Just tried 2.0.5 with Optifine and it still crashes on start up, well as it starts to load/create the world
Would you like the crash report???
Sure thing. And version numbers.

I get a different crash with Forge 1797, but it works fine with the latest. Try that.

I get a different crash with Forge 1797, but it works fine with the latest. Try that.
But sp614x said that OptiFine 1.9 A5, is only working with Forge 1797 And I just tested the latest version on Forge, it CTD on start up as it's not compatible with Optifine yet.
I noticed a problem with the round logs, (that wasn't the case in 1.8.9). Simply put, you can see trough the "roundness" of the log, but the blocks behind are transaprent. The pictures best describes it. So my question is: can you fix it ?
Could this have something to co with the way Minecraft handles blockrendering with models since MC 1.8.9?
(I just read something about a "cullface" and am now trying to sound interesting. )
It would offer me some piece of mind knowing it's not just me, or some other mod/setting that messes this up. I also noticed something similar with cacti, but i need to do some more testing before I'm convinced that it's a bug from this mod.
does anyone know if there is something I can do against gras blocks taking over the normal dirt blocks under water?
Basicly what is does is, that the gras block expands to the dirt block under water, making them gras blocks aswell and thus "removes" all my reeds...
Check the screenshot to see what I meant to say!
Besides Better Foliage I've got the latest 1.9 Forge realease (v1811), Optifine (1.9 HD U B1) and Sildurs shaders installed if that's of any importance.
I'm running the ChromaHills texture pack.
Help appreciated!
Turn off clear water in optifine.
What ID can I put in the "leaves blacklist" section to make it so that jungle leaves apply to "Extra Leaves", but so that oak leaves do?
FIX: crash on startup saying "state.block must not be null"
FIX: X-ray glitches
FIX: Round Log endcap texture rotation
@VL4DST3R I can see on your screenshot that cobblestone was giving you problems. For me, cobble was rendering normally but I noticed farmland was see-through, so... I believe I fixed it, but be on the lookout.
@Datzi: that is vanilla behavior. It annoys me too.
@SnailsAttack1: unfortunately you can't enable/disable jungle and oak separately, as they are the same block (and same Java class), just different variants.

Alright it works for me with Forge 1811, BetterFoliage 2.0.5 and Optifine B1 and no other mods installed!
Damn, you're right, Optifine and BF 2.0.6 do work with Forge 1811.... Now I'm completely stuffed as my timescale mod only works with Forge 1804 or below
Arrh man, there's always something that throws a spanner in the works

ADDED: Russian localization (thx to Nova, Gravit, MrVladocha, Magicmen, Ghostlyr)
FIXED: particles are working again (MC 1.9)
FIXED: config-related startup crashes (MC 1.9)
After a few false starts, I hope BF for 1.9 is stable again. The only change for older MC versions is the russian localization, so if you don't need that, you can skip downloading.
@qNxX: wow, just...wow. That's what a bug report is like, you should be teaching this stuff! It's better to have too much than too little

Hi OctarineNoise, I'm experiencing an issue with 2.0.7 release. Coral is spawning in small shallow 1 - 2 block deep puddles and little streams, even though "Allow Shallow Spawn" is Disabled
Also, I can't seem to get a Coral spawning balance either, I'm trying to make it so it spawns fairly rarely, but when it does spawn, it covers a big area like at least 10-30 blocks. Is this possible with the GUI???
It seems to either spawn only on single blocks but all over the place, or single blocks very widely spread out.
Don't you mean the other way around? Shallow water coral is enabled, but it's not appearing? That's what I observed when I tried testing this, and noticed shallow water coral was not rendering ever since BF 2.0 :S
If it's present even when disabled, there must be something very strange going on. Are there any other mods also installed?
Varying the size of the coral patches should be doable. I'll see if I can mess with the noise frequency. If it works, I'll use it for reeds and algae too. More on that later.

No no, it's as I said, I have shallow coral "Disabled" but it's spawning in 1-2 block deep water, weird right
I wondered if the Dis/Enable button was broken or back to front, but either way, enabled or disabled, Coral spawns everywhere.
Only mods installed: Optifine: 1.9 B1 and Forge 1811, nothing else while testing it.
I'll mess around with it a bit more to see if I can find something, trying more newer and older versions of Forge, with/without Optifine, fresh BF config... etc And let you know if I find anything.
Sure thing. And version numbers.

I get a different crash with Forge 1797, but it works fine with the latest. Try that.
BetterFoliage (1.7.10, 1.8, 1.8.8, 1.8.9, 1.9, 1.9.4, 1.10) - Leafier leaves and grassier grass
CartLivery (1.6.4, 1.7.x) - Pimp your minecarts
For modders: simpledeobf - get OptiFine in your dev environment
But sp614x said that OptiFine 1.9 A5, is only working with Forge 1797 And I just tested the latest version on Forge, it CTD on start up as it's not compatible with Optifine yet.
I noticed a problem with the round logs, (that wasn't the case in 1.8.9). Simply put, you can see trough the "roundness" of the log, but the blocks behind are transaprent. The pictures best describes it. So my question is: can you fix it ?
It would offer me some piece of mind knowing it's not just me, or some other mod/setting that messes this up. I also noticed something similar with cacti, but i need to do some more testing before I'm convinced that it's a bug from this mod.
This being said, does this happen to you too ?
Turn off clear water in optifine.
What ID can I put in the "leaves blacklist" section to make it so that jungle leaves apply to "Extra Leaves", but so that oak leaves do?
Version 2.0.6 released (MC 1.9 only):
@VL4DST3R I can see on your screenshot that cobblestone was giving you problems. For me, cobble was rendering normally but I noticed farmland was see-through, so... I believe I fixed it, but be on the lookout.
@Datzi: that is vanilla behavior. It annoys me too.
@SnailsAttack1: unfortunately you can't enable/disable jungle and oak separately, as they are the same block (and same Java class), just different variants.
BetterFoliage (1.7.10, 1.8, 1.8.8, 1.8.9, 1.9, 1.9.4, 1.10) - Leafier leaves and grassier grass
CartLivery (1.6.4, 1.7.x) - Pimp your minecarts

Logs are fixed ! Thank you SO much, it was driving me nuts x)
Damn, you're right, Optifine and BF 2.0.6 do work with Forge 1811.... Now I'm completely stuffed as my timescale mod only works with Forge 1804 or below
Arrh man, there's always something that throws a spanner in the works
You can say that again
But MC 1.9 is still very young. It'll get better.
BetterFoliage (1.7.10, 1.8, 1.8.8, 1.8.9, 1.9, 1.9.4, 1.10) - Leafier leaves and grassier grass

For modders: simpledeobf - get OptiFine in your dev environment
Nice Now grass looks better!
Version 2.0.7 is released:
After a few false starts, I hope BF for 1.9 is stable again. The only change for older MC versions is the russian localization, so if you don't need that, you can skip downloading.
@qNxX: wow, just...wow. That's what a bug report is like, you should be teaching this stuff! It's better to have too much than too little
BetterFoliage (1.7.10, 1.8, 1.8.8, 1.8.9, 1.9, 1.9.4, 1.10) - Leafier leaves and grassier grass

For modders: simpledeobf - get OptiFine in your dev environment
The falling leaves do not work for me (1.9)
Edit: sry I didn't see the update
Try the latest, I just fixed this.
BetterFoliage (1.7.10, 1.8, 1.8.8, 1.8.9, 1.9, 1.9.4, 1.10) - Leafier leaves and grassier grass

[Edit] Never mind, it was the Curse site, the download link took ages to update to the new 2.0.7 version.
[Bug Report]
Hi OctarineNoise, I'm experiencing an issue with 2.0.7 release. Coral is spawning in small shallow 1 - 2 block deep puddles and little streams, even though "Allow Shallow Spawn" is Disabled
Also, I can't seem to get a Coral spawning balance either, I'm trying to make it so it spawns fairly rarely, but when it does spawn, it covers a big area like at least 10-30 blocks. Is this possible with the GUI???
It seems to either spawn only on single blocks but all over the place, or single blocks very widely spread out.
MC: 1.9
Optifine: 1.9 B1 (Also tried without)
Forge: Tried with versions - 1811, 1812, 1820 (Latest)
Thanks
Don't you mean the other way around? Shallow water coral is enabled, but it's not appearing? That's what I observed when I tried testing this, and noticed shallow water coral was not rendering ever since BF 2.0 :S
If it's present even when disabled, there must be something very strange going on. Are there any other mods also installed?
Varying the size of the coral patches should be doable. I'll see if I can mess with the noise frequency. If it works, I'll use it for reeds and algae too. More on that later.
BetterFoliage (1.7.10, 1.8, 1.8.8, 1.8.9, 1.9, 1.9.4, 1.10) - Leafier leaves and grassier grass
CartLivery (1.6.4, 1.7.x) - Pimp your minecarts

No no, it's as I said, I have shallow coral "Disabled" but it's spawning in 1-2 block deep water, weird right
I wondered if the Dis/Enable button was broken or back to front, but either way, enabled or disabled, Coral spawns everywhere.
Only mods installed: Optifine: 1.9 B1 and Forge 1811, nothing else while testing it.
I'll mess around with it a bit more to see if I can find something, trying more newer and older versions of Forge, with/without Optifine, fresh BF config... etc And let you know if I find anything.
This was working great than i updated to Forge 1.9 1838 and now it crashes.
