Does the grinder speed scale with more power? If so is there any cutoff point where I should make another grinder instead of adding more power to the first one? I'm growing plenty of canola, far more than a grinder with 4 steam engines on it can keep up with, just wondering if I should build more grinder/engine sets or just add more engines to the first grinder.
The Grinder's speed goes up with it's input speed.
Also for Reika's info, Solar Towers cause a decent bit of lag a lot of lag[4 Solar Towers cause ~2 FPS on an Instance with 3GB of RAM allocated] taking 1673.47576μs to 1502.06388μs of tick tome according to Opis, by ProfMobius. I hope this is fixed soon, as I love solar power.
Edit: Actually it is because I have over 700 villagers in my house... Um... Rivvest!!!! Y u make 700 villagerz in mah haus?!?!
Would love to play some modded MC With you! You aren't just good at coding - even playing the actual game!
That was in fact the result of learning every little mechanic of how the game works. I knew how to design everything, and how to exploit it if desired. This also strongly helped me learn to mod, as I knew the function of code just by looking at it ("this is the part that makes [x] happen!").
Once the cutting head of the boring machine gets a certain distance away from my base the only thing it seems to mine is cobble. All day long, nothing but cobble. If I go all the way out there---and generate the chunks ahead of it with my player character---suddenly it starts finding stuff besides cobble again.
This is horizons pack, 1.0.8.
The chunk population code is probably not running. How far are we talking?
Just wondering if there was a way you could make it so steam engines and stuff that use fire also use thaumcraft nitor? I'm not saying make it have the heat of lava though, if this is already a thing then nevermind.
I also agree with twister, if there were a way to automatically shear leaves it would be nice, then you could have two separate farms, one for getting leaves and one for getting saplings to give to the leaf shearing wood cutter to continue getting more.
I am saying that, for the case of dye trees, being able to grow white dye, as in a bleaching agent, is perfectly fine, but growing bonemeal is OP -- I know what I can do with it, I know what I have done with trees before, and I think it's a flaw in an otherwise great idea.
And, I think that the rainbow biome that it adds in is very much a balance concern by having no hostile mobs and yet everything beneficial is present.
And finally, on DyeTrees, I thought that the idea of working in a modded/modding environment where there are significant other mods that use Lapis as valuable items, that having a farmable source of lapis instead of blue dye is a mistake.
As it happens, I have included the ability to make the trees drop "Tree Dye" instead. However, there is still (more difficult) farmability. In the case of bonemeal, one white+one sugar+one wheat = one bonemeal.
I like legacy craft. The idea of being able to make zombies and creepers dumb again is great -- creepers were never supposed to be intelligent. Heck, if they were really intelligent, they'd either target light sources, or learn to spread themselves out, and try to blow a hole under you. And being able to turn off the "zombies destroy any village loaded" "feature" of hard is pure joy.
I found out (and experienced) the reasons why it is not always working and that zombie range and "reinforcement calls" sometimes behave as in vanilla. It is because of Mekanism further buffing the vanilla zombies. Also, any mod that spawns the original zombie entities is not going to be bound by LegacyCraft's rules. There is no way around this.
Understandable. Now, is there a way for me to say "a mod block X has heat/cold"? And if not, why not? It seems reasonable -- I can't and don't expect you to know and assign values for all the mods out there.
No. Again, realism is key, and that means there is only one acceptable value.
Cool Houses! I see a are also a fan of Nether Brick. Also, what mod added that ridable dragon?
DragonMounts. I am not fond of the changes in 1.6 - loss of easy control, roaring noises, and loss of naming ability - but I never play without this mod.
Also, I added a new ball bearing recipe to get around the issue plaguing them.
I got a crash when a meteor from MeteorCraft 1.6 v11b.zip airburst. I recall in one of the changelogs that this might have been addressed, so I don't know if this is the same error or something else.

Hey there, really enjoying getting to know this mod. Is there a way to regulate Gasoline engines "on" time? For example, I have tried every possible (that I thought of...) redstone signal to it, it always runs if there is ethanol inside. Which, of course, burns my ethanol. Short of physically disconnecting the Fuel Line from the engine, is there any other way to turn the engine "on" or "off"?
Also, maybe I missed something in the in-game guidebook, but how do you convert ethanol crystals to a liquid form?
Placing a pump on an engine from the output face when facing the direction of the engine causes server corruption. Only way to fix it is to delete the world. Big issue...
Give this error:

The Engine Control Unit, by DragonTech [I presume Reika would call it DragonTech :P] Industries is your friend, for just 6 Ingots of Industrial-Grade HSLA Steel, an Ingot of Gold, a Circuit, and some red powder, you can make one of your own in a handy Worktable.
This just in! The scientists at DragonTech have discovered a brake through, allowing the use of Electrum instead of Gold!
I'm in the process of setting up a private server and noticed an error from DragonAPI in my Forge logs. Apparently, it failed to increase the potion ID limit. I couldn't find any similar results reading the last couple pages of the this thread, searching this thread, or searching Google. So I thought I should post my log here for consideration. The game loads to the main menu without crashing, but I haven't tested beyond that.
Also, in line 8896 of the log, Rotarycraft reports "HarvestCraft not found, loading iron screwdriver recipe." even though Pam's Harvestcraft is definately installed. What's up with that?

Actually between my posting and reading this, I found this and used it. Does present a new issue though, as the Fuel Line only appears to attach from the bottom...and the Engine Control Unit needs to be on the bottom too... I couldn't get the ECU to work anywhere else and I couldn't attach the fuel line anywhere else.
[EDIT: Nvm, you can attach the fuel line to the ECU itself and it will make it into the engine]
And still can't figure out how to make liquid ethanol.
Also there is no good way to control the flow of liquids through liquid pipes. I tried - with no success - to use a Valve, but fluid seemed to go through it no matter what redstone signal was being applied next to it.

The valve pipe is merely a controlled-extraction pipe. There is no way to shut off normal pipe transport.

I got an update for y'all on the NEI U crash bug. my NEI in my custom modpack is workin fine which got me curious, what if some mod is fixing the bug, so i removed all mods but dragon api, rotarycraft, codechickencore, and NEI. guess what ... CRASH. Some mod is actually fixing the problem i will do a little more digging but my first suspects are NEI addons or NEI plugins edit: nope not NEI addons or plugins anyone got any ideas
no i do not use UE related mods, but that doesn't matter cause guess what WE FOUND IT!!! it must be COFH core that or thermal expansion I tried with the original 4 mods and added cofh core, thermal expansion, and redstone arsenal. i'm gonna try without TE and redstone arsenal see if i still get a stable NEI EDIT: so yea you must have COFH core and Thermal expansion with rotarycraft in order for it not to crash upon pressing U over an item in NEI
I just confirmed you must have COFH core and Thermal Expansion along side RC, that or another mod that helps similarly. with just COFH core the crash will still occur unfortunately that means ore gen so for temporary fix you would have to go into the cofh configs and disable it's ore gen if it would be undesirable
Well the game no longer crashes with CoFH and TE3, but now since TE3 comes with some other mods like MultiPart and Microblocks my RC machines have disappeared from my world. Screw it, I can live with not being able to see usages.
lol yea COFH and TE3 are very robust and invasive mods, i don't even think you can turn off the ore generation aside from setting the values defining the generation of each ore to 0. CoFH does soo much on it's own also. personally i have TE3 in my pack for ore doubling to help with RC .. thats basically all it does, and the simple pipes it adds. i read a forum post about how BC isn't really necessary anymore and the future existance of modpacks that don't have it, so i am trying it out in my modpack as I want to have a good balanced pack without any mods that are there just for the sake of being there. However now that RC can: power AE systems, provides most of the functionalities of MFR and now has a early game ore triple to make TE irrelevant i may redesign my pack, since now TE is there only for the sake of being there. all i have to do is cunningly and slowly get Reika to replicate each of the useful pulverizer recipes in the grinder... Anyway this whole thing with MJ and RF kinda sucks.. on one hand it was kinda a **** move for BC to force other mods hand with their new energy API and the game mechanics that come along with it, but on the TE side it's kinda a **** move to split the community without actually providing much unique functionality. hopefully when the mods get updated again the TE and the BC devs combine their efforts towards a universal power API
I'm so glad someone found a fix! Sucks I can't use it though... I gotta pull ot RC for now til its fixed. I don't use BC or TE and I'm not gonna start now. Plus I really need the usage feature of NEI since my memory is as good as a centenarian with alzheimer's lol!
Check your configs. I cannot fix a bug I never experience and therefore cannot find the cause of.
Check a few pages back. The community debugged this on Christmas. Its caused by not having CoFH Core and Thermal Expansion installed with Rotarycraft and DragonAPI. NEI works just fine if you have both installed but if you remove them then the bug appears. That's why some people see this and some people don't.
I'm not sure what to check for in my configs. I went through them all and can't seem to find any block ID conflicts, but I thought those were a bit more verbose in the stacktrace. I'm not sure what else to check for, but nothing seems to be conflicting. Removing EnderForest makes it work fine, so something in there is conflicting. Any suggestions on what to look for and I'm on it
Also, in regard to ate-ate_v2, I have been having issues with NEI and your mod as well, trying to use NEI functions and it crashes. I will do some more testing to see if I can get consistent results before reporting anything, because after a crash I try to reproduce, and it works fine.
Is there any way you can make the sprinklers produce less particles, maybe like a config option? I have to have particles off if I want to have decent fps next to my farm. I only have 4 and it drops my fps down by 20.
I see what looks like massive replication of engines.
And, I see someone who believes like me -- build enough. Enough dakka (1) (2)
The realism rule disallows this.
Actually, I was thinking realism. As far as I know, none of the mods I use includes a hot box; EBXL at one point was going to add a cold block (Anon The Mouse and I worked it and the behaviors; Scott had it low on the coding priority as it was a new feature and updating to newer minecraft came first).
Just out of curiosity, lets say you had a mod with an "anti-griddle", or some other device that sucked the heat out of something to cool it off/freeze it; would you want to represent it's waste heat going somewhere? Would you want to represent the "fridge/freezer" being cold? (We were proud of our design for PermaFrost, as a complement to cracked sand; sadly, ...)
And, even if none of my mods currently uses it, it would not surprise me if something in thaumcraft would be as hot as boiling water, as a quick thought (how does that crucible work?), or some other mod having, oh, how about rocket-exhaust hot from GalacticCraft?
As it happens, I have included the ability to make the trees drop "Tree Dye" instead.
Thank you.
However, there is still (more difficult) farmability. In the case of bonemeal, one white+one sugar+one wheat = one bonemeal.

... yea, glad I don't use that. Just infernal mobs.
(In regard to a mod that gives realistic animal genetics):
Would you really rather have bees that make diamonds and oil with magical genetic blocks?
... did I really ask that?

2013-12-30 10:04:50 [FINEST] [DragonAPI] Sent event FMLPreInitializationEvent to mod DragonAPI
Mod Spotlights - Let's Play - Good Times
All animal crops, yes. This has been fixed.
I noticed this too, and since fixed it.
You need a magma crucible.
The valve pipe is merely a controlled-extraction pipe. There is no way to shut off normal pipe transport.

Mod Spotlights - Let's Play - Good Times
Check your configs.
I cannot fix a bug I never experience and therefore cannot find the cause of.
Check a few pages back. The community debugged this on Christmas. Its caused by not having CoFH Core and Thermal Expansion installed with Rotarycraft and DragonAPI. NEI works just fine if you have both installed but if you remove them then the bug appears. That's why some people see this and some people don't.
Also, in regard to ate-ate_v2, I have been having issues with NEI and your mod as well, trying to use NEI functions and it crashes. I will do some more testing to see if I can get consistent results before reporting anything, because after a crash I try to reproduce, and it works fine.
Mod Spotlights - Let's Play - Good Times
I see what looks like massive replication of engines.
And, I see someone who believes like me -- build enough. Enough dakka (1) (2)
Thank you.
????
... yea, glad I don't use that. Just infernal mobs.

(In regard to a mod that gives realistic animal genetics):
Would you really rather have bees that make diamonds and oil with magical genetic blocks?
... did I really ask that?
