same coordinates. So now I've got this:
You can use /rfttp cleanup
That will clean up all invalid receivers from that list.

Nobody found any (serious) issues with the latest build? I'll wait an hour more and if I get no reports I'll go on with the release.

I haven't had a crash since those early problems.. And I posted some suggestions and observations earlier in this thread...
Maybe something on the wiki that explains the different command line options and what they do would be nice.. Unless they are already there and I missed it (again).
Ah missed that you edited your reply. Unfortunatelly I get no notifications when somebody edits a message. But thanks for confirming. I will prep for the release.

This was shown in the tooltip as a - RF but that actually means -% RF.

Extremely minor thing.. The sound when going through and landing at another dimension doesn't play.. At least in my case I don't hear anything.. Could be getting more def than I thought because of old age though
I think I know why. The sound is started at the position that you teleport. But then you immediatelly teleport away from that spot and so you can hear nothing. I'll see if I can make the sound play at the spot where you arrive instead.

Thanks for this wonderful update.. The energy module does indeed show the total stored capacity of the capacitor bank which is nice.
From a balancing point of view I wouldn't mind if the enhanced version of the energy module and fluid one would be a bit more expensive to craft.. The same goes for some other blocks/machines.. But then again, it is a fine balance of having things available early game/mid-late game ofc. I'm swimming in so much stuff of everything that anything is easy to craft for me now P
Yes it is a fine balance. I decided to make the screens not too expensive as in essence they only provide a 'cosmetic/utility' benefit.

I'm now working on adding support for Open Computers. It seems to be working fine. What kind of things would people like to do with RFTools and Open Computers? That may help me set up specific api's for that purpose.

Dude.. yes.. Colored Lights for the teleporter beams would be awesome. Also colored glowstone in dimlet worldgen would be nice.
And wow, the flooded caveworld is going in the *next* release? You must really have liked that idea I think that'd be a lot of fun to play in.
In fact, you should throw up apoc buckets, some colered glowstone and flood a cave partially so we could see what it would look like. >:D
It is not that I like that idea so much. It is more that it was SOOO easy to implement :-)

Cool
Hey could you add a chunk loader in your mod that uses RF ? I know there is the one in MFR , but it sucks the mess out of RF , and I am not to fond of it . I know chicken bones has one , but its free , and I think one that uses RF would be better . Also the wireless Red stone sounds cool cant wait .
