How stable are the beta versions of this?
I'm thinking of playing around with some mods but have been waiting for Thaumcraft to get out of beta, is this like a beta where it's glitchy and we're helping him iron out the bugs, or is it stable enough and he's just still adding stuff into it?
Also, if I do end up trying it out any suggestions for mods to go with it?
I already have a huge list! lol
Anytime new stuff is being added it brings a chance of new bugs being added too, but there are several "fix" updates between each bundle of new stuff from what I can see. Just make backups before updating, and know that some versions always turn out more stable than others so don't update to the newest beta right away every time.
EDIT: I'm not very far in the mod yet, but I'm finding it relatively stable so far. It shouldn't be a problem to add it to a survival world as long as you're careful about updates.

It is more of the latter, adding/balancing stuff.
Even some mechanics are still in flux(pun intended).
But overall, it is playable. And sometimes even enjoyable.

NP. Is there a hard cap on the one Eldritch Vis discount bauble's %discount, or is it only limited by how much Permanent Warp you can gain through normal ingame means?

So for the last few days I have been trying to unlock the method to grow vis crystals people have been mentioning and also how to close a rift seems no matter what I try I can't unlock the method to collapse a rift.
for the first notion, try scanning the naturally spawning crystals, that should help you out. With the rift i dont actaully remember, im not sure what you tried but they do collapse in on themselves eventually, just gotta give it some time and prepare to fight some taint spores.

Taint seeds are evil too. Got to kill them to kill the Taint, but get within like 10 blocks of one and you get Taint Poisoning 3, which is like Wither on steroids. They also flail around to attack you if you're in melee range. Best thing to do is stay out of their poison zone and shoot them with a bow or a projectile/bolt type focus.
(Oh, and you want to scan the rift and follow along with the research line that that gives you access to, it leads to an item that can collapse the rift. As an added bonus, you get Void Seeds and a chance for a P. Pearl(which now has durability and will wear out after being used to craft a few things) from each rift you collapse.)

Ok so I'm not sure how but I've seemingly ended up basing in a place that is completely incapable of building up any flux in the aura, I've tested by setting up a thaumium smelter and just had it process a ton of vitium essentia phials and while its visually spouting tons of flux clouds, when I check the aura with my thaumometer, there is 0 flux whatsoever, I checked to make sure there weren't any flux rifts in the area that could be eating flux using a flux sponge and there were none, and still no flux, I even took a cauldron and threw a stack of beacons in it and dumped it into the aura and still 0 flux, I've got no idea whats causing this, any ideas?
I wanted the carpet in soo badly, but I just couldn't get it to work like I wanted on servers. The harness was my quick and dirty replacement for it, but at some point I will take another crack at the carpet. Two methods of fligth would be redundant though.

Seriously though, i have been thinking if it would be a cool thing to implement real choices along the Thaumonomicon adventures, limiting the possibilities while stimulating criativity and giving a more RPG style, some examples being:
Magic Carpet OR Thaumostatic Harness, mentioned above
Duplicating (metal) nuggets OR Making the native ore clusters
Cloudstepper ring OR Thaumostatic Girdle (Harness needed)
Runic Shielding OR Thaumium/Void Fortress armor (a little bit controversial, but an option)
Choosing ignorance and using the Obelisks to get the old ancient Vault with good loot OR Choosing to perfrom the ritual to get to the Eldritch Dimension

Not necessarily, imo. The harness is a good tool for building, since it's maneuvreable and allows you to hover easily. The carpet, on the other hand, could be a tool for quickly travelling large distances. Fast, but needs time to accelerate, can't move sideways and only slowly backwards. Maybe even make it slowly descend if the player isn't actively accelerating.
Basically, carpet = boat, but flying.
Nothing yet, but I might add it in again since is coming soon.
Mh. Will Redacted also include a way to actually do high-instability infusions without hoppers at each pedestal? IMO, the infusion balance (or rather, lack thereof) is currently the biggest problem gameplay-wise :/
Is a line of sight check going to be added to the essentia transfusers? because its always really weird when it starts pulling essentia through a wall instead of using the essentia mirror I have placed
I don't mind. I like to have my jars below or above the infusion altar. At first, I made holes specifically to allow essentia to flow through, until I noticed that it isn't necessary.
What is the Biome ID of Magical Forest? I can't seem to find it...

Essentia, being immaterial, disregards such clumsy concepts as "Line of Sight".
But its not immaterial, it is a physical substance

It will be fun to see the continuation of the "plot", i'm still curious about the outer lands and such.
