1.7.10e - Quick Cake Update
- Added all my cakes as blocks you can place down and eat using their respective item
- Each cake has a number of slices based on their food value when eaten as an item
- All cakes now give an even number of food points to have slices make sense
-- Known Bug: Cake block rendering still assumes six slices
I don't know why, but either I'm EXTREMELY unlucky, or harvestcraft seeds are not dropping from grass or hoes. Is this intentional? If not, how can I fix it? If so, how do I get the seeds?
HarvestCraft seeds no longer drop from grass by default in 1.7.x. You will need to edit the config file to enable it for certain/all crops. Alternatively, if you find "gardens" and you've collected the crop items from them, you can place them in the crafting grid to get the seed for that crop.
Surprised no one has mentioned this yet...or perhaps it's just the modpack I'm playing.
Cranberries are not right-click harvestable. Cranberries are unable to be planted unless changed to seed-form. No problems with the many other crops I've used. Modpack I'm playing is a quasi-updated version of ImpactFlux [VanitySet posted an updated version on GitHub] and I've had to downgrade/upgrade/add mods to make some things work correctly. Version of Pam's is 1.7.10c.
Huh...right-click harvest seems to work this time around. I think memory is playing tricks with me, as I recently restarted this playthrough. All Vanilla crops do not respond to right-click harvesting and cranberries are only able to be planted from seeds.
@Pyure: Yes, this mod is still getting updates, in fact it just received an update about a week ago.
And yes, the issue you described is known and there is a config option for it. No need to "flame you into the ground" for missing that, though I have to admit that I wonder why you didn't just do a search for "salt" in the config. =D
Said config option is found on line 70 in my version of the config file, named "B:enablesaltfromwaterbucketrecipe".
Should you have a problem like that in the future I recommend using a mod like "Minetweaker" that enables you to simply disable crafting recipes for certain items even if there is no config-option for it in the respective mod.
Appart from that it is possible to use a ThermalExpansion pulverizer to pulverize salt; the item, not the ore. The output is two salt, which you can again just pulverize to get twice the input. So should you have TE installed you will have infinite salt anyways.
Agreed on the first point. And allow me to say that I appreciate your patience; I got the report while at work and followed up on it (poorly.)
Ironically, I botched/misinterpreted the entire problem regardless. It was, in fact, the second point you raised: infinite salt via the oredict that they were griping about:
I'm given to understand that PHC salt is registered incorrectly. PHC salt is registered under dustSalt (correct) and oreSalt (incorrect).
As an immediate mod incompatibility example: GregTech is not capable of deciding which version to use, so first it uses dustSalt and unifies the salt to GT version and the macerating recipe is gone (good). Then it unifies to oreSalt and the macerating recipe is back present (bad). As a result, you can re-macerate 1 dust into 2 dusts over and over again infinitely.
I use GT as an example but this will be true of any mod which performs ore duplication using the oredict (I understand the TE pulverizer is affected as you mention)
I've asked around and the impression I get is that this isn't any issue with GregTech (or other mods that consume the oredict properly), but that it shouldn't have been registered as oreSalt in the first place.
Can anyone clarify? (Minetweaker wasn't able to resolve this due to order of operations)
I'll be honest: in a lot of packs, this wouldn't even be an issue. Its only a problem in "challenging" packs where salt as a resource factors into the difficulty.
My friend got me back into minecraft for the first time in about 8 or so months last night with a new mod pack, which included the 1.7.10C version of Harvestcraft. While I was working on making a new garden to feed us, I noticed that about 20% of the time, when I broke a full-grown plant or tried to pick a full-grown regrowth plant, I would get absolutely nothing from the plant, no seeds, no fruits, no veggies, no grains, no nothing, nor were seeds dropping when I accidentally hit a few immature plants. I know in past versions that you always got a seed if you broke an immature plant, and 2-4 crop items from breaking a full grown plant.
I looked back a couple pages, but didn't see anything about this issue in it. Is the version I'm using bugged, or was there a change to the way crops are dropped since the last time I played? (And no, there's no HungerOverhaul anywhere in this pack.)
@MatrexsVigil is there a fix for the water barrel in the line?
When using an empty iron bucket on a water barrel the bucket is consumed and returned as a full water bucket [into another inventory slot].
Not really a big deal but kind of a nuisance.
Would it be possible to disable certain presser recipes and/or disable certain crops? I mean, soy is just so incredibly overpowered, it's such easy meat and milk.

Hello! <3
Crops now drop between 1-4? crops when broken. However, since they are all auto-replant crops, the game uses up one of those drops to instantly replant so effectively the drops are 0-3.

@MatrexsVigil I love the new stuff you added :D. btw are you gonna be in your Irc channel? as its outdated

I let folks disable Tofu as meat because in game terms, it really can be over powering. You can grow soybeans waaay faster than cows/etc. This might be a problem on some servers.
Use Minetweaker to get rid of items/recipes you don't want that bother you.
Thank you.. much appreciated ....

I was wondering how to disable the "crop grows best in" for crop seeds?

Also I love the barrels regardless.
