I think you should do a pass to remove the mobs that are of a lower quality. Some of them like the Lurker or Troll are barely/badly animated, have muddy textures and to me are just cringe-inducing. On the other hand some like the Roc have a nice appearance (both model and animations) that fits into Minecraft and do cool stuff like picking you up.
I know they can be disabled, but getting the pack to a higher level of quality would just make dropping it into my mod mix so much more of a no-brainer.
I hate to ask since I know how much of a hassle it can be, but... this? The issue is that currently a whole bunch of mods depend on the Animation API to update, and until then they're stuck on 1.7.2. Then once it updates, they have to update too so as end-users we might be waiting a long time to make our perfect mod mix (by which point half the community will have moved on to a new version so yay! repeat the cycle).
OK. Here is a legitimate question I have about the mod. Does the config have an option to turn on/off certain mobs within the game? So, just for an example, if I want to turn off Pinky, can I do that?

I think the problem with a pass check is it'd be too hard to please everyone while deciding what to remove. It'd be better to just clean up the lower quality mobs than to remove them.

on a side note I was wondering since you had a setting for the mobs to react with villagers, if there was a mob faction setting or something I could use to make things like villagers from MCA react back to defend themselves. The golems do target them however. Any help or ideas on the matter would be appreciated, thanks.
Yes thouhg it will be 1.9.1b or c, etc as there are a few things I'm gonna clean up first. The 1.9.1 for MC1.7.2 release will have the biome tags fixed too and will likely be the last release for 1.7.2.

There are a few mobs that I am going to go over and revamp, a lot of the older mobs don't have their textures mapped correctly at all so texturing them is a bit tricky. If anyone is willing to improve on the textures of some of the newer mobs, I'd be happy to take a look and include the changes if they're better and they fit too. Personally, the Lurker is one of my favorites, but its texture could do with a cleaner mapping (some of the pixels on it are clearly not square as they are stretched incorrectly across the model).
My revamp list:
Belph, Pinky and Behemoth need to be upgraded to obj models.
Demon Mobs and most Desert and Swamp Mobs need their textures remapped and tweaked.

I think it's up to MCA to target the mobs, I use the vanilla IMob group, if MCA Guards target those it should work fine.

Maybe you can fill the poop with vespid eggs and then it infects conbas and sends out tamed vespid babies that last until whatever said mob is is dead. OR MAYBE, THE CONBA LOOK AT YOU, THEN MAKE RAIN MADE OF POOP, THUS MAKING PIZZA!!!!! GENIUS!!!

Update: Salty Skies - Hotfix B - Version 1.9.1b for Minecraft 1.7.10
Configs older than 1.9.1 will be cleared, be sure to back them up!
Bug Fix: The Demon Mobs have come back from their holiday! Well, actually,t here was a big bug, negative dimension IDs were being ignored and with the Nether being ID -1 it meant that no Demon Mobs would spawn there... Oops, fixed now though!
Bug Fix: I forgot to add the Raiko Beastiary Icon, it's added now!
Bug Fix: Pure Lava will now destroy items instead of having them bounce around!
Failsafe: I had some crash reports regarding a dimension ID check, null checks have now been added that might stop these crashes, I'm still not to sure what's caused it though, it seems to be related to using Just Another Spawner I think.
Tweak: Scorchfire is now finally balanced, it spreads pretty much the same as regular fire now.
So basically it will be the last update before the jump to 1.8?

Also,I have done some research, and have a suggestion... you need to make an update that helps the reputations of some of your mobs. I've calculated the mobs that get the least attention, and most are very ancient, but some are as new as the Arix. (Because Afrits are that much hotter. [Pun intended])
So, here is the list:
Those are all the mobs that get the least attention. MAYBE you can make them better by making the first structure for the mod, that contain these mobs as the spawners. Anyways, they need more attention. Especially those 2 spiders, I keep forgetting they exist.
