What's more powerful, diamond armor or lucky armor?
Short Answer:
You should make sure that the armor you have equipped fills as many armor 'shanks' as possible before considering the protection enchants that lucky armor would provide. Diamond Lucky armor is great because it provides a large amount of armor rating in addition to the enchants it comes with.
Ie: If a single lucky chestplate would provide Protection X and 4 shanks of armor, versus unenchanted diamond which would only provide 5 shanks of armor. Then the lucky chestplate would be worth wearing but only because the enchantments are so good.
If it provides only 2 shanks of armor protection (so, basically like leather) but only, say, protection IV. Then it's terrible and you shouldnt wear it.
Medium Answer:
Basically each half-shank of armor provides you with a guaranteed damage reduction of 4%. Full diamond gives you 20 half-shanks of armor for a total damage reduction of 80% guaranteed against nearly all types of damage (except for magic types of damage which ignores armor).
If the armor only deprives you of a shank or less or of armor protection (compared to diamond) in exchange for amazing enchantments (e.g. protection X) then you'll definitely want to put it on.
If you fight enemies that have damage types that ignore armor (poison, harming potions and anything else that deals magic damage), then you'll want to prioritize protection enchants a little more, over armor shanks.
However you should most often try to go for diamond armor, because most enemies have damage types (melee, fire, explosive, projectile) that are reduced by armor.
Most of the standard block drops are there, and I put all the 'decked' mobs in, added a few more towers and block drops, a 'dud' lucky block, and the extremely rare Omega Set. This set of tools and armor can hold it's own in even an OreSpawn-like environment, and would be completely overpowered in vanilla. I'll also make a thread for it.

Cool, love the Omega symbol on it. Really powerful looking.

Stop the mod thieves, for the everlasting peace!(Definitely not a Blue bomber reference)
The gear is crazy rare (opened 100 80-luck blocks and didn't get but a set of boots) but it's worth it, with the whole set you have 100 hp and triple speed, not to mention like 40 levels of protection and etc. You'll need it for the secret boss I added also.
I seem to be running into an issue that a quick google-fu isn't fixing. So I recently started getting mods for the kids. I have Forge, and I have a few mods that work without issue. However, the official download for this gives me a zip file with no .jar files like I'm used to. When I copy/paste the zip contents into the .minecraft folder Lucky Block is the only mod that doesn't load. Yes I downloaded the 1.7.10 Lucky Block and yes I'm using the 1.7.10 Forge profile. Anyone else having this issue? Does this mod install differently than the typical "match-version-number-mod-to-minecraft-version", copy/paste .jar file to mods folder, ????, profit?
im just surprised its not a thing already. if you are going to make one I could help with some of the building I don't know anything about making a server but I can be a builder if you need help)

is there a way to get lucky blocks to drop things from OTHER MODS
?!?!?!!??!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!!??!?!
yes just edit the config, you'll need to know the item and entity id from the mod you want to get drops from
Sorry for the repost, but I'm hoping to find an answer to my problem. When I download the 1.7.10 version of Lucky Block, it doesn't have a simple .jar file that I'm used to for other mods. I figured just copy/paste the contents into .minecraft folder though so I did that. It loads all my other mods fine, except lucky block, and then errors out of loading game consequently. Is there a special way to 'install' this mod that I may be doing wrong? I even copied over the contents of the "mod" folder and put it into the "mods" folder if anyone was thinking that. I'm running forge profile 1.7.10.
