Started playing the Regrowth HQM pack a few days ago. I'm enjoying the synergy between drawer controllers and SuperCraftingFrames, so here's a pic of my "crafting wall". It's like a ghetto version of AE2 cobbled together from two other mods.
There is trim buried under the floor to connect all the drawers and controllers together. (That line of glyph boxes is a few Auto Assemblers from Enhanced Inventories, to automatically upgrade essence dust to extreme essence.)

I hope those are slaves and not actual controllers
BTW, I've noticed that when I harvest all of my essences and then double-right-click on the front of the controller to dump them all, I get a quarter to a half second of lag. I'll count the drawers and then do some testing on that to see if I can get any details.
I have a quick question, as I'm trying to plan out my storage room with drawers/controller. What is the maximum number of drawers a controller can see, before it starts to need slaves?

It never needs slaves, they are for I/O. The limit is as many as you can pack into a 25x25x25 cube. I suspect your tick rate would fall over before you could hit it.
I have a suggestion: an "upgrade" that reduces the default capacity. I like to design automated systems so that a certain number of items get buffered before the excess get sent along to further automated processing steps. Sometimes, the base capacity of even the compact 2x2 drawer is too big for my purposes. Being able to reduce the storage to 2 stacks or 1 stack would be useful!

Aaah, see it now. Misunderstood what 'expose more faces' means. Much thanks.

I whole heartedly second this notion! There are too few ways to automate single stacks of things. I know Thermal Dynamics has a way, but it's simultneously too complex AND too simple. And CC and Logistics Pipes can do it too, but way too complex. I like the idea of the "dirt chest". Like from iron Chests. A single stack of items. It would be SO useful.
I have notised that if the Thermal Expansion mod is installed together with Storage Drawers, I get a system/Minecraft crash when Shift+Right click on a drawer.
I took out all mods and added a few at the time, started MC, added a Drawer, Shift+Right click empty hand.
Until I came to the Thermal Expansion, witch crashed.
Added all the mods we have on the server, except Thermal Expansion, everything works fine, until i add Thermal Expansion.

I have a request. The context is for a modpack where the only early-game storage systems are chests and storage drawers.
First, I'd like a way to hook up a chest, or a chest-like block, to a storage drawer system as a 27x1 block. This would go well with the existing 32-stack blocks (8x4 to 32x1).
Second, being able to dump the contents of a backpack (more generally, any object that has an inventory -- forestry packs, backpack mod packs, bags of holding, etc.) into a drawer controller to toss their contents into a storage system. From what I understand so far, the controllers can accept your entire personal inventory (at least where there are those objects in the system), but when working with things that extend your inventory, it's a lot less convenient.
Third, I'd like to see a 2x4x4 block -- think "take two 4x4 half blocks, and put them in the same block". Same 32 stacks, but 4 items available from one side, and 4 different items on the other side. Think a 3-high by 10 long wall, with two sides of drawers. (That would be 240 items, 120 per side -- that's almost enough for just the wood and flowers, before I even start on the stone types :-)
(In regard to a mod that gives realistic animal genetics):
Would you really rather have bees that make diamonds and oil with magical genetic blocks?
... did I really ask that?
The IInventory adapter has been requested a few times. Over the summer, Scott Killin expressed interest in writing the mod for that, but I think it's a safe assumption that it was dropped. This is relatively feasible with the way the network currently operates, but is more problematic for a more efficient redesign. To support the latter case, I would need to introduce a new adapter component to essentially subnet non-drawer inventories.
If all these packs implement IInventory, then it should be doable. I don't know if they actually do, as they're not blocks that things connect to. Some already support dumping inventories and are compatible with drawers, like Iron Backpacks.
The double-sided drawer has crossed my mind, but I've probably hardcoded the concept of a single drawer face across too many parts of the mod. This is more realistic for a 1.9 version, which is when I plan on a more severe overhaul of the mod internals. This falls into the same category as drawers facing up or down.

In other news, small update is available. Version 1.7.6 for 1.7.10:
Added ability to change drawer style in-place by shift+right-clicking with trim block of desired style.
Added ability to hide upgrade borders by shift+right-clicking with trim block of same style.
Added capacity string to WAILA tooltip.
Changed default WAILA item counts to 'JABBA' style (affects new mod installations only).
Fixed thermal expansion integration returning wrong planks/objects for some drawers in the sawmill.
Fixed drawers spilling billions of objects if broken with creative vending upgrade (thanks Nentify).
Added German translation (thanks wlhlm).
All of the wood packs have also been updated to take advantage of the retrimming feature.

I have an issue with the Drawers that I want to point out.
In Magic Bees it adds bees that give shards of Diamonds, Emeralds and Apatite but in the Compact Drawers they don't compact into Apatite, Diamonds or Emeralds respectively.
I'm sorry if you already know but I just wanted to point this out real quick. Love the mod by the way!

If the bee drops can only combine one way into an ingot, and not be returned to shard form (e.g., they are not fully equivalent to nuggets), then the compacting drawer would not recognize them. You would need to add some overrides to the ore dictionary whitelist via the MineTweaker API.

I've updated both Storage Drawers and the wood packs to their latest versions, but unfortunately I'm only able to change trim using the base vanilla woods.
This looks promising, and I'll be trying it out. I note that some recipes are missing from the OP: The 1x1 drawer, and the trim block(s). It would eb nice to have more explanation of the upgrades, too.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
I did some CraftTweaker scripts for Mystical Agriculture. They fill in a couple of small gaps in MA, and also let you make or duplicate not only vanilla plants, but the blocks, plants and wood from Quark and Biomes O'Plenty. Also spawn eggs for most vanilla mobs! The scripts are here on Github.
Shift+Right Click with an empty hand.

Do you have a line that looked like "Could not load integration module" in your startup log?

Ah, alright. Thank you for the reply!
Ohh, so we can now adjust the look of things?
So, all my blue wood can be in a blue-shaded drawer, etc.
Thank you.

Update time. 1.8 players can smile a bit. First, small update for 1.7.

The 1.7.7 update should be specific to the issue you reported. For whatever reason, I would not expect the TE integration to work for your server.
