Not sure if anyone has suggested this already, but I would love to see old school pneumatic tubes included in the mod. The kind you see in movies used to send messages and small items through tubes.
The item mortar and fan/vacuum works great outside or in larger rooms, but while setting up my steam workshop in a modest sized room the need for more compact transportation came up. Especially since I was trying to use nothing but this mod to keep with the steam theme, and moving items between inventories is difficult with the current tools.
I think with a nifty animation for the tubes and a steam requirement for running the system it would fit right in with the theme of the mod. Great work on it so far by the way, and I am looking forward to seeing what else will be added in the future
I can definitly see this mod being awesome for a steampunk modpack once it can work well with other mods like railcraft.(read as, "more stable", railcraft mentioned because it was mentioned in the op)
I would love to find some way to get a steampunk modpack together ^.^ I already know a couple other mods I think would be awesome, if they are up to date. and if permission can be gotten.

Railcraft, Factorization, Thermal Expansion. Probably more, but those are the most common ones.
Would love to see some support for blocks from Chisel in your awesome pipe concealment system. I made my workshop with a variation of cobblestone from that mod and as a result I can not hide my pipes
Not sure if this has been brought up or not. But I love the steam cooker block that hooks up the furnace. It is really cool. However, I noticed that it only works with the vanilla furnace and not other furnaces. For example the 3D furnace mod or More Furnaces. There furnaces are identical to regular in the way it cooks. It would be really nice to see some intergration for other furnaces and not just the vanilla one Otherwise fantastic mod. I really gotta say

I have to add integration manually for each mod using the heater, so it's difficult to make it work for other mods. Potentially in the future when there are less pressing issues.

Okay no problem. I just wanted to ask to see if you where even aware of it Thanks tho. (if you do make integration for any mods in the future the one I recommend the most is 3d furnace as it is identical to the vanilla furnace and is just so cool cause you can bloody see the items actually cooking. So cool)
umm is this a glitch?(solid blocks marked with stone at base and non-solid blocks marked with leaves)Press that button if i'm helpful

Nope, not happening. Not now, not ever. This is a 1.7 mod and it would be beyond a hassle to do 3 different versions of it.
"GEAR+BOOK" UPDATE... what exactly do you mean? Will we expect working, placeable gears? O:
Gear == Tools/Armor...

I noticed that your github website is out of date, can I contribute by managing/adding to it?
I also do HTML/YAML/Joomla stuff
[Edit] we could even make it so OutcastZeroOne's videos are there
It's not done, and it's been rehosted. Zen plans to work on it, he's a web dev.

by the way, I had no Idea that a comparator can detect the pressure from the gauge
