FYI, I was using the 1.11 version and noticed that when you look at the permissions for a bag, and hover over "Public" it references "Private" and vice versa. Do I trust what the button says or what the tool tip says?

Thanks.
The buttons are correct, the tooltips are in the wrong place.
Sorry it took so long to test, I've been on vacation for a couple weeks, but indeed, this seems to fix the 'items with x in the name' problem. Thanks much! I'll be updating my pack to use this new version today.
As for adding a feature that dumps the recipes to a .drd file that would have been helpful, but I already spent the better part of a couple days figuring things out the old way, and am done now. But it would certainly be a useful thing for the mod to have for the benefit of other modpack creators.
first thank you for that awesome all-round Backpack mod. Yeah, there are many Backpack mods out there, but none is them is that highly configurable like yours.
Currently I have one problem, one suggestion and one question:
The problem:
I'm running a forge server (1.12.1-14.22.0.2452) with Backpacks (3.3.2) and I turned "Allow auto-collect & auto-resupply" to false.
And from time to time I'm getting the following message in the console:
Ingame there is also a message saying analogous that the server disabled the auto load?!
The suggestion:
Could you add/insert an option which defines a backpack only as virtual item. So that you can setup backpacks either as item based or as omnipresent. Meaning, that a user won't be able to craft any backpack related objects - he would only able to type /backpack or /bp to access it?
The question:
How could the option "Backpack heights" and "Backpack widths" be used/adjusted? I understand, that the option is meant as an array what doesn't make any sense for me. How am I able to configure e.g. that a backpack has 9 columns and 5 rows?

Kind regards,
Lachrymology
That message shows up whenever somebody tries to use the backpack's auto-loader feature, it just lets them know why the auto-load didn't do anything. The (untranslated) message also gets logged on the server, it's nothing to worry about but if you find it annoying I could add an option to not log it on the server.
The first height and first width in the "Backpack heights" and "Backpack widths" arrays configure the initial size for new backpacks, each additional height and width after that adds an additional upgrade tier. Using an upgrade pouch on a backpack will upgrade its size to the next tier.
So, Backpack Widths = [9], Backpack Heights = [5] will make an un-upgradeable backpack with 9 columns and 5 rows, while Backpack Widths = [7, 8], Backpack Heights = [5, 6] will make a backpack with 7 columns and 5 rows that can be upgraded once to have 8 columns and 6 rows.
As for the suggestion, I've added a /backpack command to this experimental build, it's turned off by default because it's essentially a free indestructible backpack but you can enable it with the "Allow backpack command" option.
It won't prevent regular backpacks from being crafted or used as that's not really a feature I'd want to implement, but the recipes are stored in the assets folder of the mod's jar file so if you really want to prevent anybody crafting a regular backpack you can remove those recipes files.
I've done a huge leap of joy after reading that you've implemented the command /backpack which is configurable. Awesome!
Nah, I never had in mind to circumvent the main function of your mod and prevent the crafting of the backpacks - nevertheless you revealed a method of doing so if somebody is interesing in preventing the crafting of it.
Thank you for the explanation of the widths and height - now I've understood the idea behind it and I'm able to configure it correctly. ^^
Okay, so I didn't worried about the message at all, because FML said it's a warning. :-p For me it would be only the question how am I able to stop informing the user. For me as player it's kinda annoying reading very often at the top left that auto-load has been disabled. The server could log the message, but for me as server owner not needed, because I know that I've turned it off! :-D So would it be hard for you to setup two new options in the config that allow us to turn these two messages (client/server) on/off?
Kind regards,
Lachrymology
EDIT: The topic auto-load .. I figured it out at the client side .. could it be that the control option "Auto-Load fomr inventory or chest" is a toggle option and responsible for triggering the message 'that auto-load has been disabled'?! :-DD

The "Auto-Load from inventory or chest" keybinding is responsible for triggering the message on the client and is already rebindable, so to prevent it happening on your own client you can unbind it.
Since Auto-Load is disabled on the server it is only disabled on the clients while they are actually playing on that server, that means they can still use the auto-load keybinding in Single Player and without the message they may not understand why their keybinding doesn't work in Multi Player.
I only tested the backpack command briefly so do let me know if there are any issues.
After using /backpack at least once if you use the "Open first backpack in inventory" keybinding when you don't have any backpacks in your inventory it should open your /backpack backpack.
there is a bug when i try to change the controls (load backpack from inventory from l to ñ) crashes the game. if its other mod really sorry

The crash occurred because I asked LWJGL if a unicode key is down and LWJGL doesn't support unicode keys. I could certainly prevent it from crashing but that keybinding still won't work for unicode keys.
So ñ (and other unicode characters) aren't supported for that keybinding.
thanks for checking anyway, i have too much mods and they add hotkeys, is it really impossible to use unicode keys? is there any chance to use the ñ?
LWJGL's Keyboard.isKeyDown function definitely doesn't support unicode keys (see this MC bug) but it's possible that LWJGL's Keyboard.getEventKey function could support unicode.
I don't have access to a non-US keyboard to be able to check, but if unicode keybindings can work at all then they should work in this version (3.3.2c).
i have an idea for your mod, thermal backpack, or furnace backpack, we won't have to waiting in the same place to cook anything.
That can be done using quantum backpacks and hoppers - see spoiler.
Here is an example of an automated furnace that takes ores out of a quantum backpack, smelts them and pipes the smelted ingots back into another quantum backpack (outdated screenshot)The backpack is configured to collect and resupply ores, so every time you pick up an ore it is automatically collected by the backpack in your inventory and piped into the furnace
The new 1.12.1 version of Backpacks! works. Great!
Thank you!
Thanks so much for working hard on a great mod.
FYI, I was using the 1.11 version and noticed that when you look at the permissions for a bag, and hover over "Public" it references "Private" and vice versa. Do I trust what the button says or what the tool tip says?
Thanks.
The buttons are correct, the tooltips are in the wrong place.
thanks for the prompt reply!
Thanks again for the fix!

Hi Brad16840,
first thank you for that awesome all-round Backpack mod.
Hi Brad16840,
I've done a huge leap of joy after reading that you've implemented the command /backpack which is configurable.

So ñ (and other unicode characters) aren't supported for that keybinding.
please prevent the crashing and thanks your mod is great
This version (3.3.2b for MC 1.11.2) should prevent that crash, but unicode keybindings still won't work.
thanks for checking anyway, i have too much mods and they add hotkeys, is it really impossible to use unicode keys? is there any chance to use the ñ?
LWJGL's Keyboard.isKeyDown function definitely doesn't support unicode keys (see this MC bug) but it's possible that LWJGL's Keyboard.getEventKey function could support unicode.
I don't have access to a non-US keyboard to be able to check, but if unicode keybindings can work at all then they should work in this version (3.3.2c).
yeah the 3.3.2c lets me use the ñ thank you, you've made the 3.3.2b and 3.3.2c just because i asked?
Yes, I'll add the fix to version 3.3.3 when I have time to do a proper update.
i have an idea for your mod, thermal backpack, or furnace backpack, we won't have to waiting in the same place to cook anything.
That can be done using quantum backpacks and hoppers - see spoiler.
can you add the idea? its better cause you can add or remove fuel, (i am sure i am not the first with this idea)
