why not make it so you can watch twitch tv channels on a TV in game.
this is very possible if you use xuggle libraries.
That would be super awesome. The best would be to have a picture in picture borderless window within the minecraft window while ingame, to watch another twitch channel while playing ! I know I'm dreaming.
is there a way you could save the password a bit more encrypted? other then just in a .txt file.
Edit: i mean if you open the file with notepad++ you can just see the username and pass.
Since the password used for IRC isn't your actual Twitch password and the IRC oauth pass can be reset easily enough (just revisit http://twitchapps.com/tmi/ again to get a new one), I don't see it to be a real issue.

Or you can use TrueCrypt.
By creating a TrueCrypt Folder a.k.a. a encrypted container, the text file would not be able to open without a password.
noone can read it unless they input a password within the container to open it.
Just create a 10-mb container and then place the file within the container.
but one thing that is daunting me right now, that I just realized is,
that if minecraft would read it once you place the password when trying to open it.
just FYI.
Hello I was just wondering if there was a way to view an 1 or more IRC chat stream that shows up on in the Minecraft window for 1.7.2.
The reason I'm asking is with the latest snapshot Minecraft does twitch broadcasting this is great but a bunch of people I know want to do some live streaming together and it would be nice if we could see the chats from the all the live streams at one time.
Anyway thanks for looking at this post and if a mod like this exists please post.
Thanks
and I then I located your post. I was just wonder if your going to release an updated version of your mod for for 1.7.2 because it does seem to do what I have requested.
This looks awesome and I would love to use it, but....when I install it to my Resonant Rise pack for the ATlauncher it loads fine, then when I get into my game and press "t" to talk the game just crashes to desktop, no error message or anything. Can you please help me I would love to use this, because it seems ForgeIRC will not let me connect to my twitch either.
EDIT: So I fixed the problem, after hours and hours I finally found out that TabbyChat was causing the crash..no I didn't get an error, it was just a lot of trial and error. So if anyone has this issue while using the Resonant Rise pack this is the fix. Hope this was helpful and saves you some headaches and hours.
Thank you for this mod. I had some issues getting it to work though. I would type in all my information properly, copy+paste the password from the site, and it would immediately tell me "disconnected". I figured out that if I changed the tab type to "only send messages", it worked! Not sure why that happens, but hey.
Lovin' this mod. I can't run Twitch in the background or my computer will freeze, so it's a lifesaver.
TLDR: TwitchTV IRC Mod is going to be a bigger mod not just chat in the future and I need a break for a few weeks from coding to relax.
I am sadly happy to announce that TwitchTV IRC Mod Reborn is no longer being made as of today.
The reason I am happy is that I am turning the mod into something much bigger. The mod will be only 1.7.4 up and sadly due to the core features of the mod are only in that version of Minecraft. The mod will transform the default twitch chat in 1.7.4 into something that you can customise more. The mod will also include some features that should have been in the default twitch like adding text and images to the screen! I have a couple other ideas but I will see if I can pull those off.
Two other reasons I am discontinued is due the fact I did not like the way the mod was starting to turn out like the nasty oauth key password imput. I also currently need a break from coding for a couple weeks because I have worn myself out due to me working on a couple other mods and working on bukkit plugins. Hopefully by the time I come back to coding MCP/Forge will be up to date to 1.7.4 and better then it currently is.
Try updating and seeing if that fixes it

I managed to get it working as can be seen here: . Yeah, the OAuth thing is an issue but it's nothing after you get it working.
