For stabilizers, yes. But if you put anything in between the four curved pillars of the matrix, it won't activate. Some of us here have found that out with carpet or stailizers.
sorry to bug you, but do you know if the crimson cult mobs can be put in MFR safari nets?
What is the use of the Crimson Rites book that we get from Crimson clerics? I opened up the portal and went in there, but I still got some of those books left around. Cant open it or read or anything.
By the way I was just wondering whether has anyone yet completed the whole maze? If so can you give a hint as to what happens in a spoiler maybe. Sadly it doesn't seem like I can't complete the maze because some eldritch obelisks that formed before the update causes you to spawn in a void world and when enter you fall and die.

That doesn't sound right. I put jars (and occasionally crystal clusters) between the four infusion pillars all the time, and it's never caused me difficulty. I keep seeing people comment to this effect and frankly I think they're wrong. Maybe it's a miscommunication?
This is a screenshot of my infusion setup (that has never failed to activate and with which I am well pleased). When I talk about the spaces between the four infusion pillars, I mean putting stuff on the spaces marked by the quartz slabs. Example: The jars I have already placed. After I took this screenshot I successfully infused my fortress armor chestplate with Thorns III, without even touching any of the jars.
Hmm. Maybe that's just creating the arcane construct. I thought it blocked the actual infusion too, but I guess not.

You want a farm, you grab a hoe. You want a boat, you grab some wood. You want a fireplace, you grab A FLAMING HELL-BOULDER BECAUSE THAT'S HOW MINECRAFTERS ROLL!!!
is there a way to dim an aura node? ive got a energized node with 282 of all primal aspects and its aura is the size os a bout .... click the spoiler
and its gonna get anoying with that glow every where S:
even if it means using a editor or something its just a world that me my bro and my dad play on so not that worry about cheating to fix things like this
Ehm, Its energized and it has 282 aspects in it? That would mean its base before energizing was around 80,000 in every aspects.
So not to sound angry or anything, Suit yourself if you cheat a node that big.
A node with 100 in everything before energized will give you 10 in every aspects, thats pretty fast and will generate a very tiny glow.

The only use of the books would be that it enables you to open the portal, beyond that there no use for them

He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you.
I can't help but feel like going back to a hybrid of TC2/3 with regards to aura feels like a step back. Black and white vis/taint seems so... wasteful nowadays. It was really rad when it came out, but we've reached better things since then.
Please consider this option:
The aura can hold all six primals, like aura nodes do now. Aura nodes also generate an Auric Field of about 3x3 chunks around it. Energizing a node will increase it to 5x5. Within this field, you can slowly recharge the wand from absorbing from the primal values in the aura, but you can also draw directly from the aura node, which has the effect of changing how quickly the aura itself regenerates, a sort of long term cost to a short term result.
Rare nodes will occasionally have a 5x5 aura area, and energizing them will increase it to 7x7, but they have a slow recharge rate. Merge them with other nodes to carry over the enhanced aura zone, but with greater aura recharge. Instead of just having a beam, you could extend the aura zone on a chunk-by-chunk basis with craftable gizmos.
Please don't drop the primal aspect. I really love that. You could even bring back the TC3 battery blocks with crystals that slowly charge up with excess energy from the aura over time and provide an extra buffer, but in all six primal flavours.
Moving nodes:
One problem I had with the TC3 node-moving system was, sure, how slow it was, but also how limited in range it was. You would have to rebuild it constantly. If you return to TC3 node-moving mechanics, I would suggest that the system TC3 used to use would be the early option, and that the advanced option would be to build a massive altar, with stabilizers positioned around it. In the middle of the altar you'd have your primary node powering the whole operation directly via its own primal vis. Above the stabilizer you want to move a new node to, you'd place an Aura Mirror (a modification of item/essentia mirrors) and at least one block of air between them.
From then, you could build pillars around the node you want to move, a node stabilizer and an Aura Mirror, and just connect the two points with the wand, resulting in slowly warping the node through the sub-dimension over great distances. Essentially, like a piece of theorycrafting as to the mechanics of bottling a node that I wrote up before, instead of moving the node yourself, you'd be rewriting reality to swap two pieces of space through the mechanics of a sub-dimension, rather than changing where the exit coordinates of the node lead in space, like dragging them would.
Aura Fields & Networks:
Starting with the Aura Field, every node would have one. Basic 3x3, you could use a series of nodes two chunks apart to make a large field, but it would be rather time consuming and expensive to do so. Still, a series of interconnected fields would result in a network, sharing the aura. If two fields overlap, then the overlapping zone would benefit from a higher aura cap and vis flowing in from two or more sources.
The exception to Aura Fields is Hungry Nodes, which generate no field of their own. They would act as a constant, weak drain for all primals in any aura field they are connected to or overlapping with. There would, however, be an unexpected benefit to them - half of the primals from items consumed by Hungry Nodes would be turned directly into a quick boost of primal vis for the field, but the other half would be turned into flux for the related primals.
Auric Extenders are blocks that extend the AuF/N by a 1x2 chunk zone. They'd start at the empty chunk next to the aura field, draw the aura into that, and an Eye of Ender built into it would stare the field into the next chunk over that it's facing. They have no effect at all within a given field.
However, on the flip side, you could potentially create Aura Nullifier blocks at some point, that kill the aura in a given chunk and create a gap or, rather, a wall in the network, separating different Aura Fields.
How Flux works:
There could be flux for each of the Primal types, with effects to match. Ignis flux might cause random mobs (including yourself) to catch fire or very occasionally set actual blocks on fire, or you might get something like "Ignis Flux magnifies the sun's intensity..." that causes you to lose hunger faster under the direct sunlight. Terra flux might make rocks harder for a few moments, by giving you quick mining fatigue.
Maybe having flux in more than one aspect could result in combined flux, such as Terra and Aqua flux occasionally converting cobblestone to mossy cobblestone.
Energized/Supercharged nodes:
Do you remember the crystal core you used in TC3 to drag things? Well, a thought of mine was that, rather than use it to move the nodes (which could be done with stabilizers instead, I think), you could make it out of a Primordial Pearl and throw that in your biggest, most primary node. This would transform it from a node you could draw from to a node entirely dedicated to the aura, extending the Aura Field by +1 again like energized nodes and rare nodes, but also making it so that you couldn't directly draw vis from it, but instead it would generate way more primal aspects for the aura than it used to. These nodes would grow in size considerably, and the outlines of the crystals rotating around it would be visible through blocks while wearing the Goggles of Revealing.
There would however be limitations. You could only have exactly one of these across all interconnected Aura Fields in a given Network. Having more than one would result in a catastrophic overload of the Aura Network in its entirety. There would be three stages to the breakdown of a given network.
Stage 1 -> Overcharged. This is where all vis in all fields reach their maximum, and then begin to generate entirely unreasonable amounts of flux. Once all chunks across the network reach maximum vis and flux, Stage 2 begins. Stage 2 -> Overloading. This is where things begin to go horribly wrong. All primal vis in the entire network would quickly drain who knows where, and flux effects are doubled in frequency and intensity. Stage 3 -> Meltdown. Once all the vis drains completely, all aura nodes on the network would explode, and the entire zone of interconnected chunks would be instantly and thoroughly tainted.
This is an extremely long process however, so there would be many opportunities to stop it, although why would anyone not want to start at the earliest possible opportunity?
To stop the breakdown, you'd have to break one or more nodes. Preferably the second supercharged node to minimize losses, but failing that you could separate their Aura Fields by making a gap in the network, either by smashing interconnecting nodes or Auric Extenders. In Stage 1, everything would eventually drop down to their normal levels. In Stage 2, however, this wouldn't suffice. The aura network's connection would be maintained regardless, and you could only stop it via smashing one of the two Supercharged Nodes. This would create a magical... shockwave of sorts that would essentially short out the network. All of the nodes would be reduced to half their vis output level and the vis levels across all chunks would be dropped to a quarter of their maximum. Thankfully, all of the flux would also be instantly canceled out.
I can't help but feel like going back to a hybrid of TC2/3 with regards to aura feels like a step back. Black and white vis/taint seems so... wasteful nowadays. It was really rad when it came out, but we've reached better things since then.
I wouldn't put it like a concept of black and white. It's more like usable energy and pollution from using the energy. The pollution aspect of TC2 and 3 was great (although TC3 needed more variety of Bad Stuff tm) and this is something that felt to be lacking in TC4.
Your aura concept is pretty neat too though. I also find it rather amusing how aura and -ic ended up becoming my name.

Due to my snarky and sarcastic personality I can easily be seen as a jerk. If I've offended you in any way it was likely unintended.
You might want to go take a look through Azanor's recent posts. He's been thinking up a new research system for Thaumcraft 5 that would involve each research notes having a set number of points upon creation, rather than having to get research points by scanning things in the world. Running out of points would essentially make it so that you've failed that piece of research and have to make new notes to re-do it from scratch.
I must be perfectly honest, I don't like it!
There's couple reasons behind it that I would like to point out ->
1. Pretty much everyone gets stuck to the point where you need to create "spirit", "human" and "mind" and on that point you pretty much NEED to refer to wiki how to make them and that's really what you should do.
2. Before the new research system it was just game of time when getting stuff done by researching stuff with the thaumometer and I and everyone that I asked about it liked more than this, so I would be happy if we could get something to fill out the spirit, humanus, mind gap (or gaps if theres more of them) or if we could get the old research system back that pretty much everyone liked more.
If you agree what I said please upvote this to make everyone see this and if you disagree, quote on this post so we could make discussion about this.
Well someone is a little tardy to the party. I never had any issue with these specific aspects. Never once have I needed to use a wiki. It's really simple really, just scan items that contain the base aspects for spiritus, cognitio and humanus then scan an item containing those aspects.
Also, upvotes (or thanks as these forums call it) dose not effect post visibility. This is a traditional forum format.

ok will a mit we did use a nbt editor just to turn it fomr a hungery node in to a normal node we have been feeding it from befor energized nodes was a thing and was gonna use it to recharge it after feeding it a crap tun of tables + nether rack then last night desided to turn it in to a energized node after getting the pearl thats when we used the nbt thing to turn it in to a normal node and energized it
is there anyway to deenergized a node with out it exsploding with a crap tun of flux? im a frade to replace that 1 in case it cases massive dammage
Just cut the power to the transducer. That turns it back to a normal node.
And you know, if the node was that size before you energized it, you really should have seen this problem coming.

If I remember correctly, Azanor said many of his mobs were intentionally blacklisted so safari nets don't work on them.
