Bow don't breaks through the head too =( I see only inscription "Critical" (from Damage Indicators mod) and that's all... If i hit the legs - all right.
Hey, I've been a bit busy with mod pack and other stuff, but I just wanted to give a quick follow up to the previous issues. Since updating to the recent version and resetting the configs, I haven't been having any issues with events or death/undeath spawns. I still haven't gotten around to doing further tests, like the Twilight Forest stuff in the other pack, but judging by your Let's Play I will assume that is working =P Anyway, if I run into any more issues I'll be sure to let you know, but at the moment everything seems good.
Darkness message and Grue Spawning Bug.... When im often down the depths of an ocean, the warning msg form bein ghte dark appears an eventually a Grue spawns ... my issue is that as far a si know, there arent torches etc that can be placed underwater so as to light it up to not be "in the dark" but imho i feel that the grue spawning from dark whilst in the middle of an ocean should not be a thing.
Hmm are you using the latest vesion of Lycanites Mobs, I've recently stopped Grues from spawning underwater, unless it's broken, I'll check!

I'll take a look into these bugs! The attacking the head issue is going to be tricky though, if you press F3 + B in game you'll see its hitbox is fairly accurate yet vanilla minecraft doesn't seem to allow attacks from so high so I'm going to have to do some investigation.
Update: Deathly Strides - Version 1.10.10.1 for Minecraft 1.7.10
Configs older than 1.10.8.4 will be reset!
Improvement: Changed the Strider model slightly, the legs now come from under the main body instead of the sides, this has also increased its height be 1 block.
Improvement: Added a piece of the RotaryCraft API to add better support for flying mobs.
Balancing: The attack range of Spriggan and Eyewig laser attacks has been reduced to 8 blocks.

They shouldn't spawn in fully lit areas, other than the special types (fire/lava/water/trees/crops) or in the Nether. Also you can get some from the mob events if your area is large (>32 blocks long/wide) I don't think there's any way to stop the events from spawning in lit areas other than disabling them completely.
The mobs do drop experience, maybe you have some other mod that is interfering somehow.
Does anyone have any idea what might cause the mob events to stop spawning mobs properly? I haven't touched the configs for this world (other than turning off the block destruction for several. Could use an option for Nether Souls as they wipe the floor with me because I refuse to attack them unless they are far enough above ground ) The mobs were working fine for a few days, but now the event happens, but I get no mobs spawning anywhere from it. Its not something at my area, because they've happened while I was exploring a long ways out, and still no mobs. I also checked the mob counts with Opis, Chupacabra had almost 300. I changed them to despawn, and now there's nothing with a huge number that could be filling the spawn caps.

All the buildings are empty, nothing remains, all that can be seen is mass hordes in all directions of zombies, skeletons and other creatures never before seen. Inside isn't safe, Outside isn't safe, what will u do to survive this planet and escape? Can you survive the 1st day without death claiming you?
There is no natural light, when night time comes it's pitch black, no moon light and all that is heard is the scratching and moaning of whats around lurking to destroy you. Mining reveals unbeknownst horrors from the rocks just waiting to come out and devour your soul. Puddles of liquid blue or purple are not water, but also intent on harming you.

Also, I think you should change the strider's texture a little. It looks like a cat nose.
I'm sorry but I really think the baby strider height is perfect, its still very tall but not so where is just gets akward. At the current height, it looks like it can't even grab you with it's tentacles.
I'm really just giving suggestions to try to make this mob even better, but it is up to Lycanite on what to do, though it's leg clipping problem and its incredible size in the inventory box do need to be fixed.

They were working fine for a few days, then just stopped spawning anything.

Anyways, smaller legs would make it's size look less realistic and it would borderline cartoony. Since the Lycanite strider could not support it's weight like that on the small legs your describing. Though the body idea may work, yet that puts alot of work on Lycanite.
Is there some way for you to make the Grue spawning system work with Dynamic Lights? Because I can be wandering through a cave with my torch out in front, and I'm told that things will eat me in the dark. And then Grues start tearing me a new one if I don't start placing torches. I've been looking through the configs to try and find a way to fix it, but the only solution I've found so far is to just prevent them from spawning in the Overworld.
I know your working on adding more options to the config. I would just like to be able to turn off the scepters entirely if possible. Just turning off the recipes still lets them spawn in the world, and they spawn VERY frequently in ruins from the ruins mod. I've got 12 scepters from one ruin before.

Then the tentacles should be longer. maybe instead, the strider' legs get shorter, but where the legs are cut, there would be a body instead of it just having a head, thus the legs could move to the side again and therefore no longer clip. Finally, the strider would have to be renamed if it's height was cut, because it could then no longer be classified as a strider

Anyways, smaller legs would make it's size look less realistic and it would borderline cartoony. Since the Lycanite strider could not support it's weight like that on the small legs your describing. Though the body idea may work, yet that puts alot of work on Lycanite.
