I'd like to highlight this idea. I've got your machines for almost all my needs, but the Killing Machine basically disables itself by killing all the animals. I'd actually like it to act like the Better Chests mod with the Killing Upgrade, where it always leaves at least two animals as a breeding pair. Having the limit configurable would be nice as well, as I'd like it on the low end (i.e. two) rather than high to keep mob counts low.
I have a... weirdness going on. My iron chopper was working perfectly until I decided I had enough oak wood for the moment and switched it over to birch saplings. It planted the birch saplings successfully, but they refused to grow, even when I spammed bonemeal onto them, although they grew normally when bonemealed in the same position if I removed the chopper. Then I found that the same thing now happens (or, rather, doesn't) regardless of sapling type - no type of tree will grow when the chopper is in place & they're within its active range - so the timing of my switch to birch must have been coincidental. I believe the only other thing that changed around the same time as the issue began was that I started using some "Power Advantage/Electric Advantage" machines nearby (electric rock crusher, arc furnace, oven, growth chamber & controller, battery arrays, hydroelectric & photovoltaic generators, with power cables connecting). I'd installed the Power/Steam/Electric Advantage mods at the same time as Progressive Automation, but hadn't played with them until around the same time the chopper broke. I don't want to dismantle the electrical set up unnecessarily - any thoughts on whether the EA machines could be interacting badly with the chopper, or should I be looking elsewhere for the problem's cause? If it matters, a PA iron planter that's also right next to the electrical machines was still functioning normally last time I checked.
2) Please let us enable higher tier tools in lower tier machines (maybe via config)
I thinks it's okay that I can't use a wooden axe in an stone chopper but why can't I use a flint axe in a wood chopper?
1. Its because of the additional steps needed for Magic Crops
2. I guess your using Iguana Tweeks? TiC tools are not supportable. I have asked this before.
Its up to the mod author to add support for other mods. if he doesn't want to do it, oh well. Carry on.

Please, Progressive Automation mod Author Vanhal and Lots of Food mod author Pifou9000/Pifou92000, can you make your mods work together? Prog. My Avatar? Supergirl. No, I'm not joking, that's really her. The artist is Michael Turner, cover of Superman/Batman #12. Look it up to get a better (larger) view of her.

Does anyone have news about Vanhal? I haven't found any activity since early December. I checked Curseforge, MCF, Github, YouTube, and Twitter. Hope everything is okay.

Having a slight issue since the last 1.7 update (1.6.31) with the Crafter - It doesn't seem to allow anything to pull used (empty) buckets from the grid anymore. Was this intentional? Is there any way to .. fix it?
Normally in a case like this, I'd think that maybe I did something wrong, but machines that worked just fine prior to the update no longer do, and no matter the settings I use with the PA wrench, the behavior doesn't change.
Also seeing some issues with the PA wrench itself where it gets ... stuck? on modes when cycling through them (ie, It'll just set to Disable -> Output -> Disable -> Output rather than looping through all the functions). I don't have any more details on this, as it appears to be fairly random as to when it occurs, or what states it's stuck on.
Greetings!
Congratulations on one of the best early game progression mods that I've encountered!
In saying that, I believe I have found an exploit within the mod.
I was trying to use a Chopper to try and automate a charcoal farm in 1.8.9, and as such used hoppers. Apples seemed to clog up the system, and so i tried filtering them out. The setup is as in the image. The apple hopper (indicated) is facing away from the hopper next to it, and wasnt connected to any chest or inventory.
The idea was to have the apples filter into a hopper that wouldnt lose its contents, and everything else go past to the furnace. By putting any item (in all slots) of the 3rd row, first column hopper (the apple hopper), it's possible for whatever contents is placed in the grid of the CHOPPER (not hopper underneath) to convert to whatever is in the apple hopper.
It's written as One.Six.Five for your version and One.Six.Thirty-Three for the new version.
it's not as decimal numbers, rather as seperate groupings of numbers for versions.
I've found that you have to pump stuff back into one of the sides.
something seems to be wrong here. maybe it's just me but i don't get the machine when i put in the items.
ugh never mind i figured it out.

Compatibility is upto pifou but he refuses to use the forge dictionary to register his crops
Jolicraft Support for Progressive Automation
I've finished adding support for Progressive Automation in Jolicraft's style. You can find the release here.

Is there a way to use TiCon tools in 1.8 with PA machines or has it not been implemented yet?
@Raum: Crafting issue fixed.
@carTloyal: TiCon wasn't out for 1.8 when I originally ported it. Will look into adding back support for that asap.

Any chance of adding support for Biomes O' Plenty.
how come i have version 1.6.5 for mc 1.7.10 but in the downloads the latest for 1.7.10 is version 1.6.33?

ah ok, thanks for the clarification
