Let's see what he's going to do; he's already asked what level I intended to change the HSLA pickaxe to, so I'm going to assume that he's going to see what he can do to make it changeable as a config option.
Hey everyone. Reika I sent you a note but I don't know if you have gotten it yet. Basically I'm wondering if the ammonia's synthesizer auto input for mods like enderIO is broken. All of the other machines are working fine but the synthesizer will not input the ammonia chloride while the quicklime is put in with ease by enderIO.
Also I'm having trouble with my simple fuel cell reactor. It's a 6 inline reactor and have four neutron reflectors on the inside, one neutron absorber on the inside, and four layers of concrete after that. Still though neutrons get out and wreck havoc on my nearby base. Do the neutron reflectors 'reflect' the neutron in the same direction? I thought the description said it would be absorb if not reflected? If anyone could help explain the mechanics of neutrons that'd be great thank you!

If a reflector does not reflect a neutron, it does not absorb it. It's also only a 25% chance to reflect a neutron, meaning they are quite poor for neutron control. They are only there to boost the efficiency of your reactors. When they do reflect a neutron, it is only straight back the way it came.
Concrete is something like 60% chance to absorb, so it's also pretty poor. Steel is the best of the cheap resources at I think 90%, but Bedrock Ingot Blocks are the absolute best at 97.5%.
Your neutron absorber doesn't work btw. That is only for fusion neutrons. ( It will still carry heat, though you might as well use a boiler. )
Yes. It's to prevent people from bypassing the tech tree by using heaps of low grade engines to run high power machines.
You need bedrock upgrades to get more then 4 engines on the same powertrain. And to get bedrock you need to advance to better engines.
And why do you need whole banks of engines to run the centrifuge? It can run perfectly (if rather slow) on a Steam Engine.
Or a single conversion engine (i.e. Magnetostatic) upgraded to T1.
Gearboxes doesnt explode with to much power sources but shaft junctions do. Gearboxes explodes if too much torque, speed or power goes in or out of them. The Limits are the same as the shafts.

Actually this is exactly the case. Yes it was the shaft junctions exploding. I have a crap ton of surplus EU right now i was wanting to try and use it up. Plus the constant noise of the steam engine drives me insane.... I guess i will have to just dig it deeper. I would still like to run this setup with the engines, What type of bedrock device would i need to combine them?
When crafting recipes on a crafting table, if component amounts are such, that after producing a number of items the, remaining items will now produce a different item, shift clicking on the product will produce both types of items, using all components.
To replicate:
Surround two HSLA gears with stacks of 3+ HSLA ingots. Shift click on compressor.
expected:
two compressors added to inventory, stacks of ingots remaining on the crafting grid (standard minecraft behaviour)
observed:
two compressors + number of cylinders added to inventory.
I've been seeing this too with EIO conduits. I don't have hundreds though in say... a 3x3 array of chunks. It might depend on other things too like the energy core multiblock from Draconic Evolution.
Reika, your rules say that if anyone wants to create a private pack to use with a few friends on a private server that you would like to be notified ahead of time, I wanted to do just that. I wanted to ask for your permission before I did create the pack to make sure that it was alright. I also wanted to ask if it would be alright to add the mod pack as a private unlisted pack in the FTB launcher, a third party pack that would require a specific code to access. Would this be allowed or would I have to have them download your mods from you directly?

Steam engines are 16kw each and totally free though. ( So you can do 64kw before the bedrock upgrade with them. )
I just had a quick question about the lubricant hoses. When connecting to three points in a cube-corner arrangement, they've had this same funny visual behavior for a long time now, and I'm wondering if it's just something weird I'm doing, or if it just hasn't been fixed yet.
There are two instances of this behavior in the picture below.

just right click the shaft junction with a bedrock 2x gear unit
Reika is aware of this, he is not updating to Forestry 4 for a while since very little people will be using it for a while since it changes alot and it would take alot of work for Reika to update for both version of Forestry
I'm curious, would doing that put the original gear unit back in your hand? Or would you lose the original in the replacement process?
the shaft junction has not a gear unit int he crafting recipe. its just an upgrade. If you upgrade the extractor with an bedrock borer your dont get the steel borer back

If you're wondering, I am using V9b.
By any chance, is Carpenter's Blocks also installed?
Reika, I have a small suggestion for reactorcraft. Could you, if at all possible, make the neutron reflectors movable using sticky and other pistons? I would like that because it would allow for the creation of complex and interesting control systems involving neutron reflectors for large nuclear reactors such as my own survival one.
Regardless of if you accept my suggestion, I am happy to say that your wonderful mod series has empowered me to irradiate my base in ways I never thought possible.
Question. I have reactorcraft installed, and a pile of thorium ore pilfered from the nether. What am I to do with this? When I rightclick it with NEI, it shows some pink box and says "item.thorium.reactorcraft" if I smelt it.
Also I didnt know the junctions could be upgraded. Is there a specific power limit or is it the sole purpose of combining more than 4 engine outputs?

How do I upgrade the EU engines? I tried clicking on them with the gold coil in hand yet nothing happened. I know of cranking them up to max in the GUI. Didn't know any other way of upgrading the ones I already have.
Hello,
I am an experienced player yet new to rotarycraft. Please cut me some slack. i am having so much fun with this mod and learning to use the tech.
Please bear with me the slightly noobish questions.....
1. Are the gear boxes supposed to explode when trying to link more than 4 power sources together?
2. If so is there a way to link 2 banks of IC2 crossover motors together to power a centrifuge?
3 Is there a better method using the IC2 crossover engines to power the centrifuge?
Thank you so much for this mod. i am having a blast! (sometimes literally with my gear boxes)

I think this happens with both lubricant pipes and liquid ones, as carbon dioxide from ReactorCraft does the same visual glitch
