This is weird... When I mine chimerite ore, I get this item with no texture call "Invalid Item (Destroy). Anyone get this too?
This is an item ID conflict, most likely between AM2 and Thermal Expansion. You will have to edit the config file for one mod or the other and change the item IDs. Somewhere in the past few pages of this thread there might just be more info...
Could you place a dummy item in the hotbar when you throw the magic weapons so that you don't get disarmed by zombie flesh jumping into your inventory at the wrong time?
awsome
well i should return you favoure there is entity that can be summoned called world wind it seems i think its part of secret spell um not sure it might be part of next silver skill but iv seen it in spawning system from mo creatures costum spawner and why do i think its most likly coz all things in costume spawner that are on default false in costume spawner are things that need special conditions to come to life
oh yea i was thinking when i was playing this lates version im not sure so i wont go to git hub before someone says that they have same problem but it seems beam spells when i aim in front of me there are fine but if i slightly move my mouse down animation aims at ground dmg seems to be dealt as normaly
I'm pretty sure whirlwinds are entities that the Air Guardian spawns. Many times on Arcanacraft have I seen people be slain by the unlocalised terrors whilst fighting that boss.
i see well do you maybe know how to use explosion component iv seen icon in folder is it posible to make such a spell at this stage of develoment coz iv seen icon and it looks awsome
Currently no, it seems that was mostly a leftover that was used to test out the API.
I'm having new problem with the mod now.if i open a new instance of the game and put only the AM2 mod it gives strange bug.
when i try to create a 'projectile'+'fire damage' spell everything goes right and i can choose an icon (instead of only seeing a diamond sword) however when i hold the spell instead of showing the fire affinity in my hand it gives blank one, and the projectile i shoot is blank and non-damaging.its wierd...
edit:
never mind, my error, i failed to follow the full instructions of the crafting altar...i feel stupid.
Hi, playing Ars Magica 2 in Direwolf 20's pack on FTB. I'm encountering a big problem when I light up my first neutral nexus. I instantly start getting extreme lag. My game just chugs like nobody's business. I've got 2gigs allocated just for Minecraft, and that's usually enough RAM for this kinda stuff. Rebooting the game doesn't help. Is it the graphics or what? My graphics card is new, and very powerful. I guess the graphics could be lagging the game itself but if that's the case, why am I the only one with this issue? X.X please help?
EDIT: I messed with all the graphics options I have, and nothing helped. Render distance, fancy/fast, particles, nothing helped.
The neutral nexus uses a similar searching algorithm to buildcraft's pumps - though I have heard that if it is built over water it can cause quite a bit of lag. Is this the case for you?
What about a Dark Nexus? a Light one? Can you try these in Creative mode and see if the lag persists? If not, then it's likely not graphics settings (as they basically do the same thing). Try these things out and please post the results.

It is indeed over water! It searches only 10 blocks down so if I break the nexus, go creative, and build down underneath, it shouldn't lag.
Okay, I am playing FTB Horizons and didn't feel like going through the 146 pages of AM2 information/questions to find this... For the biome Witchwood Forest, what are the characteristics? (ie, normal temperature, etc.)
It did. Runs perfectly now. I guess searching all that water for liquid essence was lagging it because it kept following the water in the ocean biome, trying to load more and more, reaching it's cap, unloading, trying again.

Hello. I had a bit of feedback about this mod.Firstly, I am really enjoying Ars Magica 2. I liked the idea of a mod that adds magic to the game, so I could be a wizard in minecraft. This mod is nicely balanced, I feel like a budding wizard rather than a god. There are some minor issues I have with the mod however. The spell light I believe is intended to be a starting spell. However I am level 35 and still don't have it, it's the only starting spell I still don't have. I am afraid that as soon as I find nether wart, that I will have no use for the light spell at all. I understand that worldgen is random and you don't have control over my world. Though could you consider making it more prevalent, or just have it removed from the recipe? I thought it didn't make much sense that a beginner wizard's spell would require you to spend hours scouring one of the most dangerous places in existence.
Coming from Equivalent Exchange 2, I wasn't too fond of the idea of drawing magic power from the sun. I tried to use other power sources, such as a essence nexus, or dark nexus. I'm not saying you should get rid of light nexus, I just prefer that my power sources have a cost. I prefer harvesting liquid essence or trapping monsters and draining their essence. Would an item nexus that eats stuff like gold, stone, etc be possible?
Burnout is a mechanic I really don't enjoy. I feel that if I have an amount of mana, that I should be able to use it freely as desired. If I understand correctly, burnout is intended to prevent you from spamming spells. In truth it didn't prevent me from doing so, because if I am spamming spells it's usually because I need to do so. Instead it just was a punishment for say, having to use levitate over and over while flying across the nether. I searched but there does not seem to be a way to tweak or disable burnout, that would be a nice option.
Aum is another item I am always trying to find. They only spawn from witchwood trees, usually there is only one or two there. Yet it's required for every self spell. I've tried to farm them to grow my own aum, but I really would rather not. It takes forever to gather all the leaves, and it usually only drops one sapling. You finally get that sapling to grow, and you get only one aum from it. T_T Please, please, make aum more prevalent.
Many times while trying to progress, I would hit informational roadblocks. The book was unable to provide some information, such as the recipe for an essence refiner. As well I couldn't locate the recipe for things like arcane ash, purified vinteum dust, etc. I eventually learned they were in a category called AM Ores, but I didn't check there previously since dust and ash isn't an ore block.Really love the mod, the effects and sounds and such are awesome. Thank you!

Also, I just died from eating a mana bean, and the game crashed. When I reloaded, my magic level was reset! How do I fix this? I've spent too long getting up to 30+ to have to restart. All my progress on my occulus has been deleted as well! How do I fix this?

There's a command to set your magic level, though I can't recall what it is. Sorry.

I found it, and set it back to what it was. Gave myself infinity orbs. I hate cheating, but i'm not giving myself anything I didn't have already.Still an annoying bug. All in the name of science. I have to find out what each of these mana beans do.

I think the order is blue green read, not certain though.
Haven't a clue why a mana bean would crash the game.

It's not terribly difficult to acquire but I suppose it is an odd choice for a starting component. If anything getting the sunstone for the spell is even more difficult.

It's been stated before that the old item consuming neutral nexus will most likely never make a come back.

Not everyone things along the same lines I suppose, it was either that or cool-downs, there is of course the option to request the ability to disable it.

Get a grow spell from utility and cast it on grass, you will have no issues finding aum then. If you stumble across a witchwood forest you will most likely end up with around 15 as well.

The book is a WIP, but if entries are needed its best to report them here: http://goo.gl/S5zERu
For all of those, nei will give you the recipe however.

I believe mana beans have random effects, not based on what type of bean you eat, unless I'm mistaken.
This may have been addressed before but i run a MCPC+ 1.6.4 direwolf20 mod-pack v1.0.12 server with ars magica... the /amuicfg is not working with my players even when i op them how do i fix this?
it's not the highest priority, but I do hope to add them in again eventually. The lore books at least.
Yeah, I just hit that bug myself on the public server today.

With the API you currently have the power to do so yourself.
The fire affinity is also commonly associated with lava as well, lava is only really super-heated earth after all.

You can use the in game /help to find it, along with more syntax that I can't look up right now.
