i am having a problem finding nodes of any kind how rare are they supposed to be
You can also change the rarity of the nodes in the config. I find it is much easier to find nodes at night in a boat. No mobs trying to kill me and they glow slightly even without the lens. Just a 1/2 an hour on the water in an ocean biome can get you tons on nodes. They are also much easier to see in desert biomes, but it's much more dangerous at night.
Is there any word on compatibility with REI minimap? I have tried looking through this forum but I have only found the crash and what solutions I have seen haven't worked. (by the way I am trying to add REI minimap to a current world, so starting a new world is not ideal) I have tried disabling taint and anything that looks taint related but I keep on crashing. Any help is appreciated

Thanks
have you tried using the voxel minimap instead of reis and see if that works any better for you
So I got a fresh install of minecraft, ran the installer for Forge, and dropped the zip in the mod folder.
And minecraft won't run.
it does run if I remove thaumcraft from the mod folder, but that still means I can't play this mod. Any help would be appreseated. I have no other mods loaded.

Anyone know the aspects needed to research the paving stone of travel? I am kinda stuck on that one.
I have found the following aspects allready
volatus (flight), terra (Earth) and iter (travel)
I have allready generated the notes twice and always need 4 aspects, since there are only 2 runes per aspect.
Those are the only research aspects for Paving Stones of Travel. If you need more than six runes, you might be doing the research wrong. Post an image, and we can probably help

I have found the following aspects allready
volatus (flight), terra (Earth) and iter (travel)
I have allready generated the notes twice and always need 4 aspects, since there are only 2 runes per aspect.
I'd suggest having a look at Haighyorkies videos, he's doing in depth research videos, not checked if hes got the one you want yet but you can see here.
But from what i can remember it only has those three aspects to it
Ah, I see your problem. You can solve it by removing the research page from the research table and trying again. According to Azanor, occasional impossible researches are intentional behavior. Sorry!
Nodes in jar's that are actually usable for anything other than decoration would be OP. Moving them is already bad enough
Nodes used to be indestructable, but several issues popped up with that during testing. They could get in the way of peoples builds (CPW's massive train system on FC2 was one - halfway through he got stuck because a node was in the way of the build and it had to be removed with creative).
It also gives you the option of getting rid of hostile nodes if you have no other choice. I also like the idea of them being fragile magical constructs. Even swinging a pick through them a few times will be enough to disrupt the magic that holds it together.
What if depending on what aspects the node has, the effect it does when destroyed? if it has fire, it explodes with a ball of fire burning you and pushing you away, if it has water it explodes in hundreds of ice shards (like the ice foci) in all directions, etc

If it's air then pushes you away? earth no idea but order maybe lowers the strength of the punch and perdito makes it stronger or cause more damage to you
Hey azanor, simple question, newish modder here. Added my own dimensions, do your structures(burrows), generate in the worldproviders of forge or do i need to add something from your api to cause them to generate in my dimensions? (I use vannila chunk providers for the generation)
Kind of a strange design choice but whatever. I however solved the problem. The reason i wanted to solve it so bad was because it was kinda blocking my path to arcane levitator for the flying aspect, but i got the levitator research directly after it, without having to research the paving stone so no problem. It does seem strange however that a thing that makes you fly is much much easier to research than something that makes you run slightly faster.
I mean the levitator is 2 nodes, very close together and each aspect brings 2 runes. It has 3 possible aspects (maybe more). The paving stone also gives 2 runes per aspect with 3 possible aspects, but has 3 runes, which are very far apart. strange.
The pattern of nodes in research isn't set, so they can be far apart, making successful research harder, or close together. The number of nodes isn't set either. You got lucky on the levitator research and got an easy one.
In any case, you might want to try for a fresh research note for the paving stone, to see if you get an easier version.
Reading that research note you have there, it might be solvable if the starting node was the bottom one you have lit up. If so, then put 3 runes in a straight line from the top lit node to the one on the left, then 1 rune between that one and the one below. 6 runes total used, which was what you said you have.
Exactly 1 in 36 chunks.
Thanks
have you tried using the voxel minimap instead of reis and see if that works any better for you

I've switched to Mapwriter, and I find I prefer it to Rei's Minimap.

Still? I remember bringing this up a few times back in TC3.
A list of Vanilla/TC4 things lacking aspects:
Cocoa (block)
Horse Armor
Name Tags
Tainted Pigs
Crusted Taint (Missing the Vitium aspect)
Tainted soil (same as above)
Fibrous Taint
Also just noticed that blocks of flesh show up as crusted taint in the thaumometer.

I'd suggest having a look at Haighyorkies videos, he's doing in depth research videos, not checked if hes got the one you want yet but you can see here.
But from what i can remember it only has those three aspects to it
Is that they one they use in the hexxit modpack?
make the image a .jpg file then try again
Dunno, I've never used that modpack. The minimap was suggested waaaaay earlier in this thread.
Ah, I see your problem. You can solve it by removing the research page from the research table and trying again. According to Azanor, occasional impossible researches are intentional behavior. Sorry!
What if depending on what aspects the node has, the effect it does when destroyed? if it has fire, it explodes with a ball of fire burning you and pushing you away, if it has water it explodes in hundreds of ice shards (like the ice foci) in all directions, etc
At least Mojang didn't charge us to add it into Minecraft!
Also, planted nether wart can't be learned from, but dropped nether wart can.
If it's air then pushes you away? earth no idea but order maybe lowers the strength of the punch and perdito makes it stronger or cause more damage to you
I like it!
http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1837987-
The pattern of nodes in research isn't set, so they can be far apart, making successful research harder, or close together.
