Sad to hear, I do hope you will release your mod to the community, or hand it over to others who are skilled at codding. Only recently introduced to Minecraft, it was your mod that kept me playing day after day, so I would hate to see it fade.
Common man at least leave a stable version for 1.7.10!
If he's not interested in it at all why try and force it all that would happen is we get a half hearted update that could potentially break even more things and lose more features in the process to make it easier on him. That said I hope that he is considering handing over the reins to the other dev that was working with him or allowing it to go open source because I would hate to see this one of a kind mod just go the way of the dodo.
Goodbye, Mithion. I have to say that AM2 is by far the best magic mod I have ever played, and I don't think I can ever play a magic pack without it. This is a mod of truly epic proportions.
For the sake of continuity, will you be naming a replacement modder to help continue AM2, make it open-source, or is this the end? I hope this mod can continue, at least make it to 1.7.10.

Do you mean summon as in the spell or as calling them from the rituals? If you mean the summon spell boss mobs are turned off. They tend to crash the game. If not then I am not sure. Have you tried without the Custom mob spawner?

To clear things up, Mithion did leave 1.7.10 very early, and as a consequence of that, there are many problems. One of the problems is thus, you cannot spawn the Water Guardian, Earth Guardian, And another Guardian (forget the name). And to further more clarify, the XP infusions into your armour does not work, therefore your armour cannot gain XP anymore, so the whole Armour imbuement table is practically worthless. I am very upset that Mithion left his mod in such a state, however it is not my place to judge him. I am wishing that someone will pick up where he left off, Max, where are you?? Anyone out there who has found a fix to the XP problem i would LOVE to hear it. (note this is for 1.7.10)

I am capable of coding but not sure how to get hold of a mod author's permission
I am playing the 1.7.10 version and am unable to create a spell. I have the spell crafting alter built (no change in that since the 1.6.4 version which I was using). When I create my spell I am putting Projectile in the first brown box and Dig on the bottom row. I remove the book, sign it with the spell name, and place it on the lectern. And nothing happens. Tossing the blank rune in does not work and no materials required appear over the book. If someone may tell me what I'm doing wrong, I would appreciate it!

You've likely messed up somewhere in making the altar. Post a pic of it.
I've been considering this for a long time now, and I think the time has come for me to take my leave of Minecraft modding.
It may come as no surprise to some of you, and to others it may be a shock - however, I need to face the truth that MC modding just isn't fun for me anymore. I've been doing it for three years now, and have met some amazing people - but gone are the days when I could sit down on a Saturday and just work all day on adding new features.
I figured it would be an eventuality when I lost interest in playing Minecraft about a year ago. Modding it couldn't be too far behind.
The recent deal with Microsoft was just the push I needed, and even then, with base game updates coming so frequently and changing things so fundamentally - I just can't bring myself to rewrite this mod for what would be the sixth time. Not with the mod being as large as it is. It's just too much for me to handle. Couple that with the fact that I'm working two jobs now, and I don't have the free time I used to, and I can't keep up.
I'm pretty sure that was what did it: the constant rewrites with every game update. It just became stale, and I always seemed to be either fixing bugs or trying to keep up with version changes. Every time I'd get it stable, a new version would come out. I have hardly had the time to add anything new in the last several months.
I feel bad that the mod is in such an inconsistent state at the moment, and I apologize for leaving it so. I have been trying to get a stable version down, but it just isn't going to happen.
I do plan to keep making games, and I plan to do more live streaming when life calms down a bit. Those of you who would like to keep in touch, feel free to add me on any of the following, and chat:

Ah ok sorry I did not know he was using 1.7 I have only been playing minecraft 1.6.4 and 1.8 so i have not used the ars magica 1.7. (mostly do the how buggy i saw it was.) And I remember hearing someone say just use creative mode and you can imbue your armor without xp. I know you can on 1.6.4 but have not tried on 1.7.

Oh, geez. AM2 was one of my favorite magic-oriented mods. I loved the spellcrafting system, but the Hecates scare the living daylights out of me. I REALLY hope you pass the torch to someone else, Mithion. This is a mod that deserves to keep going. This and Thaumcraft are probably the two most popular magic mods out there.
You will be missed. I regret that I did not get into AM Sooner, it's truly an amazing mod and you did incredible work. Hope things go well for you in the future
