I'm trying to build a 1.7.10 modpack for myself. However, I'm pretty nooby when it comes to minecraft modding.
I installed a fresh copy of Minecraft (1.7.10), installed Forge (10.13.2.1231), then added the AppleCore (1.0.0), HarvestCraft (1.7.10b) and HungerOverhaul (beta.2) mods. I started the game then made a new world. Everything worked fine except for one minor but important thing. I cannot right click any mature fruit to harvest it (by fruit I mean anything attached to a tree - I tested it specially on an apple tree and a few others). A heart just floats away from the fruit and nothing else.
Re: Harvestcraft update and right click to harvest feature
You're in luck, the Harvestcraft update (1.7.10c) just came out. That will get you right-clicking to harvest fruit. Check the first link though. It relates to eating (or activating) the item in your hand when you go to right click to harvest.

Thanks for the heads up. Seems like there's another bug with the new with right clicking in HarvestCraft. I posted about it in their thread.
One other thing. The growth % for fruit is no longer displayed in the Waila tooltip. Is that a feature that should be requested from the author of Waila or HarvestCraft?

Any other food mods going to be supported?
I love harvest-craft and all, but I'm beginning to like the Agriculture mod (winner of modjam 2) alot more. Just because it has a bit less food, models on counters and crap are beautiful, I hate the idea of crafting a pot and cutting board and it magically being cooked in the crafting table.
But I do admire this mod. I never use food mods unless they have balanced hunger values. I hate spamming OP beef. There is no point in using food mods unless I have this mod as well, and it dissapoints me that harvest-craft is the only option when I really really want to use the Agriculture mod.
And is there a way to make hunger overhaul compatible with the Agriculture mod myself.
I hate to ask you to add EVERY food mod here. I could try it myself?
So I click the "Search Items" tab and this happens...

Hey, you've got a setting for "weighted chance normal crops" and reeds and melons/pumpkins... I'd like to see a set of weighted chances for different sets of Pam's crops to be found in villages, based on biome. For a long time I have wanted to see Pam's crops growing in a reasonable way in villages, and I'd like to be able to fine-tune it.
For example, a list of possible crops for Desert villages, and one for Jungle villages, and one for Plains villages, and so forth -- done in such a way that it uses the Forge Biome dictionary so I could do it for Biomes o' Plenty villages as well, or use overall keywords to denote sets that work no matter which biome mods I'm using.
In this way, too, I could ensure that certain crops never showed up in villages (or the game) at all -- like okra, 'cuz it'd be irritating to find a village and see a whole field taken up with okra -- and that others I had to run out and find in gardens or grass or something.
Could you add this sort of compatibility to Hunger Overhaul?

My YouTube channel is currently on hiatus, but I hope to get back to it at some point. Content is fairly random, but can be enjoyable, and is mostly game footage (mostly random Minecraft clips) from my nephews and me. Most popular MC vid so far is the one Vechs laughed at on Twitter!

I like that idea. I wonder how difficult it would be? The only thing I can relate it to is the way village houses are made from different materials depending on what biome they're in, but I don't think that uses the biome dictionary. I really don't know. No idea if it's possible but it would be nice.
# Changes the replenishment value of vanilla and HarvestCraft foods
B:modifyFoodValues=false
Is there any way of making this a bit more configurable? Playing on hard difficulty with this enabled makes a cooked steak only 1 hunger, which is very harsh (especially combined with spice of life and some other survival mods). I assume these modified food values are based on difficulty. Could it have some of scaling option similar to :
# Other mod's food replenishment values are divided by this ('modifyFoodValues' must be true)
I:modFoodValueDivider=1
I'd like to have hard difficulty game mode, but more generous on food, but not as generous as default vanilla (which is too generous)

You're after the "difficulty scaling" section of the config. Either change this
{
# Enable/Disable all difficulty scaling effect in one setting
B:difficultyScaling=true <---- to "false"
Or change the individual settings just below it
# Effects of bone meal dependant of difficulty ('difficultyScaling' must be true)
B:difficultyScalingBoneMeal=true
# Negative effects on low health/hunger scale by difficulty ('difficultyScaling' must be true)
B:difficultyScalingEffects=true
# Healing rate scales by difficulty ('difficultyScaling' must be true)
B:difficultyScalingHealing=true
# Hunger loss rate scales by difficulty ('difficultyScaling' must be true)
B:difficultyScalingHunger=true
# Hunger value after respawn is affected by difficulty ('difficultyScaling' must be true)
B:difficultyScalingRespawnHunger=true
}
Then it's just a matter of setting the specific food values you're after

Thanks, but nope. I have them all enabled. My query is about the rebalances to vanilla food saturation/replenishment. Hard difficulty is too extreme a change, but default vanilla is too easy.

Sorry if my post was confusing. What I meant was for you to try disabling them. Then the food rates, hunger loss, etc won't scale with difficulty. I was hoping that would leave the HO values at the Normal difficulty (ie as if you were playing with HO on normal difficulty. Not the default Vanilla values. They're way too easy. That's why we need HO)
I tried to find information on this but couldn't find it. Will harvesters like the RotaryCraft fan or the MineFactory reloaded harvester still work given the changed right-click to harvest mechanic?
Thanks

Heyo, HungerOverhaul did crash our server after a few seconds.
http://pastebin.com/6hhvZ6mt
We have more than one crashlog. It is always the same. The only line what is changing is the Entity ID.
Sometimes 90, 93, 94 and so on.
source:
if (IguanaConfig.difficultyScalingEffects)
{
difficultyModifierEffects = event.entityLiving.worldObj.difficultySetting.getDifficultyId();
I did deactivate difficulty scaling for the moment and it seems to work.
The crash happened in the animal farm that was chunkloaded. There are only three machines effecting the area:
Chronotyper (Minefactory Reloaded)
Grinder (Minefactory Reloaded)
Feed Station (Railcraft)
I noticed when you grow or break Barely and Cotton from Natura they drop vanilla seeds for wheat. Using Beta 2 and Pam's Harvestcraft along with alot of other mods (in case it matters).

How about some chocolate.
Wow I've had this account since I was 11 years old and I still can't figure out mods.
Sorry if I was ever cringe I was 11.

Either change this
{
}
Thanks

We have more than one crashlog. It is always the same. The only line what is changing is the Entity ID.
Sometimes 90, 93, 94 and so on.
source:
if (IguanaConfig.difficultyScalingEffects)
{
difficultyModifierEffects = event.entityLiving.worldObj.difficultySetting.getDifficultyId();
I did deactivate difficulty scaling for the moment and it seems to work.
The crash happened in the animal farm that was chunkloaded. There are only three machines effecting the area:
Chronotyper (Minefactory Reloaded)
Grinder (Minefactory Reloaded)
Feed Station (Railcraft)
Update Natura.
Thank you. I thought I had recently checked and there was no updates.
I'd really like this option as well.
Which incompatibility is that?
