It's a neat idea for sure, though I assume you can't trivially recombine powder into petals or petals into flowers, so it would need to be a new kind of inventory that is more like a regular drawer with a 'fallback recipe' rather than behaving like a compacting drawer.
It begs the question though of the broader idea of crafting drawers, which requires some more thought before I could commit to anything. Still got some other stuff on the back burner I need to finish like "paneled drawers".
There is no method of turning powder or petals into flowers, aside from floral fertilizer (bonemeal). While I initially thought "that's a cool idea!", I now think it's not that good idea, because of the whole moving backwards thing.
I'm obviously doing something wrong here with regards to the controller slave units. I placed one controller near the front of my row of drawers and then added slave units every so often (see screenshot) down the row of drawers.
What I'm trying to achieve is that if I drop a leaf block into the controller at the beginning of the row of drawers that it gets deposited into the correct drawer that is on the very last row of drawers down at the end.
Is this possible, what am I doing wrong?
Thank you.
P.S. Yes, I'm basically trying to use the drawers as a sorting machine for the items that I've setup in the drawers already instead of spending 10 minutes dumping the items into the individual drawers themselves.

In retrospect I should have called them IO Blocks or something. They don't extend range; they just give you more places to insert or remove items. Your range is limited to 12 blocks in any direction from the controller.
I'm new to using the Controller. I'm building a system with a combination of 2x2 and 1x2 drawers that is 7 across and 4 high. I'm putting the controller in the middle of the bottom row. Do I need to use trim blocks underneath? Or are trim blocks to be used for larger storage builds?

As long as everything is touching, you don't need them. You would use them to connect around a corner, for example. Or just to have a pretty wood block, since they're as lightweight as any other mass building block.
Not sure if this has been asked before, but are there any future plans to add something like waterproof version of drawers to store insane amount of fluids? This mod would be absolutely amazing (not that it isn't already)
I've checked everywhere I can think of, but I can't find the recipe for the Controller. (Yes I have NEI, but it crashes every time I try to look at a recipe. So.)

Also going to mention what I said in my Garden Stuff thread a few days ago. Work's been pretty busy lately, which is why I've been more quiet than usual on the modding front.

Any chance of getting a config option to swap left/right click actions?
Tl;dr, we use this on our Cauldron server and even with WG protections, people can steal items from drawers - but they can't put them back in. With the ability to swap the buttons, they could no longer steal. (Sure, ForgeEssentials's WG blocks it, but that mod is a pain and a half.)
If this already exists and I'm missing it, disregard, but is there a way to get a drawer to act like a trash can? In other words to simply erase whatever items are pumped into it?

I'll admit that I didn't read all 37 pages of comments before this one, so forgive me if this has already been asked, but have you considered adding a crafting table/drawer that you can hook to the Controller and have it pull needed ingredients from any connected drawer, similar to how AE2's ME Crafting Panel works?
I did my first FTB Infinity world using AE2 primarily, but it got overly complicated once I started trying to setup autocrafting. I reset my private server today and refreshed my world so I could start over again, and I started using JABBA and your Storage Drawers for my system, and I'm already liking it better. An autocrafting drawer would be awesome, but I don't see one in my NEI readout.

Yes and no? I'm not entirely sure about a pure trash can, but there is what is effectively a Void Upgrade from JABBA you can add. Can't remember the name, look at the upgrades in NEI it should be obvious.
@crafting barrels: I'm....not so sure about that? I mean, you have to /do/ something to craft things. Neither this nor JABBA /do/ anything really. So some options: there's things like the Cyclic Assembler, the Crafty Crate (Botania), autocrafting in AE (hook an export bus set to only craft new items up to a drawer, and it will automatically craft the things that go into it if there's room/materials), lots of options.
The concept of a "crafting" drawer works okay. Compacting drawers are basically really specialized forms of a crafting drawer. This was touched upon briefly a few pages back over the suggestion for combining some Botania ingredients into a single drawer like the compacting drawers. They could be useful, but they would never be able to match the capability of AE2 crafting.
There is a pretty decent alternative already available though: super crafting frames. Stick them on controller slaves, and they'll draw items from the rest of the drawer network. Controller slaves were basically made for that. They're cheap (on performance). Crafting frames are just not quite as compact as a 2x2 drawer face.
I wonder if you have a mod that is re-sorting the recipes and not honoring recipe precedence?
I added a config entry at the same time to turn off the fallback recipes, just in case something like this was at fault.

Thank you for responding. Ah, so we can go around corners. This gives interesting possibilities.
This is a really wonderful mod. Love using it with Pam's Harvestcraft.
Any chance of a TerraFirmaCraft version?
This isn't just your everyday shitposting, this is... advanced shitposting.

I've checked everywhere I can think of, but I can't find the recipe for the Controller. (Yes I have NEI, but it crashes every time I try to look at a recipe. So.)
Any hints?
thanks,
(great mod, btw)
