Auric... this is for you. Mind, it's connected to a ... i dunno how many ticks clock (single line of 5 repeaters at full delay...)
Edit: And since i'm a derp, i forgot the link. http://imgur.com/a/x1PAV
Edit 2: I'm a derp and Auric is with a c not a k -.-"
Nice, You actually managed to get my idea to work! Unfortunately the design is too bulky, and too expensive for every essentia type in survival. I might use this for some of the more useful essnetia though.
I once made a flip-flop gate so I could use a button like a lever for my piston door. Then connected it to an OR gate so I could have buttons work on either side. Redstone is fun once you get the hang of it!
Yeah it is. I often make secret passages and traps knowing very well that they're never going to be used.
I remember once I built an extremely cruel obsidian trap before. I had a wooden door connected to a bud switch so once the door opened they'd fall down into a small pit. While falling I used tripwire to activate 3 dispensers, one with lava, one with water above it and yet another with lava. The last lava dispenser just added more cruelty to the trap as if they happened to have a diamond pick, the whole thing was covered with lava, mostly source blocks.
I was almost banned for harassment with that trap as it was on a smp server. In my defense the guy entered my home without my permission.

Due to my snarky and sarcastic personality I can easily be seen as a jerk. If I've offended you in any way it was likely unintended.
I don't suppose anyone has a list or knows exactly what aspect combos changed for the latest version? It says "for balance", I'd just like to know what they were before I jump into the new patch, as I've got some automation running that might get gummed up if certain things change.
I believe theres some sort of conflict with the Highlands mod (my favorite biome adding mod). It occurs in two certain biomes, mountains and mountainous deserts which share one thing in common, they go way higher than default minecraft allows. Im almost positive its because of the hilltop wisp spawner treasure thingies.
Is there something HUGE I'm missing, or is the piping just broken now? I've lost all motivation to continue with this version now because of this :/
Actually, it sounds like you are missing something huge. The update added a block called an essentia buffer, which is now an essential (ha ha) component of all but the very simplest pipeworks.

You want a farm, you grab a hoe. You want a boat, you grab some wood. You want a fireplace, you grab A FLAMING HELL-BOULDER BECAUSE THAT'S HOW MINECRAFTERS ROLL!!!
But some people will always want more, and I'm one of them!
We have runic boots of the traveller and runic goggles of revealing (yesss!) - how about completing the trilogy and giving us a runic thaumostatic harness?
So, you're playing a modpack without researching the mods in it, and potential dangers. You die, and instantly come to complain about how the mod had a dangerous feature that you didn't research?

You don't use pipes for big systems anymore(For performance and balance purposes). If you want to automate the filling of dozens of jars, use a golem. Mass producing a few(Like lux or perdeto for a bore) you use pipes. It you stay simple, pipes work great. Advanced pipe work is like redstone: Few will use it, but the ones who do will find great power.
Edit: As for logic, which is better: Highly dangerous liquids flowing orderly through a pipe without any problems, or highly dangerous liquids flowing through a pipe that triggers safeguards before something goes horribly wrong when essentia mixes? I personally prefer the latter.
I only used a small system for testing. Not only did it have several glitches despite trying to do things "correctly" with valves and filters and the such, but things that should have worked didn't. I don't see how it's possible to automate even a small system "efficiently" if nearly everything has multiple aspects in it, and filtered pipes don't actually filter anything.
Logic: A filtered pipe that only is suppose to let ONE aspect through but still tries to let everything through gumming up the system and being worse then a valve when there are other ways for aspects to flow. Having a one way pipe when essentia can only have one path open at a time to work anyway.
Edit: On further testing I have managed to get a slightly working system with the buffers (which I didn't know about before) But is still a mild annoyance as it requires labels, meaning I have to go through the obnoxious valve system at least once with all the aspects. :/ Oh well, it's at least bearable now.
I'm going to throw a crazy idea around here for a minute; hope y'all don't mind.
So, we know that we can distill compound essentia... why could we not combine essentia as well? Although this might break the balance of the mechanic...
But it could be compensated for by, say, requiring time for the mixing procedure? Or if the output essentia was only half of the input.
I know that essentia is a "dangerous fluid" and whatnot, but if it can be safely centrifuged, why could it not be as safely compounded?
An essentia distillation and combination facility would go great with a node reactor. Technomaturgy! Just sayin'.
In unrelated news: since the wisp spawners were fixed for hilltop shrines, does that mean they will spawn wisps again even if I move the spawner?
i am having a problem
every time i am trying to fight a wither i am warding a room but then when the with start to attack the room i judt not ressistin which means that the warding foci doesent work

I believe Azanor already said something like that would be too overpowered. I would have to agree with that as it would make some of the more rare essentia such as auram or vitium too easy to obtain.

See, I agree with this. Have the combining machine be at the end of a research for the alchemy tab so it is hard to get it. Then have it be an un-even convertion rate. I.E. 10 Aer and 10 Ignus for 1 lux. Finally, as a cost of the combination (since it is extanging two aspects for one), have it require 10 Permutatio.
Having it require Permutatio to function increases the cost of the machine due to the rarity of it.

A couple highlights from Dwarf Fortress games:
Dwarven Childcare: You put a dwarf baby in a room, exploit a glitch to stack up 12 years' worth of food in one space...then shove a dog (which goes crazy in confined spaces) in there and shut the door. You end up with an adult dwarf who's already battle-hardened and whose attitude is "Just Doesn't Care Anymore".
The Tree: DF has deliberately unlikeable elves who say that chopping trees down for wood is blasphemy, but really just want you to buy all your wood from them. One player built a gigantic tree made of charcoal (even worse than lumber in the elves' book), then added "fruit" in the form of dozens of elves in cages.
Goblin Christmas: You have an entry to your fortress that you never use, with a long hallway leading up to it chock-full of deathtraps. When a goblin horde (or other invader) comes, you shut your main entrance and open the trapped one. The goblins are forced by their programming to go for the open door, so they get cut to pieces by the traps. Just as the survivors are about to get in, slam the door and open a second one with its own identical trapped hallway. Once the noise stops, send out engineers to grab the loot.

i am having a problem
every time i am trying to fight a wither i am warding a room but then when the with start to attack the room i judt not ressistin which means that the warding foci doesent work
info:
i am playing on a server
i am warding the room
i have tryied warding diffrent blocks
plese help
also on single player it workes
That is a thing with the whither itself, as it is capable of blowing up nearly (if not entirely) everything, with bedrock being a possible exception (but I don't know if that can even take it) so warding isn't exactly going to work.
Nice, You actually managed to get my idea to work! Unfortunately the design is too bulky, and too expensive for every essentia type in survival. I might use this for some of the more useful essnetia though.
Actually, it sounds like you are missing something huge. The update added a block called an essentia buffer, which is now an essential (ha ha) component of all but the very simplest pipeworks.
You're as scary as a Dwarf Fortress player. I say that with great respect.
Thank you for this awesome mod.
But some people will always want more, and I'm one of them!
We have runic boots of the traveller and runic goggles of revealing (yesss!) - how about completing the trilogy and giving us a runic thaumostatic harness?
Pleeeease?
So, you're playing a modpack without researching the mods in it, and potential dangers. You die, and instantly come to complain about how the mod had a dangerous feature that you didn't research?

I've never played Dwarf Fortress before. I know it was one of the inspirations for Minecraft but that's about it. I've never gotten around to checking it out.
Ha, that dose sound fun.
That is a thing with the whither itself, as it is capable of blowing up nearly (if not entirely) everything, with bedrock being a possible exception (but I don't know if that can even take it) so warding isn't exactly going to work.
then why my isnt!?!
