Ok so I modelled the Conba at last! I'll address the minor bugs and concerns and throw a 1.10.1 update soon and then I'll be back on track to add even more mobs. I might slow the cycle back down to 1 update every 2 weeks as I kind of burnt out the last week lol especially with the Microsoft news, etc, I also reactivated my World of Warcraft account which has taken a lot of my time lmao! Anyways tomorrow I'll texture the Conba and draw various item sprites and then the day after I'll code it to the game and create sounds for it!
lol! Nice troll. I didn't like it but new mob events suitably scared the obscenities out of me. I'm playing with a pretty hard core loadout.. Hungeroverhaul, Iguana's TinkerTweaks, Enviromine, Infernal Mobs and Special Mobs, just to name a few. I'd pretty much just spawned. Not even half way through my first day and hadn't made it to any kind of shelter yet. I'd stopped to drink at a river and try to eat and maybe heal, since I'd been attacked by a gorilla and was already close to starving.. when suddenly.. "SUB ZERO!!!" and then all arctic hell broke loose. Lycanites Arctic mobs started spawning in at the junction of a Desert/Plains/Steppe biome. I'm using JAS to spawn my mobs and I KNOW there's not supposed to be any Lycanites Artic mobs spawning there. It's why I took that route on my path to shelter lol.
So.. one death down, I exited, DISABLED ALL Lycanites mob troll events ..and resolved to calmly suggest to you here that perhaps your new mob events should be off by default, please. I'd only just grabbed the update. I didn't know about the new mob events until they killed me. I already have lots of legitimate ways to die in my game, including plenty that are courtesy of Lycanites. I understand some kids might like to cheat in OP armour and weapons and go play with the new mob events but surely they can just ENABLE the mob event craziness, right? ..right?

The mob events are fun, a bit loud though. But that's what the jukebox volume slider is for I've found a couple issues with the mod. 1.10.0d for 1.7.10
First, being picked up by a Raiko or Roc and killing them before they drop you results in permanent fall damage protection until you log out.
Second, the event graphic that pops up is a bit annoying when you're on auto GUI scale. It basically covers most of the center of the screen, making it hard to place blocks, attack things, or avoid that ravine that is coming while you're running across the surface I'm not sure if much can be done about this though, and its just a minor thing.
Third, this has been reported already for 1.7.2, but oceans/rivers are devoid of all life in my 1.7.10 world as well. This may not be on your end though, as I'm not even getting squid. Maybe an issue with a different mod such as Biomes o Plenty.
And last, although this one's probably more of a personal preference. I find the Nether impossibly difficult now, mainly because of Cinders. They attack fast enough that it continuously causes knockback and its almost impossible to move. With Belphs, Ghasts, and other mob mods causing fires all over, there's too many to keep control of And this is on normal difficulty, can't imagine them attacking even faster on hard. I'll probably dive into the configs and tone them down a bit, but maybe they need something done by default. I don't see how surviving in there with just vanilla equipment would be possible at the moment, unless you bring half a inventory full of arrows and a couple bows.
Edit -- Actually I think the real reason these are hard is because your special mob spawners (fire and lava specifically) can spawn right next to the player with no warning. Everything else can only spawn 20+ blocks away from the player. I was just in a Cinderfall where they were no problem, and it reminded me of that.

Mobs from your mod won't spawn if it's in conjunction with mo'creatures (which was recently updated to 1.7.10). I'm assuming it has something to do with custom mob spawner. Though i'll take your mod over his until/if this gets addressed. I dunno if it actually breaks your spawning, but i think he should just remove it as a dependency. I'd rather just use JAS without having to worry about that..

I do not like how Afrits can spawn in a single block of lava. Makes trying to create a cobble gen annoying. I can cover the lava block with another block, but then I go crazy cause all I hear all day in my base is the screeching of Afrits trapped in lava. This is also annoying when combined with Mekanism as there is a generator that is placed over lava.
Do they do this with 1.10.0d as I've tried to fix this bug, it's tricky to test it though as they never seem to do it for me.
I just read the Lycanite mobs disable the drop of necrotic bone from Tinkerers Construct (drops from wither skeletons) Anyway to go around that? I REALLY love both TC and Lycanite mobs, so I would hate to disable your mod.

Lycanites Mobs doesn't affect items drops from other mobs in any way, the Control Vanilla Mobs only affects some spawning settings, for example Vanilla Zombies are prevented from spawning in the Desert if this is set to true (because Crypt Zombies kind of take their place). The spawn rates, item drops, stats, etc of vanilla mobs or any other mob that isn't from Lycanites Mobs isn't affected at all, just some biome restriction. I'll probably rename this config option to make it clear in the future as it's a bit vague at the moment lol!
I have a problem and i just cant figure it out... I only use this mod but mobs wont spawn on any other bio other than plains , forrests , swamps , ocean and mountains. Help someone plz (I'm using the 1.7.2 version.)

Love your mod. It adds to a very boring vanilla world.
But I seem to be having an issue. It may be intended but i figured I'd ask anyway. The frosty mobs seem to be tearing up my armor. Just had a fight with 2 reivers and a frost spider and they all but toasted a suit of iron armor. Is there a setting I can change to tone that down a bit?
Of course it could be just me and I only seem to notice it after those fights. Most of the other mobs don't get to pelt me like those do. They kinda freeze me in place and whack at me.
