How do you manage to deal 287 damage? The maximum amount I can is about 60, and that's a critical overkill to a 45 HP zombie.
Yeah, that's great! The individual damage doesn't show the decimal, though. I wanted that since you put decimals on the total damage.
And maybe put the targets available for Ztargeting and their health a little lower, appearing only when you target something.

I do love hearing your suggestions, but I would also really like any feedback you may have on the balance: is the amount of hunger required balanced well enough with the strength of the skill? Do any of them do too much or too little damage? Is the charge time too fast or slow? How about the pace of the skills as they level up?

Added:
+ Toggle auto-targeting of next opponent with '/'; also set the default using Config
+ Up to 3 (by default; configurable) previous hits display their damage in the Combo display
Changed:
- Bomb bag trade no longer costs diamonds, but a configurable amount of emeralds (minimum 32 + random amount)
- Both trades for bombs and bomb bags may be disabled in the config
- Leaping Blow activation using vanilla keys is now attack (LMB) while blocking (RMB) in the air
- Due to change in Leaping Blow, you can now attack normally while jumping
- Combo HUD display shows immediately on first hit when locked on, rather than on the second hit
- Combos don't end until hit timer runs out, even if not currently locked on
(only hits that occur while locked on count towards the combo)
- Significantly reduced the amount of time allowed between successive strikes to 20 + 2 per level (from 25 + 5 per level)
- Indirect damage (such as Leaping Blow) no longer benefits from combo bonus damage, nor does it display individually, but the amount will still contribute to the combo's total damage
Fixed Bugs:
- ArmorBreak activating even after only one click
- Combo attacks not detected as miss when crosshairs not directly on target
- ArmorBreak can hit enemies through blocks
- ArmorBreak charging with LMB even when hitting a block repeatedly
- Held bombs explode even while gui screen is open

Umm, that's why I ask you to add it. I usually get confused at which enemy I target next. I once change target and instead of an enemy directly beside my former target, I target other zombie far behind. What determines the next target, really?

- Targeting code derp: checked if target could see player rather than the other way around
- Dash could be activated while in the air
- Still able to block / attack during certain moves

Things to note is that Leaping Blow activation is now hold block, then jump; I also made some changes to the way the control code works, so if you notice any oddities, please let me know! I fixed a random derp in the targeting as well, which should make it better than it was, but I know it still needs work. Thanks for your patience.

Again, I'm a big fan of options, so if I get the hp to work while I'm messing around with the names, I'll add that in the config.
As for the targeting system, yes, I know, and I'm sorry. It's supposed to target the next entity closest to you that hasn't been previously targeted, but it's still a work in progress; specifically, I need to add some check to make sure that even if a target was previously targeted, it still prefers that target to one way off in the distance, which it currently doesn't. I am working on it.

That's a good question. I bet they use a lot of the same events, so some funky stuff might happen with the controls or when using their items, but then again, it might not conflict at all. There's only one way to find out!
Major derp on my part bound the toggle auto-target key to '/', which is the command key >.< Sorry guys! So 0.3.4 is out just to fix that:

Er, man I must come off as really dense... sorry, I see what you're saying now (finally).
That is possible, but it requires much more processing than is currently done. Right now, I only check that the current target is still within range each tick, as well as the previous target's id, if any. When the current target goes out of range, dies or otherwise becomes invalid, or the player presses the 'next target' key, that is the only time I search the area for more targets and determine which one should be targeted next.
What you are proposing, while it would be handy for the player, would require the list to be populated and checked relatively constantly to keep it up to date, as well as calculating the relative distances of each entry and changing their position in the list dynamically so that you can target the one that makes the most sense (e.g. the one that is closest to your position that you haven't just targeted). This may not be that big of a performance hit for modern-day computers, but I'm still quite reticent to implement something of that nature.
How do you propose to distinguish between Zombie 1 and Zombie 2 on the list, btw? Unless there was some colored marker above every mobs head that corresponded to its color / name in the list, you wouldn't be able to tell which one on the list was which one in the world, if that makes any sense.
I don't know, just because I can't think of a good way to do that doesn't mean there isn't one; do you have any suggestions on how to better optimize such a feature and give it an intuitive interface? I do totally agree that the current targeting system needs some work, so thanks for sharing your critiques of it.
Right now I think the main problem is it seems to miss targets to the sides more often than it should, ending up targeting entities way off in the distance but more in the center view, as well as not seeming very intuitive which entity will be targeted next (perhaps as a result of the former).
I consider Leaping Blow a sword of 'sword beam'-like effect; it has a shorter range, but is also AoE. Are you thinking one that is simply a ranged attack? I suppose I could make one that has more range but only affects one target, only usable at full health (like in Zelda), but it seems awfully similar to Leaping Blow already. Would you care to elaborate further on your idea?

I do love hearing your suggestions, but I would also really like any feedback you may have on the balance: is the amount of hunger required balanced well enough with the strength of the skill? Do any of them do too much or too little damage? Is the charge time too fast or slow? How about the pace of the skills as they level up?

Added:
+ Toggle auto-targeting of next opponent with '/'; also set the default using Config
+ Up to 3 (by default; configurable) previous hits display their damage in the Combo display
Changed:
- Bomb bag trade no longer costs diamonds, but a configurable amount of emeralds (minimum 32 + random amount)
- Both trades for bombs and bomb bags may be disabled in the config
- Leaping Blow activation using vanilla keys is now attack (LMB) while blocking (RMB) in the air
- Due to change in Leaping Blow, you can now attack normally while jumping
- Combo HUD display shows immediately on first hit when locked on, rather than on the second hit
- Combos don't end until hit timer runs out, even if not currently locked on
(only hits that occur while locked on count towards the combo)
- Significantly reduced the amount of time allowed between successive strikes to 20 + 2 per level (from 25 + 5 per level)
- Indirect damage (such as Leaping Blow) no longer benefits from combo bonus damage, nor does it display individually, but the amount will still contribute to the combo's total damage
Fixed Bugs:
- ArmorBreak activating even after only one click
- Combo attacks not detected as miss when crosshairs not directly on target
- ArmorBreak can hit enemies through blocks
- ArmorBreak charging with LMB even when hitting a block repeatedly
- Held bombs explode even while gui screen is open

Oh, I misunderstood your post, sorry. I'm working on adding in some sort of targeting icon to show which target is currently selected, though I don't have any sort of potential release date for that. I don't know that I'll add the target's hp, but I'll see what I can do about adding the name in the meantime. Again, I'm a big fan of options, so if I get the hp to work while I'm messing around with the names, I'll add that in the config.
As for the targeting system, yes, I know, and I'm sorry. It's supposed to target the next entity closest to you that hasn't been previously targeted, but it's still a work in progress; specifically, I need to add some check to make sure that even if a target was previously targeted, it still prefers that target to one way off in the distance, which it currently doesn't. I am working on it.

That's a good question. I bet they use a lot of the same events, so some funky stuff might happen with the controls or when using their items, but then again, it might not conflict at all. There's only one way to find out!
beta 0.3.4: Fixed major oversight on keybinding conflict

If you're on 0.3.3, you can go to 'Options->Controls' and change the conflicting keybinding yourself, or just update. Don't know what I was thinking on that one. Again, my apologies for the oversight!
p.s. yes I know Tab also conflicts with the multi-player key for listing players, but personally I think it's much better off being used to change targets... no one has complained about it yet, but if you feel it needs to be changed, let me know.

I mean, when you're targeting some mobs, the logic determines which to target next and next, and make a list of those names. The currently targeted mob will have their name marked yellow or other color to distinguish it from the list. When you tap Tab, the list scrolls up, the target is now the one below the former, and the former target's name are put at the bottom of the list. Isn't it simple?

Er, man I must come off as really dense... sorry, I see what you're saying now (finally).
That is possible, but it requires much more processing than is currently done. Right now, I only check that the current target is still within range each tick, as well as the previous target's id, if any. When the current target goes out of range, dies or otherwise becomes invalid, or the player presses the 'next target' key, that is the only time I search the area for more targets and determine which one should be targeted next.
What you are proposing, while it would be handy for the player, would require the list to be populated and checked relatively constantly to keep it up to date, as well as calculating the relative distances of each entry and changing their position in the list dynamically so that you can target the one that makes the most sense (e.g. the one that is closest to your position that you haven't just targeted). This may not be that big of a performance hit for modern-day computers, but I'm still quite reticent to implement something of that nature.
How do you propose to distinguish between Zombie 1 and Zombie 2 on the list, btw? Unless there was some colored marker above every mobs head that corresponded to its color / name in the list, you wouldn't be able to tell which one on the list was which one in the world, if that makes any sense.
I don't know, just because I can't think of a good way to do that doesn't mean there isn't one; do you have any suggestions on how to better optimize such a feature and give it an intuitive interface? I do totally agree that the current targeting system needs some work, so thanks for sharing your critiques of it.
Right now I think the main problem is it seems to miss targets to the sides more often than it should, ending up targeting entities way off in the distance but more in the center view, as well as not seeming very intuitive which entity will be targeted next (perhaps as a result of the former).
I consider Leaping Blow a sword of 'sword beam'-like effect; it has a shorter range, but is also AoE. Are you thinking one that is simply a ranged attack? I suppose I could make one that has more range but only affects one target, only usable at full health (like in Zelda), but it seems awfully similar to Leaping Blow already. Would you care to elaborate further on your idea?
