Are you tired of your Steve grabbing everything in sight as soon as he steps on it? Sick of grabbing that stack of useless dirt you just threw out?I wrote a small plugin to fix this. This stops you from automatically picking up anything.
(New in 1.7.2) There are three modes: auto, manual, and individual.
Auto: Standard pickup behaviour Manual: Auto-pickup disabled. Press 'F' (configurable), to pickup all of the items around you. Individual:Same as manual, but you ONLY pickup items you are looking directly at when you press the key.
Cycle through them with 'GRAVE' key. Configurable in settings.
This mod SHOULD work in multiplayer as long as the server has the mod as well. I don't play multiplayer so I haven't tested this. Please let me know. Unfortunately, it is not clientside only.

-I want to make this completely client side. I need to find a way to intercept the event that's not server side. -Update to 1.7.X

Thank you so mush for this mod. It is a much needed addition for anybody who hates automatically picking up all the trash they don't need and eliminates the need to dig a hole in your base to throw away all that useless junk that clogs up your inventory. Thank you again.
Bug Report:
If you have an item in your inventory, you will automatically pick up all of that item regardless of what mode you are in. I am using the latest 1.7 release at the time of posting this.
It is a little buggy for the 1.6.4 version. Besides that the download like has been removed, I need it with the most recent features from 1.7.2 please.
The Mildly modded modpack has a 1.6.4 version. If this mod is to be remade, all a person needs to do is; create a key event which is sent to the server, a subscribe event to pickupItem event which is cancelled if the key press is false.

This mod would go greatly with realistic item drops, and RPG mods. The problem is there's nothing else like this and it only supports a select few updates which makes it problematic

Is there a toggleble button to temporary turn off the feature?
No, not yet. I can look into adding one, possibly enabled by the config however.
I have a good idea for your mod. Maybe GUI for discarded items around the player?
