I really love these shaders, since I can run them (Extreme with Volumetric Lighting) just fine without any stuttering and they look absolutely stunning. There's only one thing I'd like to ask for though: Being able to adjust Parallax Occlusion Mapping (POM) strength differently. Right now I can switch the strength to 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0, though I'd like to be able to set that to 0.#-values so that it's not looking overkill, like it does with some resource-packs.
I was actually reworking my bump and pom code yesterday, so that will be in the next update.
You might need to enable mipmapping. I was getting the missing texture on blocks like cobblestone and dirt until I enabled mipmapping.
This info might be just what I need, except that I have no clue where to find it, to enable it? I might sound stupid, I swear I am not...;)
I am using Chroma Hills resource pack, and I know normal map works fine.
According to my delicious pumpkin and amazing row of cobblestone slabs, Sildur Vibrant shaders 1.18 refuse to show me normal maps.
SEUS Renewed on the other hand, in spite of not having being updated for 1.13+ just yet, (look at the water for instance) shows me normal map just fine.
I'd be happy to switch to Sildur shaders if only I could work out the normal! Everything else looks so..vibrant!
That's great to hear! I've noticed one more thing though and I don't know if you're working on that as well or if I'm too stupid to find it in the options: Specular-map support. But at this point that's such a small thing that I don't really notice it anyways.
Specular mapping is tricky because it usually requires a buffer to write to, in vibrant shaders all available buffers are already in use, so that's not really working out.
This info might be just what I need, except that I have no clue where to find it, to enable it? I might sound stupid, I swear I am not...;)

Bumpmapping is tied to parallax mapping in the current vibrant shaders, so you will have to enable that in the ingame shader options.
Love the idea of the default enhanced, and for the most part they are great. I did find a few things that caught my eye.
The horizont has a weird line.
The water has an "impossible" reflection of the beach.
And trees leave shadows in the water where they shouldn't be (this seems to be a thing in many shaders, might be a minecraft thing, idk)
If I'm doing something wrong, pls help.
Make sure you're on the latest version of enhanced default, v1.06. And check if your sky is enabled in video settings - details.
Changing the ingame option for reflections from fast to fancy fixes that beach reflection issue at the cost of performance. It makes the raytracing more accurate. Which might also prevent those ghosting issue with the leaves. That's caused by screen spaced reflections, happens in many shaders and also in many games that use screen spaced reflections.
Thanks for the tips, I messed around with some settings and now it's pretty much perfect
I noticed that the game is very dark at night, (which I personally love) but I don't know if it's possible to edit the brightness under water. ATM during night time, going under water is quite a bright experience. Just a suggestion, again, I don't even know if that's something that can be changed with shaders or if it's simply and is up to mojang.
Night time shouldn't be much darker then default mc, you can also adjust the brightness using the ingame brightness slider. But I do agree that it gets very dark during night time + raining, so will check.
About darkness, I was wondering if it is possible to change how dark it is inside, in my game? I can no longer relay on my own eyes for torch placement! lol It always look like I am below level 7. I end up using way too many light source. Block can be level 11, it still *look* unsafe.
I followed the link to the download site and it said I had to disable my ad blocker. I did and was immediately hit with an invasive pop up that required me going through my task manager to disable.
It looks like AdF.ly's ads have become more malicious. I'm sure most of us are not dumb enough to fall for them, but I do miss the friendlier/harmless ads it had back then. Is there a better alternative, tho?
- Added ingame option Water texture to the reflections screen, allows you to turn off the water texture, so it will just be color.
- Added new ingame options screen Normal map, contains the changes below:
- Added support for parallax mapping (only blocks for now)
- Replaced option bumpmapping with RP support, toggles between off/bumpmapping/parallax
- Added ingame option RP Resolution, set it to your resourcepack resolution or higher to make pom smoother.
- Added ingame option POM Depth, adjust to your liking.
- Added ingame option POM Distance, adjust the distance at which parallax mapping renders.
- Fixed composite error when turning off reflections while keeping godrays enabled.
Is there any other way to support Sildur's and download the shaders without going through the AdFly barrage of spyware ads? I'm happy to chip in some $$ but that download link trips every security and privacy filter I have on my computer.
for example it will literally not proceed unless I allow "notifications" from whatever this URL is.

Sent you a PM. Although you should still be able to skip ads without accepting notifications, you can even skip them with an adblocker enabled.
Having striped shadow issues when trying this on Enigmatica 2 skyblock.
Vibrant Shaders High v1.18 and Enchanced Default
Minecraft 1.12.2
OptiFine_1.12.2_HD_U_E2/E1/D3/D1
Nvidia 1080ti 416.64
Regardless of shadow quality the lines appear, albeit they are just smaller/more common at higher quality.
Other shaders i've tested (SUES renewed and Continuum 2.0) dont have this issue.
Here's a video showcasing it, turning off shadows removes the problem, and all the shadows obviously. But Quality of shadows only changes the amount of lines there are.
I guess one of the mods is messing with the shadersmod causing this issue, we stretch/adjust the shadowmap and there are different ways todo so. SEUS/Continuum probably uses a different way which is why it's working on that pack.
