You want a farm, you grab a hoe. You want a boat, you grab some wood. You want a fireplace, you grab A FLAMING HELL-BOULDER BECAUSE THAT'S HOW MINECRAFTERS ROLL!!!
Has anyone seen a Barrow Hill dungeon lately? I haven't found one for months now. Did they get removed and I just missed it?
Also hell yes. Bring on the corruption >:3
They do seem pretty scarce in my world, but I found a few when I started aggressively checking out Eerie zones I saw on Journeymap.
The one nearest my base had a spider greatwood on top of it... its spawner showed up inside the barrow, embedded in the floor at entry level. Unfortunately, when I decided to farm it, the cave-spider spawner was too close to the skelly spawner to make it a triple farm, so I wound up breaking the spider one. (And I'd previously torched the greatwood itself, in the course of investigating WTH was going on up top.)
ETA: I broke the node too, for similar reasons -- if I want to farm Furious zombies, I have totems closer to home.
I did some CraftTweaker scripts for Mystical Agriculture. They fill in a couple of small gaps in MA, and also let you make or duplicate not only vanilla plants, but the blocks, plants and wood from Quark and Biomes O'Plenty. Also spawn eggs for most vanilla mobs! The scripts are here on Github.
So, after reading a bit about taint, I now have a desire to try living in the middle of a taint biome.
Is it worth a try, or should I quit while I'm ahead?
For me, the biggest obstacle to living in a tainted lands biome was the omni present Fibrous Taint, and Crusted Taint and Tainted Dirt blocks. These blocks will give negative effects if you stand near them, kill mobs, converting them into tainted variants, spread more fibrous taint, and convert any dirt or wood block that has 3 sides exposed to taint, to Crusted Taint or Tainted Dirt.
Removing these three blocks is the key to manually removing the harmful effects of taint from a tainted lands biome. Unfortunately, there are no tools that are good at destroying either fibrous taint, or the crusted taint or tainted dirt blocks. The fibrous taint is "easy" to clean off the surface, but as it can infect dirt blocks (via conversion to Tainted Dirt blocks) after a small while in the presence of a tainted biome you quickly get an infection that is all but impossible to dislodge.
You can easily wall the fibrous taint back - it can't cross water or any non solid block such as a torch, fence, or (amusingly) tilled land. But Tainted Dirt can colonize all dirt that is at the same level as the deepest point of infection, allowing it to potentially undermine your defences.
I don't think you are really supposed to know. Are they just insane or are they onto something too complex for us to understand? Too be honest are we even shore they are people? Where do they come from, how to people join the crimson cult? Also what is up with their eyes ? basically they are meant to be mysterious that's why they look like their faces were redacted.

Forbidden Magic adds the Shovel of the Purifier which "cuts through tainted blocks like a hot knife through really gross butter".

well in the past, a lot of beta testers were also developers for thaumcraft addon mods for one. they get the mod early, since they need it to update their addons.
i hope a lot of addon mods will make the transition.
otherwise, there is forgecraft and probably some people az choses personally.
Hello. I want to start another game of thaumcraft with a friend. I'm looking forward to since June. My question is, thaumcraft 4.2.3.5 worlds are upgradeable thaumcraft 5? I would not want to start a game soon have to leave because the world is not updatable. Thank you!
PS: Sorry for my English, I'm using google traslate.

It will not be upgradeable as the two will be incredibly different in how the Aura systems work, as well as many blocks being removed or replaced. Best bet is to have MultiMC or separate profiles on the main Minecraft Launcher so you can play 1.7.10 and 1.8. I have been doing that for ages.
EDIT: NINJA'D for the most part due to using a phone to type.
No, TC 4 worlds will not be upgradeable to TC 5.
Besides, in 1.7.10 there is basically nothing you are missing but the cheaper enchanting in 1.8 and the bunnies.
TC 5 is gonna change some very fundamental things, so you'd want to start a new game anyway.

A word of warning - the TC5 incarnation of taint harkens back to the TC2 version.
I'm totally cool with hardcore taint; my problem with the TC2 iteration was the fact that it spread fast AND could naturally generate, effectively screwing my world before I was even producing taint of my own, and far before I had the resources to rectify the situation. I know taint is no longer a specific biome, but will it still naturally generate, or will it be up to the thaumaturge to turn his world into a polluted wasteland?
Is there any ways to become a beta-tester?
Yes, contribute to his Patreon.

Aren't that because they are senseless maniacs?
