Hey guys, on Thaumcraft 5.1.1 here.
So I know TC4 had Infusion Enchanting - basically it allowed you to get the enchants you wanted, rather than random from the game's vanilla enchant table.
So I thought, that's a badass feature. Said it had something to do with scanning brains, angry zombies, brains in jars..but I've done all that, and I never have unlocked "Infusion Enchanting" yet - unless it's already unlocked and all the enchant recipes are just hidden.
Can anyone tell me how exactly to get Infusion Enchanting? Artifice tab says 100%..

Azanor removed it because vanilla enchanting was buffed.

I guess you just came here to hear the answer you didn't want to hear. That 100% means there's nothing left in the artifice tab to discover, meaning there's no more infusion enchanting... and it really freaking sucks not having it anymore.

I started my 1.8.9 world, did my TC researches, saved my XP and realized I was avoiding doing vanilla enchanting because I was expecting to unlock infusion enchanting once I had my Matrix up. Silly me.
Well, at least I had the elective research to spend it on so I had that going for me.
The wiki page of Thaumcraft 5 aspects now shows common sources for each aspect - much faster than than checking the scrolling list in the thaumonomicon. If there are any common/cheap items missing, feel free to edit the wiki yourself, or tell me and I can add them.
It's practical for Thaumcraft experts, but who expect certain research to be there in the new version, but I don't actually like the progress indicators for research... they remove a lot of the mystery.
Can the primal focus still create aura nodes? And does any enchantment that increases the odds?
Iv found that Iv built my base in a pretty barren (node wise) land and instead of spending a minecraft week dragging several nodes home I want to spam the primal for some new nodes.

You'd be better off just growing silverwood trees and getting pure nodes all over the place. Not only will this help with your vis problem, but it'll help with flux too.

So, 16 Balance Shards went into my Infernal Furnace, and 11 Salis Mundus came out. Is this an expected efficiency or does 5.1.3 have a ... item loss bug on the Infernal furnace?

This has to be an Infernal Furnace setup issue or bug because 16 shards = 16 salis in a regular furnace.
Problem with pure nodes is they dont last. just a few days and they are gone. I need some lasting aura nodes.

I have them vanishing even from within perfect healthy untouched silverwood tree.
1 tree that I planted way before still has his pure node but another that I planted lost it. Do pure nodes just vanish on random tick or is this a bug in 5.1.3?
Not converted to normal node, its just gone (the node,the silverwood tree still stands)
can you chop a silverwood tree in a way so you can place a stabilzer beneath the pure node or will the node be gone if you cut the block beneath it?
can you drag the node out with the node manipulator and then stabilize it?
Is there a way to farm Aurum Essentia? Wisp hunting isn't really an effective way of gathering quantities of this and I haven't found any information on Magic Shrooms being farmable...
It's there a way to setup a Taint Biome that golems can somehow farm?

Tainted goo gives both Auram and Vitium. And I think it's possible to farm it with just Bore if you place tree trunks in a way that Goo will grow on them in Bore's beam reach.
Anyone happen to know what an astral node does?
tainted shards can be made by
overflowing a crucible and thus ceating a high vitium level which turns locel crystals into tainted crystal
or
alchemy recipe --> any shard with 4 vitium / 4 perditio to get 1 tainted shard
Scan it, then look in your book.

Infinity is a vanilla enchantment. Vanilla enchants are not listed in the Thaumanomicon.

You'd be better off just growing silverwood trees and getting pure nodes all over the place. Not only will this help with your vis problem, but it'll help with flux too.
