There were 3 water source blocks in the cave, 2 of which had either a wood slab or a dirt block infront of them. The third one is right under the "spider tunnel " but it flows no more than 5 blocks. No way the spider was somehow washed down from the surface. But if black widow spider was not a surface mob, that explains it all.
Black widows are supposed to follow the same spawning rules as wood spiders, except they're restricted to jungle biomes. So I don't know what happened.
#1 - The "enter day number" box could keep the focus when the day number is deleted. This would allow deleting the day number and then immediately entering a new day number, without needing to leave do a "keyboard -> mouse -> keyboard" swap.
#2 - Set clock button could open a grid of GOLD CLOCK ITEM icons, showing all of the possibilities for the clock item (I think there might be 24 28 or 32 of those) instead of only a few choices.
#3 - Another box to enter a server name or IP address) and it then syncs directly with that server's date and time? (or maybe a one-shot "Synchronize" button to be more bandwidth friendly) -- Not sure it this is possible without being Logged into the Minecraft Login System.
Thanks I'm really glad you, Avernite and others like the web app! Also I appreciate the suggestions too.
I always thought this would work better on a server, actually I've been opening my game to lan so I don't accidentally pause it and get the time out of sync. I've also been running this on my phone beside me as I can see it at a glance that way
1# Good Idea, I was going for a 1 time date set as the app will automatically increase the days when the clock hits midnight, or you fast forward with the clock settings.
2# I chose the few times as they were the easiest to sync up with the moon right above, or just waking from the bed (naturally of course). I'm not certain, but are you suggesting the clock icons to set the day by the hour? I don't know what the exact time is for each clock position. What if you could edit the clock time like you do the days?
3# I really like this, but am not sure how the MITE server works especially for connecting. I'll look into that as that would be best case use. BUT do you have advise on setting up a mite server? I'm trying locally but there is no run.command file or do you know the actual command to start the server in the terminal. (I'm on a mac).
Thanks!
Never mind I got the server running on the mac. If anyone else needs it this is the terminal command to run (from the folder with the MITE 1.6.4 HDS jar file):
How to preform the giltch: Drop one stack of whatever you want to dupe on the ground and pause-unpause the game until the stack of item is in both you inventory/hotbar and on the ground, save and quit the game and log back into your game and there will be TWO stacks of item in your inventory!

How does it work?

Next MITE update: (just kidding)
-Fixing item dupe glitch found by Phoenix_209
-when Phoenix_209 tries to login to any MITE server, single player world or tries to respawn, give Phoenix_209 wither 99999 seconds
Apparently I was way off, the Minecraft clock texture seemingly uses 64 frames. Dunno how that converts to clock times either.
A couple hints for setting up a mite server (still learning myself):
First open port forwarding for port 25565 on router and making an exception for Minecraft on firewall.
Then some kind of free IP redirect service to show the world a "stable" IP adress so that your players can always access through the same server IP address in order to avoid dynamic DHCP problems. RThus if your ISP modem or router changes your IP, you just update that to the IP redirect service and voilà, your players are none the wiser.
Also, a server costs electricity -- Leaving a PC running 24/7 for a server tends to add up. SSDs save a bundle in the long run over a HDD.
I really have zero experience with macs sorry. Good luck!

I couldn't replicate it in R138. Managed to get a perfectly timed one when the item was still on the ground but also in the hot bar, but when I saved and exited and then came back in the one on the ground was gone and I only had one in the hotbar. Was this on a server? Might require a slower computer if its a single player world.
Presuming Macs will run a batch (.bat) you can paste this into a notepad type program, save it as Run Server.bat and then execute that instead. You should probably take out the nogui command as the gui window is actually a bit nicer to work with.
Paste the following:
@echo off
cd "%~dp0"
set megabytesStarting=2048
set megabytesMaximum=4096
echo.
echo Starting MITE server with %megabytesStarting% MB of allocated memory.
echo Maximum allowed Memory is %megabytesMaximum% MB of Memory.
echo To stop the server type "stop" and then press enter
echo.
java -Xmx%megabytesMaximum%M -Xms%megabytesStarting%M -jar 1.6.4-MITE-HDS-R133.jar
In this case I refer to a .jar file named 1.6.4-MITE-HDS-R133.jar but it can be named whatever you want it to be. Make sure you are happy with the MB values for megabytesStarting and megabytesMaximum. The above settings would be good for a computer with 8GB (8,096MB) of memory. If you have less then you would want megabytesMaximum to probably not exceed 50% of your total available memory.
I was curious as this seemed like a way too major exploit hole. Pura, it works. But your the timing has to be good though.
Actually, to exploit that duping bug, you don't need to flicker as many times.
The item will only be picked by the player after entity->PickupDelay (in game ticks). Usually in MITE that is about between half a second and one second. So before that time, just wait a bit before starting hitting Escape and doing the "flickering".
Here is how I do it:
I wait about half a second then hit ESCAPE, thus a tiny bit right before the item would be normally picked up.
Then I take a deep breath, and start do the flickering in EXTREMELY quick pairs of hitting the ESCAPE key. I pause a tiny bit between each pair. I keep my eyes focused on the inventory slot where the item WILL appear when picked up, and my ears focused on the "picking up an item" sound.
The very first pair where the item appeared in inventory, but the item is also still on the ground (and not already flying in the air towards you), *AND* I also heard the "pickup sound", is the time to Exit the World and then come back to it. Note that I am not fully exiting the game, just the world. When I come back, I will hear the item pickup sound again, and the item got duped.
Pretty sure this will be fixed very soon, as it is (after a ltitle bit of practice) wayyyy too easy to do, anywhere, anytime, with absolutely anything.
EDIT: Not quite tested well, but possibly the angle you throw it might also be important. i.e. I think if you throw it too near, the item gets "really" picked up the instant it could be picked up, instead of staying "in flight" for a few game ticks (and thus existing as both a new item in inventory, and as an item entity floating/moving in the environment).
EDIT #2: Confirmed - on another PC, the bug doesn't seem to happen at all. Weird.
Creative mode was there all along you just had to find it.
LMAO, I love how Avernite's idea of creative mode is just some extra blocks that you still have to find yourself first and with all the other insane difficulty intact
I'm not even going to be tempted on this one, I'm not here because I like to do things the easy way...
@Ouatcheur
I got the server running on my mac, but unless the ability to query the server time is built into the Minecraft it doesn't look like we're able to get the sync button for the time. Just have to sync it based on it's position in the sky... but if you're using it for a server it only has to be done once per game. I'm still thinking on improving it though... at least I fixed your 1st suggestion though.
Presuming Macs will run a batch (.bat) you can paste this into a notepad type program, save it as Run Server.bat and then execute that instead. You should probably take out the nogui command as the gui window is actually a bit nicer to work with.
Yeah they have something similar to a batch file. I'll write something up based on your suggestions, thanks!
What I wonder is how you can make the bug appear so reliably. I have to try tons of times for it to "work". NOT duping costly stuff (i.e. metal!), only... fishes! Of which I have already TONS TOO MUCH. Basically, testing the bug.
IMHO it's a timing issue that appears more easily when some copmponent be it CPU GPU or RAM gets is taxed somehow? Say, Java garbage collector getting "in the way" or something. I know that I can't reproduce it at all with a brand new world.
Hey, maybe I wanted to post a picture of myself in full plate armor, holding a warhammer, with an anvil next to me, with the "MITE ain't that hard ya know!" chat line output, right under the chat lines "/day" and "It is Day 1 of this world." That would have been good for a few laughs.

Yeah I have not been able to re-produce it at all even throwing further away from me. Stupid I7 processor!
Items with a higher stack size seems to be a lot easier to Dupe than items with lower stack size. It takes me about 20-30 tries to dupe blocks but only takes a few tries to dupe food and stuff.
Harvest Moon is merely a reminder to go harvest crops before the next blood moon, right? No special effect?

Dang, just discovered that water won't dislodge Rails anymore. Figures! Yeah I agree that it was a bit too easy getting them for free from Mineshafts.
I don't like that mobs get blocked by Rails. I'd just let them move over them. If player wants to make sure his minecrat wonM't collide with a mob, then he should secure his rail system.
Presently it's not really worth it to try making a minecart rail system. At 0.375 iron ingot PER METER, it's too costly and impractical.
Minecarts should have some definite advantage, something that players will WANT to invest the high time and cost to make the rail system.
Lava Idea:
water + lava = explosion of scalding steam i.e. no more easy crossing lava by turning it all super easily into obsidian. Damage is actually two types: very short range, there is some explosive damage (much less than creepers though), and the "explosion" temporarily turns Air blocks into Steam blocks, which deal low amouns of fire-type damage (but don't make you catch on fire), but last as long as you stay inside the steam. Steam relatively quickly turns back to normal air. The only way to safely create obsidian without, is to use either Fire resistance potion (plus not too close to avoid the initial little blast), or direct the water to the lava from relatively far away, or use some remote-redstone contraption, using say a dropper containing a water bucket, plus repeaters to delay signal so you can move away.
Lava could also sometimes spit out a splash of burning lava. With some warning. Like this:
A bit like this sequence here starting at 7:57 in that video qwhere they used a cnnister of something to to artificially trigger that kind of burst of volcanic activity:
First, there is a spray of fire (starting around 8:05). Then it starts "bubbling" more and more strongly (starting arouned 8:10), with afterwards some "splashes" (like at 8:19), then a really big burst (8:24). Basically, the player would get a warnign that an area is "too active" and unsafe, and would (usually) have time to move out of the way. Basically, lava patches would becomes a much more serious obstacle, not a safe highway liek now where you can almost sprint forwasrd with a single bucket of water to quickly convert tons of lava into obsidian, safe in the knowkledge that you won't have mobs spawning in front of you because of all the lava (well, maybe fire elementals, but those are quite rare).
I am not sure about everyone else but I find I don't use bows very often. In the beginning flint is far too valuable to waste on arrows and later in the game i never really have any flint left. There is simply no way I am spending my valuable metal on a disposable item like arrows unless it is really worth it.
Buff Suggestions
1 - Wood arrow, it is just a feather and a stick. Does the least damage but cheap to make
2 - You get more arrows per nugget x2 or x4
3 - Damage or recovery buff
4 - Skeleton archers drop more arrows.
Nope I don't want to over do it. But I think bow and arrows are fun game play and it would be more fun if it wasn't such a drain on precious resources.
If the buff suggestions above sound too much you can nerf without reducing fun by
- Increasing the crafting time
- Putting a level restriction on crafting the best arrows..ie must be level 10 to craft steel arrows
- Increasing bow cost along with durability. For example a steel bow is expensive to make but has great damage and durability
- Wood bows become less effective like wooden swords
- Some mobs are arrow resistant (not proof)...like creepers
I use a sword 99.9999% of the time even though in every other game I ever play I love being an archer or sniper.
Always, let me know what you reckon!
