Did you ever think about using a Vanilla Hopper, I think its what I was using last time I used this mod, stick it under the machine and let it run.
Yeah, I use that now. Along with Hopper Ducts from the Hopper Duct mod, I now have a fully automated matter compressor, complete with Buildcraft pipes continually pumping in Gany's Surface poop. Yep, chicken poop turned into coal, for infinite coal, and thanks to the compressor from ic2, infinite coal balls. If I can find a mod way to make infinite obsidian, then I will have infinite industrial diamonds. Perfect way to make diamond beacons. Woo!

I just took the Minecraft Noob test! Check out what I scored. Think you can beat me?!
you could use the lava furnace from ganys mods and the breaker of his and then a floodgate from railcraft (or maybe buildcraft) to place a lava block and a water source then use the breaker to break the obsidian

Cool, try making a compact and efficient setup, then post a screenshot so I can use it.

haha sure ill design it for you check spoilers lol.
this one is made using a floodgate from buildcraft, volcanic furnace from ganys nether, fluid pipes of some sort (ive used extra utilities in this picture, you can use whatever), hoppers, chests and a block breaker and block detector from openblock
the block detector sends out a redstone signal when an obsidian block is placed infront of it with the breaker receiving the signal and breaking the obsidian dumping it into an attached chest (it cant dump straight into pipes)
the next set up (which is smaller and more cost efficient (and alot more simple))
this one uses a sensitive dislocator and volcanic furnace from ganys nether as well as the floodgate from buildcraft as well as pipes, a hopper and a chest
the good thing with this set up is the obsidian can be pumped straight out of the dislocator
obviously the more volcanic furnaces you have hooked up to the floodgate the faster it will receive enough lava to place a source block of it. the water source can be placed right beside the lava and wont cause any problems. i find the biggest problem with the floodgate is that unless the sides are covered up by something the floodgate will occasionally place the lava block out of one of its sides or out the top. this will not be to big a problem if multiple furnaces are hooked up to it

Alrighty, here's my setup, similar to that less expensive setup, except using buildcraft pipes instead of itemducts and fluiducts. Works pretty darn well. Note the chicken cooker in the back of it, which will someday start producing mass amounts of feathers, and each feather produces about 16 mb of lava. So, it'll be slow, but worth it once I get maximum feather production.
Edit: Now I have obsidian transport pipes to vacuum up the poop my cows and sheep produce, and with a diamond transport pipe, I'm sorting all the poop and eggs into the volcanic furnace. Leads to massive lava production once everything is running full tilt. Already within a few minutes got 3 obsidian. It's not the most efficient, but it works.
If you have the mod "random things" use the advanced item collector as its far more cost efficient and has a larger collection radius. Theres a small mod that adds the ability for chickens to occasionally drop feathers. I just cant remember what one (possibly the mod "improving minecraft") i also suggest the tiny mod "pig manure" it makes pigs drop manure (almost identical to ganys poop) these can then be feed into the matter compressor or volcanic furnace. If you havent already i suggest setting up a couple ink harvesters of ganys as well. Only if you can afford to feed the stupid squids lol
I actually prefer using pipes from extra utilities as they are less lag intensive and can be easily dressed to look industrialised. They just cost a little extra but once you factor in the cost of making gates they are on par with buildcrafts costs. The only thing buildcraft has over them really is the ability to color pipes to stop them connecting to eachother or adding plugs. Extra utilities just doesnt have that sadly

I have a problem where I build a normal crafting table, use it once and the next time I use it, I crash to the 1st screen in minecraft. This is in the Jurassic Worlds:Revelation modpack. I asked PCHard about it and gave him the crash log and he says Gany's Surface is throwing an exception causing the crashing. Could you look into it please? It only does it in single player. Thanks for any help!

I think this can be caused by a setting in the ganyssurface.cfg config file. It may be fixed if you change this:
"Enable No Recipe Conflict for Crafting Tables"=true
to this:
"Enable No Recipe Conflict for Crafting Tables"=false
It uses any planks. Put 9 of one item into the grid and the planks into the seperate single grid. The block has to be at bedrock (or there abouts) to work

Huh, actually managed to make it work at the surface once. Dunno how I did it.

Planks being put into an auto encaser should go into the slot in the top right where you have to put planks before they start to go into the 3x3 grid.
As is, you have to set up complex redstone systems which wait for the hopper which inputs the items to refill and dispenses a single plank into another hopper when that happens in order to avoid overflowing the auto encaser and encasing wood.
Alternatively, set up a system to automatically uncase wood and pipe it back, or use pipes from some other mod to simply make the other items enter the machine faster.
•Fact: The more users pester people who make mods to update their mods to a new version of minecraft, the less likely it is that it will be quickly updated.
•Fact: The more you comment about it, the more likely you are to be ignored.
•Fact: The more recent the last post about updating a mod is, the more annoying yours will be.
•Fact: Using all caps does not reverse any of the above effects.

I'm still wondering how to make the auto encaser work. What kind of planks does it take?

how do i stop the auto encaser from filling up the 9 slots with planks?
This is what you are looking for:
B:"Enable 1.8 Stones"=true

According to line 4, your crash is because you have too many mods and not enough memory.
Just add
to your Java arguments in your launcher. It might fix the issue.
When you post a mod: "No pics no clicks" and "MCreator = bad ~99% of the time"
Don't forget to read the crashlog before reporting the crash. It might tell you why it's crashing.
