I still find it unusual though. the creeper chicken and skeleton chicken in the overworld are the only ones unaffected by AoA's mobs. Those 2 have also practically taken over the mysterium dimension.
I do not know why it would be doing that. I have not done any testing with AoA and currently do not have a computer to test with.

Just checking up on your mod and looks busier then ever. Had a thought or question really, are you plaining on doing a gast chicken? The reason I asks is that my laptop really doesn't like the neither....all the lava, I think. I would like to go to the neither as little as possible. lol.
If not here's my idea; I was thinking that the Gasken could maybe (if possible) float like 3 or so blocks high for a lenght time then lands. When it's landed it has a chance of droping a Gast Tear when tamed. The way to tame would be by using a Gast's Soul, would be dropped from a Gast.(could look alittle like a Fire Charge) You then feed it to a normal chicken (or Gasken, which would be found in the neither) it will tame and/or change into a tamed Gasken. Where it's body color will be the same as a normal chicken but the beak and lags could darken like ash and the eyes go to a deep red or a burnt orange. To breed would take Gast Tears, may-be, maybe have a rarity kinda of thing where there's a chance breeding will fail. Only cause Gast Tears are kind of rare as it is.
Hope your having a fun summer. Thank you for all your hard work!

I will keep that in mind. It will not be in the next update though.

I really wanna enjoy and play this mod. Its a great mod idea! But you really need to fix the whole Creeper and Skeleton chicken chunk spawning situation. The only chickens from this mod that I have encountered were creeper and skeleton. I saw a user post this earlier stating; "Right, but all of the other chickens NEVER spawn again after the first time the chunk is loaded. Night, day, doesn't matter. You see them the first time the chunk loads, but will NEVER see any of those chickens" After playing the mod for a 5 hours this seems true. I'd appreciate it if you'd look into this problem, thank you.

I have looked into this, and there is nothing that I have found yet to explain why it is doing this, to make is worse, all chickens use the EXACT SAME spawning code, so it does not make sence why skeleton and creeper chickens are everywhere, but no other chickens. Sadly I am currently too busy with work to work on the mod. But I am not giving up on it, and will resume work on it when I am able to.

That's odd....on my server all we're encountering is quartz and glowstone chickens. I've only seen one set of blaze chickens in the nether, and skeleton/creeper chickens only spawn very rarely. Haven't seen any of the other types so far. Are different people with different setups getting different types of spawns?

It's hard to say, as there are so many mod combinations that couldpossibly effect it. The biggest thing you can do is play around with the configs and see what you can come up with.

Hey, I really love your mod like woah dude, it's just the right amount of weird and it's not extremely complex, it's just cool chickens, which is great!
BUT, when I'm in survival all that spawns is ender chickens????? and there's like, a bunch of them????? and they're really hard to fight when you've just spawned, and idk if that's supposed to happen and I'm not even sure if it's like, fixable or whatever.
I'm running thaumcraft and treecapitator, which I don't think would affect it that much but yeah, if you have any advice on how to fix this please let me know!
Has this mod become incompatible in a Skyblock environment? I have 2 grass areas, one in Tiaga and one in Extreme Hills, that have spawned DOZENS of passives and I still haven't gotten a single chicken from Mo' Chickens. Do they not spawn after initial generation?
Now I'm running redstone lamps on a daylight sensor, and still waiting to see if any chickens spawn with artificial light removed during the day.
How do they actually spawn?
P.S., they spawned like all other passive mods back in 1.6.4
This is an issue I have been trying to figure out for a long time, but have gotten no where with I have done test after test, and every time the chickens spawn without much of a problem, but are in general hard to find. But outside of the testing environment, they dont seem to want to spawn. Strangely enough, in 1.8 they seem to over spawn. I am not sure why this happens, but it does. I would love to have this fixed, but it doesnt seem to matter what I do.

While I'm not a modder, I've seen the code involved in mob spawning for 1.7.10. That's pretty strange. They spawned in Skyblock perfectly fine in 1.6.4, so they spawned post-chunk generation, what the heck did they bork in 1.7.10?
I have noticed two differences in the way mobs spawn. 1. Daytime spawning mobs used to ignore block light and spawn passive/hostile mobs wherever, but now they actually look at block light. This has affected 4 mods. 2. They look for an opaque ceiling directly above and surface only mobs never spawn with such a ceiling regardless of height. The opposite is true for underground only mobs. This has affected 3 mods.
So I am pretty sure they expanded on the code for spawning mobs in 1.7.10.
Oh, and question: What kind of blocks are the overworld chickens supposed to spawn on? Maybe grass is wrong (I've had them spawn outside of grass back on 1.6.4 too).
What about having certain chickens spawn in certain biomes? such as clay chickens in swamps, gold chickens in the desert, emerald chickens in extreme hills, lapis chickens for the roofed forest, redstone chicken for mesa only, diamond chicken underground only, and cookie chicken for forests and iron chicken for plains?
The chickens can spawn on almost any block. most of them are limited to spawning above ground, but some spawn below. I did notice the change after the update that was supposed to add support for Magnum Torches, but Ive heard the chickens still ignore them. So I am not sure exactly what is going on anymore. I may do a rewrite sometime in the future, possibly for MC 1.9, but it will not be any time soon. I am currently to busy to work on the mod, and have a very jagged work schedule so it is hard to devote time to the mod. When I do have time, it is hard to find the motivation to work on it as well. I do have a lot of things I want to do with the mod, and have no plans on shutting it down.

This is a possibility with the current version through the configs. I do not plan on making that defaults though. There are only a few chickens in which I have set to only spawn in a specific biome.

Just released a mod spotlight for the mod! As a huge chicken lover, this mod is a fantastic addition to the game. I was wondering though, how plausible would it be to see ridable chickens in the future?
I do not know why it would be doing that. I have not done any testing with AoA and currently do not have a computer to test with.

Thanks for the support!

I'm not sure how practical that would be, especially since there is already the "Snow Chicken"
