are you done whit the eyewig yet? iam not trying to be annoying or being doshy just askin
I'm gonna start working on it tomorrow so it should hopefully be ready by Sunday, it won't be rideable or tameable for now but it will be rideable in the future. I'll be working on the server tonight and will hopefully have the main things setup for the Eyewig release so that everyone can check out the new Eyewigs on the server too!
I intend to get one new mob or major feature out every Sunday if I can, if not it'll move into the next week.
Is it possible to turn down spawn rates? The Pinkies in the Nether are just insane. There's like 100 in plain view. Otherwise, amazing mod. :3
I'm going to lower their spawn rates and also look at the Jousts too in the next update, for now though you can change the spawn rates of all mobs by going to .minecraft/ or where you mod setup is and then into config/lycanite/ and then in DemonMobs.cfg. I'd lower the Chunk Spawn Min and Max values and then the spawn weight too.
The problem is Jousts and Pinkies are both classed as animals instead of monsters, this is because they don't despawn like other mobs and setting them as monsters would cause them to eventually out spawn every other monster because monsters depend on other monsters to despawn. I think just lowering the chunk spawn rates and the spawn rates should fix things though.
Oh, there is one new config setting I will add now actually, I can limit how many mobs spawn per chunk, normally it's unlimited I think, but I can add a new option to limit it where 0 will be unlimited (set the spawn weight and chunk max to 0 to disable spawning all together). This could solve a lot of problems.

Awesome. I tried the method you suggested, and it didn't seem to work. They just happened to overwrite all the other mobs, but just slower. Can't wait for the update.
Hey there Lycanite! I have Biomes O Plenty installed, and because vanilla mobs won't spawn in these new Biomes, I had to download Custom Mob Spawner Mod in order for them to spawn, and this is where the problem comes in, I then installed your mod and I have yet to see any Lycanite's Mobs spawn because Default settings don't have them on.
I know I can change the settings in the Custom Mob Spawner by pressing F6, but it is a pain to have to manually set each monster to spawn in a certain Biome each time I start a new world, (I play hardcore). There's a setting in Custom Mob Spawner that I can press to "Reset to Default," would it be possbile for you to implement your mod's configs for DesertMobs in the right Biomes, DemonMobs in their respective Biomes, etc, in the next update?
Thanks in advance and sorry for the long and possibly confusing post. Let me know if I need to clarify some parts.
Thanks for posting that here! I completely forgot to post it. I just wanna say that this mod is really great work. The monsters look & interact very well. Can't wait to see what mobs etc you add into this next.

If you head to the configs fodler (usually in .minecraft) I'm sure you edit the Custom Mob Spawner configs which is a lot quicker than using the in game GUI.

I found the DefaultSpawnConfiguration.txt file in .minecraft, but it looks confusing. Also, which mobs would you put in which Biomes from your mod?
Been setting up a mod pack(around 130 mods) and noticed an ID conflict between lycanites and bibliocraft, even though the configs were not set to the same id ranges, to investigate, I created a clean instance with just NEI and lycanites, with the configs I set up, and noticed that while I assigned all lycanites IDs to be in the 25000 range, they were in the 24000 range ingame, so I deleted the configs and let it regenerate, the IDs ingame did not change, but the configs regenerated fine, so I tested changing the cooked pinky meat id back into the 25000 range and ingame it remained the same id(in the 24000 range), which means the configs are being generated with your ids, but ignoring any config changes and still using the internal ids, this was tested in a few forge builds, including the latest(945).
Kind of an issue when a mod doesn't respect its configs
The latest 1.6.4 MediaFire link works ok for me, unless you're trying the 1.6.4 link? You can find a direct download link on the Planet Minecraft page that should be the latest.
WOW THIS MOD IS ...AMAZING !!! I love the textures ,and the mobs ! Also the idea of the scepters is really cool (like having a dispensers in a hand) and also the fact that we can teame them !! Thank you very much, i was dissapointed how the minecraft wolfs were so weak ,but the erepede is amazing !!

Hmm this is quite odd, I use Bibliocraft and my mod together all the time too... The IDs from the config should definitely be used too, I'll take a look into it.
Is it possible for you to do this on a server? Such as Craftbukkit? I have a server that I play with just friends and I would like more excitement instead of the usual lame mobs and this look amazing, If you can add it to a server can you tell me how to do it?

Well, he already has a server set up with his mod.
YEAH Lycan, fix the server!!! Haven't been able to get on since this morning, and it was acting weird then. No commands worked and opening doors and chest had a 15 to 20 second delay. It was all weird.
Or did I get banned already? LMAO.
TX lycan!!

I'm also having this problem. Adjusting spawn rates doesn't work. Disabling Pinkies doesn't work. Every mob in my nether is now a Pinky. Also there's WAY more mobs in the nether than there ever should be...

It's unfortunate. As amazing as this mod is, it makes the Nether virtually unplayable because of the over 200 Pinkys that will just gang up on you. I hope this is quick fixed really soon as I really want to use it. :c
well if its up and running am I allowed to make it so that it runs on my server? All credit goes to him of course, But atm it seems like the nether is way too Hard to beat. Im guessing all mobs spawn at the rate of pig men
Wow. I didn't realize how right the other posts here were about the Pinky spawn rates...
I just spent about 20 minutes flying through the nether, and I found nothing but Pinkies and Lava Monsters (because they spawn in lava).
I've tried lowering the spawn weight and rate, but nothing visibly changes.
Sorry about the pinky problems everyone! I fix it later today, I'll add a max spawns per chunk limit setting that should prevent this outbreak of Pinkies! The spawn controls in the config should work but Minecrafts spawning system is quite unreliable I've found. This should also tackle the Jousts taking over the desert too! I think there was a bug somewhere with spawning that the new AI system has fixed and now things are spawning like crazy!
Hey Lycanite! You may know me from the forums, I have been recently commenting and stuff. I basically love the models and textures of your mobs, and I have decided that I will become a modder too . So I have some questions:1: Do you think I could make the best mobs with MCreator?2: What programs are you using?3:What programs do you suggest for a newbie like me?I know how to use MCreator, techne and texturing. Any advices?Have a nice day Oh, and I already PM you about this, but it seems it didnt work
The server should be up again, I've been trying out a different permissions system, etc so the server was up and down. Hopefully this week I'll have it running smoothly with the Custom NPCs implemented, I'll probably need to update the mod pack though.
Lycanite which moding program do you use to create these amazing models and is it for PC or Mac also is it hard to use?
I used Blender for my 3D modelling, it's free and works on Windows, Linux and I think Mac too! There are a tun of YouTube tutorials to get you started too! You'll need to use the Forge OBJ Model importer in order to use them.
You'll also need to export your models out of blender when they're done, I think it's File -> Export -> Wavefront OBJ, make sure you name each model part and that you triangulate all your faces, you'll know what all that means once you get started, let me know if you have any questions.

Feel free to use my mod in public mod packs and servers. To use this mod on a server simply download the Forge Installer, run it and choose to install a server and then where you want the server to run from. Once installed, copy this mod into the mods folder just like installing it for your client, the same goes for most other forge mods, some don't work on servers though like the Shaders mod for example, mainly because servers don't need shaders anyway!

Oh, I just noticed you mentioned using this mod on a CraftBukkit server, so if you want both Bukkit plugins and Forge mods, you should use MCPC+ it is a Spigot and Forge hybrid (Spigot is an optimized take on Bukkit and runs Bukkit plugins).

I never knew about MCPC+. Thanks for that! Anyways, can't wait for your update. Been checking back daily waiting to use this mod. :3
The Configuration Files should now actually work! Fixed a very stupid bug! The config was working (would load and save settings) but the default values were being used anyway, lol it was a placeholder I left while upgrading the configs ages ago, I can't believe I've left that in!
Added a new Spawn Option: Spawn Chunk Limit
This will limit how many mobs can spawn at once in a chunk, the default for most mobs is 4 (like vanilla). Pinkies, Jousts and larger/rare/tougher mobs have been lowered to 2 or 1.
Assessed the spawn rates of mobs. I've been in the Nether and you see a Pinky here and there along with large mobs of Pigmen, some Belphs, the occasional Behemoth, a few Nether Souls, some Cacodemons, Ghasts and sometimes Asmodi. Trites are all over the place too. This is done with just my mod and forge both client and server side.
I sat in the Nether for about 30 mins and all seems to be fine...
I don't use Mo' Creatures. But it's just like an endless spawn of Pinkys. There's almost no other mobs once they start spawning in the Nether. :c
