Downloaded from your link, double clicked the icon on my desktop and the mod installed itself into my Forge 1.8.0 game. Simple. Started Minecraft, clicked on "Options" and then "Controls" and assigned flying to the "F" key. I can now fly!
My game is single player survival. I don't allow cheats but I need flying ability to clear those floating piles of junk and to help with constructing small houses and such (I get tired of making dirt piles to reach difficult places such as roofs, etc.)
Can't seem to get this to work. I'm using it on my own server with no anti-x-ray mods loaded at the server level. Running Craftbukkit 1.8 on the server. If I fall back to using 1.7.10 the 1.7.10 version of xray works fine. 1.8 does not work at all. Client end is a mac running Java 8 Update 31 with liteloader and voxelmap the only other mods loaded. Xray shows "LOADED" in the liteloader screen but does not work.
I had a similar issue and it had to do with Liteloader. I had to edit one of the final lines of the liteloader json file with notepad ++. The liteloader version was pointing to "1.8"; while detecting xray (it just wasn't pulling from the library I guess). I just changed the "1.8" to "1.8-Xray" (in my case as this is where I installed Xray). Hope this works for you as well.
Gonna poke around with your solution later today but I took a quick peek and my liteloader json file points at the 1.8 directory (which is correct) and also list the exact name of the .jar file further down.
I did see this bit in the log file
10:49:22] [main/INFO]: Inspecting jar metadata in 'XRay-1.8-v2.15.2.jar' [10:49:22] [main/INFO]: Ignoring /Users/........./Library/Application Support/minecraft/mods/XRay-1.8-v2.15.2.jar [10:49:22] [main/INFO]: Adding newest valid mod file '/Users/........../Library/Application Support/minecraft/mods/VoxelMap-Mod-1.8.litemod' at revision 1300.0000 [10:49:22] [main/INFO]: Discovering valid mod files in folder /Users/......../Library/Application Support/minecraft/mods/1.8 [10:49:22] [main/INFO]: Inspecting jar metadata in 'XRay-1.8-v2.15.2.jar' [10:49:22] [main/INFO]: Mod file 'XRay-1.8-v2.15.2.jar' provides tweakClass 'mc.ambientocclusion.xrayinstaller.XRayTweaker', adding to Launch queue with priority 1 [10:49:22] [main/INFO]: tweakClass 'mc.ambientocclusion.xrayinstaller.XRayTweaker' was successfully added
So I'm confused about the "Ignoring" line and later it says "Inspecting...." so what's up?
I got an issue on the Mac with Forge & LiteLoader where it looks for the "~/Library/Application%20Support/minecraft" folder instead of "~/Library/Application Support/minecraft" folder.
I added a symlink for this folder to make it work on my mac.

Question: Can we install it like a normal mod when you put it in the mod folder or do we have to use the installer cause for some reason java installers dont work only .exe ones do

Yep, it is "suppose" to point to 1.8 as intended by Liteloader to keep up with micro updates for Realms but for whatever reason it seems to refuse the changes that XRay needed. What I did was update the json to point to the XRay install library so it used that jar as the comparison jar so in reality it is checking XRay against XRay install. I don't use Realms so this isn't an issue for me. I guess if you play Realms this would get annoying in that you would have to reinstall Liteloader and XRay again after every micro update to be able to play on Realms. This is what my json looks like:
Hey, I want to install on FTB Infinity modpack. That's why i think it should have "mannual" install files. or you can just make it soo we can install it on FTB Launcher Modpacks if that's okay with you.
AmbientOcclusion Please here me out could u please remove all hardened /stained clay or tell me how to because the use of that on prison servers messes it ups
does this work any better than it did before? most servers seem to be running some anti xray stuff where you can't see the ores unless they're exposed to air pocket or by lava, all the ones in the middle require a ton of digging to hopefully get to which you might as well strip mine defeating the purpose of xray.

for the most part X-ray is handy in single player mode where as a LOT of servers class it as cheating and not playing fair so most server owners put X-ray blocking plugins on there servers. nothing that can be done really.

Exactly. Since Anti-Xray plugins actually do things server-side to prevent underground info from being properly relayed to the client, there's absolutely nothing that a client-side mod (as all x-ray mods are) can do to get around it.
In other words, it's physically impossible for any X-ray mod to get around those anti-x-ray plugins.

It has destroyed my server!
