connect the advanced computer you saved this program to a stargate with a wired modem.
run the program
this program will keep the gate open for 20 seconds (outgoing) you can save address to a database, and it will also log incoming gate addresses

I am working on a big program that takes advantage of all the peripheral functions and uses a monitor to show the cheveron letters as it locks in. It will also check if the gate is connected, the other gate is connected currently, trigger the siren and red flashing lamps for incoming gate, and I thought about using MFFS mod to make a rigged iris myself but looks like I can remove that. I may use the MFFS for a blast window or something. Anyway, I will share my programs when I get done with them for the community to use however they wish. I am just waiting for CC to support one of the Redpower replacements as I am not fond of Rednet. It seems thanks to FTB -- ProjectRed will be the successor.

You bet, I want to wait until the new Lanteacraft update comes with the other gates, transport rings, etc as I want to do more with it. That and my facility is outside of the network range and most of the gate functionality doesn't work due to that.

Just to let you know, this throws an error on line 20 about "Expected string".
Both the base of the stargate and the advanced computer are connected via activated wired modems and the same error is thrown.
Alright, for some reason I got it to work by hooking up a wired modem to the monitor instead of just putting it next to the computer, but now after entering an address into the database I get a "parallel:22: startup:248: index expected, got nil" error.

o
ok, sorry about that. the fixed program is here: XfEBXW5W
this doesn't need a monitor now, BTW
Good call. If you release them, this forum turns into a huge Whine Fest (with no cheese).
I thought that they were hilarious! (ok, so a little cheesiness after all).
you have to make one yourself or find one online.
oh, damn. Got any suggestions?

Sadly no, our supplies ran low.. Seems some of the devs might have been taking them home...

strange, its not creating the file for the database.
a quick fix would be to do "edit sgDatabase" save. then run the program
are you sure bother wired modems are active? if there nto active, the program wont work

I'm trying to get CC mounting to work as we speak.
Currently no, I DO have a few more events in the dev versions such as, sgChevronLock: param the currently locked chevron, and others.

sure, probably going to add some things with the new update if they add more gate features for CC
