This sounds really useful! I've seen this used on Crash Landing on the FTB launcher (pretty hard but still easy once you get into it) and I was wondering, could there perhaps be an option to have Multiple template maps? Like a Crash Landing-esque modpack but you have the option of different maps to play on. This also might work for Agrarian Skies, because it has multiple maps anyway.

This seems like it would work well for Skyblock Hardcore; does the old-format map need to be opened in a recent version of MC for conversion to new before your mod will accept it as a template?
Is it possible to change the templates world seed? I keep getting a "flatland" type world, even when I single out specific .mca files. And is it possible to have just the chunks from the template map inserted into a new map with a different seed?

ok this mod might be what im looking for im not sure, heres what i need
i like to build very big very time consuming things in survival only, but when i want to add a new mod like biomes o plenty i cant do it unless i restart my world, which is unacceptable after spending 12 months building an epic structure. is this the type of mod that would allow me to "save" a structure or series of structures and instantly transport them to a new world? or does such a thing even exist?

Hi. I'm I modpack developer. I am the creator of several unreleased packs, most notably "Asthenos" and "Astro".
Whenever I try to use lockdown I get an error loading the map and the game crashes. Here's the error: http://pastebin.com/BKRyivKP . Any ideas for a fix?
EDIT: Please disregard this. I am an idiot and did not put the save file directly into the directory.
I'm confused, am i just creating a folder with the map in it and the folder is called template, does the folder have to be in the minecraft folder of the folder that is modded, in the mods folder or in the .minecraft folder?
Go to your save folder and copy the folder of the map you want to be the template to your minecraft directory. You set the name of your template map folder in the lockdown.cfg.

Hey, so, I'm making a modpack and I think this mod might help. The pack involves a skyblock and uses witchery. I;m having an issue involving going to the spirit world. Since the overworld is a void thanks to YUNoMakeGoodMap, so is the spirit world. I was wondering if it were possible to create a template that uses a void world as the overworld and a regular world as the spirit world...not sure if that's within this mod's power.
