So, I've learned a few interesting things when I was messing around with the warding focus.
1. You can make piston tables without the piston part. The piston block itself is dropped when warding the top of it.
2. Redstone lamps that are on when being warded remain on without a redstone signal. And yes, it dose still give off light.
3. Floating ladders. The back of them lack a texture so they can also make invisible walls.
4. Ignore block placement rules. First, place a block normally, ward it then you can change the block it depends on without it breaking.
5. (not shown) You can ward water and lava source blocks, however the texture disappears on the top of the block. Warded lava blocks still emit the particle effect and make the bubbling sound.
6. (not shown or tested but most likely possible) Vines that won't keep growing and can still be used.
Also note that these are likely considered bugs and might not be possible in the future.
So trying to create Volatus creates Tempestas instead, whether by combining or shift-clicking. Personally, I think Motus should be switched back the way it was (Aer + Ordo) since so many other aspects require Aqua already (directly or through Victus). The old aspect combinations made more sense to me, honestly: Air and Order is Motion. Air and Water is Weather. Air and Motion is Flight. How does Aer+Aqua=Motus? Also, please add some actual use for Tempestas, as well as sources besides Natura Clouds. Maybe magical lightning rod? Upgraded Shock Focus (call down lightning strike on target block instead of lightning stream? I remember it doing this at least once already but might have been a glitch)

I am currently considering limiting warding to "solid" blocks only. There are just too many special cases I need to contain with for things like ladders, etc.

Along with the 1.7 update I am doing quite a bit of fiddling with the aspect combos. I'm flattening the aspect chains a bit and creating a lot more primal+primal combos. I have changed Motus back to Aer+Ordo along with several other changes.

Awwww... that's slightly disappointing. It had the ability to do some really neat things. That's understandable though. I had a feeling the warding focus might become limited to only solid blocks at some point due to some bugs with warding nonsolid blocks. I was really looking forward to the warded vines though. They're a neat decoration but constantly trimming them is a bit annoying. Oh well, I can just go back to using carpender's blocks for that.
Also, how do I update Thaumcraft without losing all my research progress?
I updated just fine and kept my research. I still reset my research after the update though as I wanted to try out the new system. Make a backup of any important worlds though. Better safe then sorry. (I highly recommend making backups before making any changes to the modlist anyway)
Harvest and Chop golems have 4 range unupgraded. So yeah, pretty much intended.
I have found that planting the saplings beforehand and then using the bell on the saplings while setting the golem to use on empty space works way better. Also, i prefer to set the bell on the top of a sapling, since setting it on the side causes the use golem to sometime "miss" the right spot and plant on the block right after the selected spot.
Try it, it should work.
It dosent work, he just waves his arms like before
So for the "/tc research" command, what do I put for the "research" value?
For example: to get Nitor Research, I tried...
/tc research zsaskah nitor
/tc research zsaskah (random numbers)
/tc research zsaskah research
None of these worked. How is it supposed to work? I was trying to get back the research I lost in the version upgrade

Don't take me wrong, I love that Thaumcraft is getting that much attention and in turn many, many, many content expansion mods. But why is everybody and their grandma jumping the Thaumcraft train and doing addons for TC?
I wish there would be somebody to do a integration between Thaumcraft and Ars Magica 2 (and Blood Magic).
Having mucked about with Ars Magica, I have to say it has an extremely different feel to thaumcraft, other than it being about magic. Not to mention the almighty overlap twixt the two.
The sort of mods that work well for integration are those that are thematically similar but don't tread on each others toes when it comes to content.

I have a request for a small change that would make a big difference to me personally, but probably wouldnt mean much to anyone else.
Could you change the focus of Warding to Ward blocks on right click, and Un-Ward on left click?
This change would let me hold down right click instead of having to click each time for each block when doing a large area.
As it stands if you just hold right click it will both ward and unward blocks, so you need to instead individually click each block.
This is a big deal for me because I have nerve damage in my right wrist, so every single click is bothersome, and after a while I have to take a break from the pain. The less clicks I have to do the better.
I dont see how this change would hurt for anyone else, so I hope you will consider it.
Random Question: Does runic armor, beings it does not show as anything on the player, not count as armor when it comes to mobs seeing you while invisible?
Hello Azanor, I do not know if is something that should be fixed here or in bibliocraft, but if you don't mind me questioning...
Is there a way to fix the rendering on the thaumometer when placed in the Tool Hack ?

Since i just tried and it works... have you placed the golem against a chest? there are sapling in the chest? have you filtered the golem to use saplings? has the golem access to the chest? His path is clear? Are those vanilla saplings or modded ones (i had some graphical glitches with forestry's ones, for example)?
Can you post a screenshot?
Here is a video (created by me):
I have placed the golem on a chest, he have saplings, his path is totaly clear, i have filtered the golem to use splings and it is vanilla saplings

If you type "/tc research list" you will get list of things you can learn Just keep in mind that its a lot easier to read it from console than from chat.
Alright then, now that the essentia tubes have been changed, I automatized my distillation with an advanced thaumium golem. It seems to be enough to handle all aspects.
So I was thinking of a way to automatize essentia feeding to the alchemical construct. I figured, since a golem with alchemy core can carry essentia from the alembics to jars, maybe it could carry them from jars to the construct, but unfortunately it doesn't work.

That needs to be changed on the bibliocraft side
