My server was hanging around every hour or less, but when I removed the mod everything is fine, I built an altar and spells seen moonstones but this was

That log file indicates it's due to moonstone meteor spawning. There's a bug with void ages from mystcraft/the end/anything that has no bottom block that causes it to hang, and it only happens when a meteor attempts to spawn on an area that is void. I have fixed it in 1.2.
The bug will only happen when a player is actually near a void zone (as meteors will only spawn within 32 blocks of a player. A way to correct this would be to force daytime so no meteors spawn, then create sigils of lunar tides with an obsidian platform to force spawned meteors away from the void. They have a 128 block range in any direction, so you shouldn't need too many of them.
It's a good suggestion - I would like to continue to have beam spells consume mana to maintain the effect however, as it makes sense that it would require an effort of will to keep the beam happening.
With 1.2, all mana costs are being re-balanced, so I hope to bring each shape into the realm of usability. Beam will likely have roughly the same mana cost (perhaps slightly less ~5%), but will cause much less burnout than projectile spells, meaning overall it will cost less to maintain a beam than to spam a projectile.
Can you post a screenshot of the render issue? I'm having trouble picturing what you're describing.

ive got a weird problem i can play a skybloxk just fine(until i open my inventory) but whenever i try a normal world minecraft frezez up and stops reesponding after i added ars magica

tried swaping ars for theermal expansion instead of adding seemes i just hit the minecraft is to big limit
so i was watching one of tofskis videos on arsmagica 2 and you were saying how someone used computercraft to make a light nexus to be both night and da so i was thinking how could i make something like that with redstone in survival and i did and it works a all day everyday light nexus with redstone( if you are wondering what those red bricks are i am playing with magical crops ad thats something it adds in) so here it is i dont know how many other people have done this thouh so ya images hopfully in the next post as a spoiler if i can get it to work

For the life of me I can't get my conduits to work correctly with anything. I place a conduit anywhere within the 10 block radius they require of any essence/energy source and try to make it work, I will immediately get a skyrocket of deficit to the point that it burns out within about 2 seconds. The essence refiner is a nightmare due to this since it takes so much to make it work. It has come to the point that I am just spawning crap in when it requires me to transfer energy through the conduits.
Is anyone else getting massive deficit on their conduits despite having crystal pillars and focus placed in the conduits?
On top of that I turned off particles at one point in the nether and now I can't see any of the linking animations when using the crystal wrench on ANYTHING.
Edit: The particles for linking came back randomly. No clue why they went away but after a few restarts they just came back on their own.
suggestion: a magical answer to modular powersuits. it can be inconvenient or even dangerous to keep recasting buff spells. suggestion: imbued armor. an essence powered device that let's you place (some) known spell abilities with a self range on a new robe or mage armor. when activated the armor casts it on you and will fuel the spell till it is deactivated or runs out of power. can be recharged in a device with essence. may use essences to imbue the abilities or may use items like the crafting alter.
tools could be enhanced but with bound tools and spellbooks it might be a tad redundant.
if a full armor set is to much than maybe an amulet the casts a single power and is fueled by essence. just so you don't have to worry about falling to your death when you don't have time or mana to recast flight during your wizards duel
I can't help but feel that there was more planned for the Mana Battery, would you be against it if someone were to make a converter machine that converts Mana Battery power to technology power for other mods?

Possibly something wrong with your combination of foci. Try using 2 charge foci and 1 mana foci. This should allow neutral essence transfer of 6000 essence per second before building deficeit. Maybe you're linking too much essence machines to one line of conduits? If you are then try to split the power loads between more than one line. He was for compatibility with Millenaire if I recall when I asked for permission to make Ars Magica villages? I am currently waiting for 1.7 of both this mod and Millenaire before I do that though...
Those Squids want to be mages... or something is letting them to spawn in the liquid essence pools.

It's even better with hats and morph. Become a squid, get a wizard hat, and a spell, and then you can be a squizzard, too.
EDIT: Actually, being a squid using morph is very, very helpful for fighting the water guardian. No more drowning!
EDIT2: I think it's probably some bug with squids just spawning in liquids. Or, maybe it's a metadata of water, letting squids spawn. I mean, while playing with Minefactory Reloaded, I saw a bunch of squids dying of poison in a naturally spawned pool of poop, so...
EDIT3: I just remembered that squids spawn by biome, so they are just spawning in a liquid they found in a very small river biome or something.

I actually have tried checking config, and re-installing arsmagica2, but didn't work. I never tried to reset it so I did, buts still doesn't work. All it does is it just changes the items in quick slots.
Is there a way to manually set 2keys in option.txt file? Like assigning Spellchanging keys to [42(L-Shift) and -96(mouse wheel up)] so if you push [L-Shift and mousewheel up], then it changes the spell. If not, i will live without it like you suggested

Already been done in a way of sorts, mdiyo played with the api awhile back and made his own solution.
And I'm planning to do it too, I think my application of it will make sense though and hopefully doesn't differ from the flow.
Hello all. I've download Ars Magica 2 and it seems that everything is working fine but for some reason Im having the issue in which there are no mob sounds from the mod creatures and no spell icons when making spells. (It has a default dimond sword icon.) I've looked into the mod files and the texture, sound, and everything is in there. Anyone know what the issue is and how to fix it?
