There's a bug in the latest version (2.4.0type B for Minecraft 1.10.2)
It crash my game at least 5 times.
If I put the equipment made by Tcon on the assemble table and leave for a while, then I open the table. The game crash, but my equipment is still on table. And next time I want to open the assemble table, game crash again.I use the setblock command in destory mode. The equipment and the table never change into item, they just disapper.
By the way.I use forge ...Ehh. 2024version.I cannot remember the long number before.
I'm a Chinese,so if you find some grammer in my comment, don't mind it.
Before you post something on the Tinkers' Construct thread... please read this.
If you have a crash log, READ it before posting it (and if you do, use spoilers). Some stuff should be obvious to where it comes from. Try reproducing the same thing with only Tinkers' Construct or Mantle on vanilla Forge (please do make sure that you're using the latest TiC and Mantle versions). If it still does happen, report it to the issue tracker (Yes, you have to sign up... but it's not that hard).
Last but not least, please do not ask for unsupported versions (1.7.10, 1.8.9) or ask for non-existent ones (1.8)!
I noted a while a go that a few materials, when used as a handle/extra, had traits that effected blocking.
I didn't bother with it as I used a cleaver at the time, but now, I'm trying to use a broadsword/shield combo, so I'm wondering...
Will those traits that effect blocking only work when used as a handle for the battlesign(as that's the only weapon that can block), or does holding a tool with a blocking-effecting trait in the main hand while blocking with the off-hand/holding a tool with a trait that effects blocking in the off hand while blocking with the main hand trigger the effects of that trait?
For some weird reason I'm unable to make gelatinous slime drops on drying racks. I used WAILA to allow me to see the drying progress, and it basically just says Item: Gelatinous Slime. There's no dryness thing to indicate it drying. I've waited several Minecraft days for it to work, but nothing happens. Is it bugged in this version?

Have you dried other items, like rotten flesh, to see if your drying racks are working at all?
I used to be able to place torches by right-clicking with a TC pickaxe in my hand, I am no longer able to do this? I'm using 1.10.2 and the latest version of TC. It might not have been *this* mod that allowed it in the first place(1.7.10) but google tells me it is? Thanks for any help!
I don't think you can do it anymore in the current versions. You could always just place torches in your left hand slot. They'll be placed when you right-click with a tool that doesn't have a secondary function (like a pickaxe), or with an empty hand

Yeah it works with rotten flesh and the other meats like chicken, beef, pork and fish. Just not with gelatinous slime. Wonder what could be causing the problem?

Hmm, my drying racks are giving me leather instead of jerky when drying any meats, except the rotten flesh which still gives jerky. Is this supposed to happen in the 1.9.4 version?
The only way to dsiable it would be to use something like Minetweaker//Modtweaker to remove the recipe of the vanilla tools .. as for nerfing, that maybe able to also be done via the same method, so long as nothing you have norecipes that require the tools you remove youd be ok.
Sorry to respond a bit late xD well that wouldn't suffice either, because there are many recipes where you need the vanilla tools (at least in many mods) and there it would be a real game breaker to not be able to craft them. The nice thing was, that tinker tweaks just made them "unusable in your hands" but still craftable and usable (only in crafting recipes) and that would be what i would be looking for now.
Will the metals/alloy work with the Smeltrey, and will I be able to make tool parts out of them?
If I recall correctly, TC adds support for lead, silver, copper, bronze, and electrum as tool metals, and brass and aluminum brass as cast metals, and zinc, aluminum and tin can be melted in the smeltry to make the alloys. In 1.10 at least.
Meet Iguana Tinker Tweaks. The mod that makes Tinkers' Construct more of a challenge!
Yes and that's the problem, as far as i know Tinker Tweaks has not been updatet to 1.8 or higher, that's why i was asking if anyone knew another mod that did such a thing or sthg similar...
If a config option for this is not already suggested at the Github issue tracker, please do so.
boni was the one maintaining ITT... I'm pretty sure he's already already aware of people wanting an update to ITT or implementing ITT features in TiC 2.

Is there any point to using the Dagger over the Throwing Knives or Javelins? The Dagger only has one use, and requires more materials/parts to craft, and the Javelins apparently do more damage.
Hello everyone, I do not know if this had been asked before, is so huge forum to look for!... Using TConstruct-1.10-2.3.3a, I have been unable to apply the capacity modifications upgrade:
With Nether star, obtail "soulbound"... (?)
with diamond+gold block, got an error : "no mofifier found for goldblock"
Not even try with the notched gold apple (unobtainable item)

The wiki is severely outdated, and even if it was up to date, it has too many problems. I have trouble maintaining it myself with the time I have. When I do have the time, I'm considering recreating every page myself.

Since there are still lots of people using the 1.7.10 version of this mod, the old wiki should not be deleted. It should just be made clear what TiC version it is for.
It's not going to be deleted, it's going to be redone with all the TiC 1 and TiC 2 information sorted correctly. The pages as is are a complete disaster with some incorrect (not outdated) information.

Am i doing something wrong? is this wiki outdated? : http://tinkers-construct.wikia.com/wiki/Modifiers
Thanks in advance!
The wiki is for the 1.7.10 versions of the mod. The mod no longer allows adding modifier slots with those modifiers from the 1.8.9 version onwards.

Wait, Nether Stars give Soulbound now? Awesome. If only I wasn't still using 1.7.10...lol.

Hi Lovely!, thanks for the answer. So, now there are no capacity upgrades available?
