Moving forward for 1.9.4 will see the removal of BG2 in favor of Minecraft's built in right- and left-hand mechanics. I don't anticipate things like dual-wielding right off the bat, just sword and board for now. Without BG2 to provide their nifty quiver, I will be implementing my own that has similar functionality, as well as a seed pouch for the slingshot.
Things such as dual hookshots, bosses, and most other new content will have to wait until I've caught up to the latest version of Minecraft / Forge.
All of the content from TheRedMajora's addon will be added to the main mod but not really integrated into loot or drops, but still available via the creative tab, commands, etc. With the new loot system for 1.9.4+, it should be simple enough for those that wish to add those items to whatever loot pools they want without touching any code.
I'm really hoping to be building a computer come Black Friday / Cyber Monday this year, and if I am able to afford to do so, I hope to resume work on the mod on a part-time basis during the winter. Progress will be slow due to limited time, but there will be progress.
the fact you will be working at all makes me happy :3
also. in terms of new content... I am thinking of a ring system similar to the oracle games. you are given a ring box which acts as a menu that holds all the rare rings you collect. you can wear one at any given time. and they provide buffs...such as increased attacks (bombs, swords, bows, and boomerangs), defense, speed, and other things.
each ring is randomly found in chests, given away by bosses, or found by defeating a randomly-spawning "golden" enemy.
now, speaking of handheld content.... i thought of another item from the handhelds.
remember the super-broken boomerang from links awakening? well.... heres a thought....
a boomerang that DAMAGES enemies instead of stuns!. this item would be called "the boomerang of dreams." and would be a very hard to obtain item found at the end of a trading sequence similar to links awakening. but, for such a hard-to-obtain item, it fittingly has a damage output rivalling the biggoron sword. in fact, it's pretty much a biggoron sword you can throw and retrieve items with. it is super broken, which is why you'd have to go through a trading sequence to get!
the trading sequence would end in a boss fight with a golden goriya. goriyas are typically enemies that throw boomerangs. this boss throws a VERY powerful boomerang. after beating him, he will drop his boomerang for you to have!
also is there a way we can set the fire rods fire to NOT light tiles on fire? it's kind of annoying to put fires out.
i'd like the fire rod to only be able to light torches and melt unbreakable ice.
ooh. another idea i thought up. i saw in botw there were different types of bows. a bow that drew my attention was the savage lynel bows. what is so special about it? well. they take three arrows to fire but they spread out in a wide arc. with bomb arrows, the savage lynel bow can create havoc for unsuspecting foes.
I am playing this in 1.7.10 V 2.2.6 unfortunately I can not do 1.8 since the other important Zelda mod is at 1.10 and skipped the other version of minecraft. How do you make Zelda in this version I named a villager Zelda she asks me if it can play but nothing happens when I play it. Also is there a version of the user manual for this version of ZSS?
@smashbro596 - I like the idea of a bow that can shoot multiple arrows at once, and it wouldn't be difficult to implement since I already tackled that problem with the slingshot.

There should be the appropriate version of the manual included with the mod, i.e. if you open the .jar using an archiving program such as 7-Zip, you should be able to extract the manual from one of the folders in there.
I'll have to get back to you on the question of Zelda, however, as it's been a long time and I'm about to head out the door! Hopefully it's in the manual.
I got the manual thank you, but it says nothing about the Zelda trading quest. Was that a 1.8.9 addition? I love the mod I know most moders do not update the mod for older versions but if you could add the most recent stuff to 1.7.10 that would be awesome.
coolAlias is no longer developing ZSS for 1.7.10. If you wish to play with the new content, use the version for 1.8.9, or wait for coolAlias to come back from his break to begin developing for 1.9.4 and 1.10.2

Bit of a shame, mods seem to cause absolutely huge amounts of lag ever since 1.8.
I do understand that it's good to keep going with the updated Minecraft versions though.

good on him. a vast majority of zelda maps are unplayable on 1.7.10
also. another small suggestion
would it be possible for masks to have their own inventory?

The best-performing version of Minecraft for me was 1.6.4 - still my favorite by far.
1.8+ is sluggish during startup, but decent enough once in game. Granted, I don't play with mods, so I imagine the performance is better for me.
well, if you do the amount you can make it use none by setting it to 0.
didn't you have a comp die on you and you lost work that hadn't been released yet?
That's what I was thinking - set to 0 to use fatigue only. The value will have to be synchronized to the client, though, which is an extra step but not a feature killer.
Yes, I had a computer basically die. No, I didn't lose any work (yet...) because the hard drive didn't fail and, technically, the computer still boots. It just makes very loud angry noises and gets super hot right away - I'm thinking dead CPU fan but it's a laptop and I'm too lazy to tear it apart myself and computer shops don't want to touch it.
i'm just hoping the new quiver system lets me hold all types of arrows in one quiver.
normal, fire, ice, bomb, water bomb, fire bomb, and light arrows.
I'm thinking a silver variety could be introduced. if one throws arrows into the fountain then the resulting silver arrows deal massive damage to all mobs. it doesn't travel through walls, but when ganon as a boss is added, the silver arrows can probably be what damage him.
This mod was the reason I created an account on this forum. It was because of this thread I said: "Hey, maybe the rest of this forum isn't bad!" It was because of you guys I planted my butt and found my favorite online forum and made countless friends.
So, thanks, I guess (as off-topic as this is...) to everyone who made this one of my favorite places on this site.

coolalias is a cool modder.
ooh. one thing that has bugged me was having to switch the pegasus and zora flippers.
any way we can combine them so i am faster on both land and sea? (in all the zelda games with the flippers and the pegasus boots, they never needed to be switched. leads me to think link wears both simultaniously.)
maybe call them something else? the zorasus boots?

good thing they make HD enclosures that can take a laptop HD and turn it into an external one.

fans rub off this lubricant which stops the fan bearing from grinding and making an awful noise. Computer shops won't take it if the laptop's under warranty so sending it off would be the best option. If its not, I don't see why not.

Yeah, those are great. I've had one for a long time that I use with a variety of 2.5" drives I've accumulated over the years. I've already backed up the critical data from my laptop, but all hard drives die, eventually... better make another backup!

Ha, warranty! I wish my warranty lasted 6-7 years or however long it's been since I bought that computer. It served me very, very well, so no regrets on my part.
I was hoping that Intel's Coffee Lake launch yesterday would have spurred some great sales on the AMD Ryzen processors, but no luck yet as apparently there are very few Intel chips available for purchase. I'm guessing there will be some good sales all around this November and December, though!

that should be in the zelda mod.
You returning to modding will be a gift to us all here in and of itself! Happy holidays in advance everybody!
If regular is Vanilla then what flavor is your Minecraft?

There are backpack mods...
I just hope you make one final update for 1.7.10 with two things:
config for magic use with sword beam
restoring magic by sleeping, and perhaps hearts as you could do in OoT.
Re: Sword Beam magic config - do you mean for the amount, or to use magic at all?
I had implemented restoring magic by sleeping at one point, not sure what happened to it but it should be easy enough to add.
well, if you do the amount you can make it use none by setting it to 0.
