did you gonna port this to 1.9.4 soon or you stopped working in this mod ? i would like to make a music pack for pokecube but it is for 1.9.4 and 1.10 now
Situation: The Player is standing outside at night under light source (Lightlevel 14)
Expectation: The landlight- or waterlight-music should play
Actual result: the landdark- / waterdark-music plays
I tried playing around with priorities without success.
I tried playing around with lighting tags without success.
Also when only dark and light music is defined (not sun and moon) the mod won't play anything (default mc-music is turned off) when the player is outside (doesn't care if day or night, doesn't care if there is a blocklight source or not).
What is wrong here?
Thanks for helping
I did further research about my problem and tried again playing around with time- and weather-tags without any success.
This is a bug! The lighting:light condition is NEVER true when outside and this is screwing up everything!
Try it:
- turn off default music
- make a music pack with one track played with the tag lighting:light only (of course with the right syntax)
- put yourself outside at mid day ingame; nothing will play (it's called dayLIGHT)
- put a lightsource besides you, still nothing will play
- wait for the night with the lightsource still there, nothing will play
- go inside a cave and turn on a lightsource, aaah there we have some music
- go inside a lit house without a window, yes we have some music
- put a window in there and stand nearby (it's still lit), nothing
Please fix it. Thank You.
BTW: Is there a way to define a boss music for all bosses, like there was in 1.6.4? (1.6.4 was much easier than all this JSON stuff; just sayin')

Excuse my accent, I'm from South Germany...
Is there a problem concerning the JSON's inability to play the song when I'm on the moon? I have put it through the JSON chec tool and it seem to validate it but when in-game, the music is not willing to play.
Another one needs some help with this mod! It seems that the JSON checker you supplied in your wiki does not like either of the examples provided under the Boss category. Either there's a bug, written incorrectly or I'm just doing it wrong. Occam's Razor says it's probably me.
EDIT: Turns out it's just me. Turns out the SAO Music Pack on the main page has some working examples of boss music. Also that music is apparently awesome.

Game Version: 1.7.10
I've done some meddling and removed the blacklist. It probably caused a bit of chaos in there and was pretty redundant as you had it limited to the Moon. Here's the working code:
I'm going to repeat what I said on other threads. You asked abit nicer, I respect that, but this is a tired subject.
Please refrain from asking a already too well known subject, as it is now considered borderline spam. Modders are aware of 1.9's existence and I'm sure they'd post something if they wasn't thinking about updating.
Also, to some degree it is rule-breaking (spammy), and also distracts/discourages modders.
I'll be honest and say that I don't think there's anything wrong with asking Is this intended to come out for *version number*, especially when "out of curiosity" is clearly stated (clean intentions), unless the version is older than the mod's current version (which would imply pressure upon the mod author to backport). This question has a simple yes/maybe/no answer. Some mod authors just completely disappear or say nothing about their mods, which leaves other people in darkness waiting (usually for months, before the mod is pronounced dead) for news.
I'm not trying to be rude to any mod author at all, so don't misunderstand my purpose here; I fully understand how difficult it is to create and maintain a mod when we all have our lives; but I think that even a "maybe" is more than enough; because sometimes we just want to hear a flat out "no" rather than cling on to a bit of hope, checking the thread daily, waiting for a mod author to actually reply.
The author of this amazing mod replied with "I'm busy" recently, which is very understandable and a very sufficient reply. In my opinion, an annoying question would be anything that includes backports, anything that is repetitive (say, the person doesn't read the thread and repeats a question), or anything that includes "when will". Then again, I'm not very well informed in these things you call "rules" on the Minecraft forums; so correct me if I'm wrong. I myself have asked a few mod authors on their threads if their mods will continue on to new versions and have had no problems with their replies, especially when I show clean intentions.
EDIT: Also wanted to tell the mod author that your mod is insanely amazing; thanks for putting the effort into creating it; looking forward to future versions (if ever). :3

Thanks pal. I also found out, through some troubleshooting, that I found out that the ogg was the problem. So I took another mp3 copy and had Audacity export it into another ogg, and replace the old one.
Works now. c:

Love the mod...Just what the doctor ordered...
Is it possible to add the ability to see what track is playing, it kinda me work out what group tag song is playing when I have multiple groups. I can judge whether or not I have enough tracks in a group or fi a group is playing at all. It would be nice to know the track anyway really.
I use this with JAS and play just to listen to the music as much as I play to play...
sounds very nice! It´s not working with 1.12.2 :-(
Any similar mods out there?
Yeah, check out the Ambience mod by Vazkii, which works for 1.12.2. No need to work with .json files, either, it's reminiscent of the way MusicChoices worked before 1.7.10.

ah o.k., nice - thx. And the music switches if i am underwater. So if i go underwater, come up, go underwater all the time the music starts again and again - even if only go up for 1 second and 1 second under water?

Probably - if a certain song type in that mod is bothering you like that, I'd suggest disabling it and only having the more major song types play.

Thank you, Manana6619. I think you missunterstood me. I discribed it a little bad. I will try it in another way:
1. Second 1: i go underwater
2. Underwatersong start immidiatly
3. Second 2: i go upwater again
4. The Upwatersong starts immidiately
5. Second3: i go underwater
6. The underwatersong starts immidiately
If you are walking between 2 regions, this problem can occour, too. So i ask me, if the songs are plyed immidiately or if there is some fadeing-time. So if you stay more then 1 minute in the new biome or underwater, the sound changed. Or if it is directly.

It doesn't work in 1.7.10, am I doing something wrong? It plays vanilla music in menu. This is my sounds.json:
Edit: also there is a big lag at the beginning.
Edit 2: I just realized that there is a json editor and I pasted my file here. No errors. Or am I doing something wrong again?
Edit 3: Are you ignoring me? You were online after I posted this.
Edit 4: I just realized that Aether does this strange thing with menu music, other tracks work properly. Are you going to fix this? I need Aether and your mod in my modpack.
Edit 5: Sorry for so many edits, but what's this error? It pops up in the log even without Aether...

Not sure I'll get a response here, but just curious..
Is there any way to use this mod with the Blood Moon event from the mod Random Things? Taking a look at the wiki "event" list, it seems the answer is probably a big "No" but, wondering if there is an undocumented option of using custom events from other mods?

Is it possible for music added with this mod to also appear as a music disc in game?
Not sure I'll get a response here, but just curious..
Is there any way to use this mod with the Blood Moon event from the mod Random Things? Taking a look at the wiki "event" list, it seems the answer is probably a big "No" but, wondering if there is an undocumented option of using custom events from other mods?
