Ok, so ModLoader modifies the JAR file so other mods don't have to?
Magic Launcher loads mods without modifying the JAR at all?
ModLoader = older way
Magic Launcher = newer, more preferred way?
ModLoader is useful for loading mods that don't need to mod the jar, but it cant load mods that do need to. MagicLauncher can only load mods that need to go into the jar unless ModLoader is installed, which is why they are so nice together.
BTW - don't suppose you could write one of these Deforestation things for grass could you?
I've got fields of grass I want to clear out so I can plant farms or what not, and I have to just go along breaking each one down to collect the seeds and clear things out.
Sure would be nice if I could just bash one and have that cascading radius thing do a bunch of the work for me.
Hey acomputerdog, this guy did a Mod install and review video about this mod. I will link it here ---->
I like it
Thank you for linking that! It's probably one of the best reviews I've seen for any of my mods. I am going to ask the reviewer if I can add it to the OP!

Cool. Makes good sense. Use Magic Launcher, load ModLoader as the first item and just throw the mods in there and they just flat out work. Nice. All the bases (except Forge) are covered.
When you get the vine breaking thing working and maybe the grass thing working, this thing could be even more epic than it already is.

Your welcome! I am actually almost done with the forge version! I have the mod working, and now I am just in the process of adding some of the new features!
Glad I could help! I saw you added it, but you put it under two spoilers. If you want people to watch it, you should remove those
Well on my other mod I had way too many of them to reasonable store any other way, but for now I guess I will remove them. Its not too hard to add them in later.
Forge version and update [F] released!
I just finished uploading versions 1.6.2[F][Vanilla] and 1.6.2[F][Forge]! This update's changelog:
Forge version! Just drag the .zip to your mods folder and you are done! ModLoader version is coming!
Added ability to customize all keybindings! The break-disable and break-boost keys now have entries in the config. Change the value to whatever new key you want, just be sure to use caps. On restart the value will change to a number, but that number is the key-code of the key selected. Currently numbers are unavailable, but that will be fixed soon!
Added option to have every block broken damage the held axe! There is an option in the config.
ModLoader is useful for loading mods that don't need to mod the jar, but it cant load mods that do need to. MagicLauncher can only load mods that need to go into the jar unless ModLoader is installed, which is why they are so nice together.
Eh?
Try to load Cheating Essentials with ModLoader. It works well.

Magic Launcher just makes trying to get Mod Loader up and running easier for me. I got it working every time with the stock Minecraft up until 1.6.x, but now I can't get it working. But by using Magic Launcher, I just load Mod Loader as the first entry in the list, and it somehow makes it all work with the mods that come after it. It's a breeze. I don't wanna go back to vanilla again if I can help it. Magic Launcher is cool beans.

I know man! I must have bad Karma because of my annoying personality.:)
I used to spend hours each upgrade of Minecraft getting all the mods to work. I'd try to do Mod Loader first, then Timber Mod, then Zombe Modpack, then MC Patcher, then More Village Biomes and finally REI's Mini Map. Then I'd go between Ovo's Rustic Redemption and Sphax PureBD Craft 256x version for my texture packs.
Sometimes that order would work when the thing upgraded, sometimes it would not. Between 1.8.1 Beta and the final of 1.4.x, it was a total pain. I FINALLY got it all working for 1.4.6 and just held there until 1.6.x came out. Then things went nutty.
So now using Magic Launcher, Mod Loader and LumberJack, I'm good to go. I can't get MC Patcher to work right with the new resource packs in 1.6.x (some font issues) so I had to switch to Optifine. But that works fine with Magic Launcher, and when I want to toggle between versions of Optifine for testing (B1, B2, B3, B4 and back to B3 since B4 is buggy on fongs) it's bone stock easy.
If I never see the inside of a JAR again, that won't be a bad thing.
Without these forums, regardless, I'd be screwed. I'm grateful for ALL the help I get here.
My only post mentioning your mod is in reply to Kirklander on my own thread because I don't like it when people post in my thread telling people to use other mods.
That was my fault, and I'm really sorry about that. I feel bad for the way I handled the whole thing. I hope you accept my sincere apologies.
My posts about your mod have mainly been "stop talking about it in the Timber mod thread" and me expressing frustration at Magic Launcher. Also, I have not PM'd you accusing you of stealing my mod. I have posted about how it's extremely coincidental that you'd PM me about me giving you the code to continue Timber and then you making a very similar mod, though. If you're trying to make me look bad to get people to use your mod instead, try harder. If you're trying to get me to stop updating Timber, congratulations, because now I'm officially out. this community.
Seriusly? This it's weird.
Please, don't complain about the community, most of us are normal and like be friendly
And I have a suggestion for you (Should be ignored but..) you can make your mod Open Source. You should be sure that nobody will steal your code.
And, for last, please don't stop to update Timber. It's a lot better that most mods due to it's compatible with everything
When it was stated that Timber Mod would not be updated beyond 1.5.2, I think that's when things got confusing. I'm not sure if anyone would have thought about making a possible replacement if they knew Timber Mod was going to continue to be developed.
I don't think it's fair to rip the whole Minecraft community because idiots like me make stupid mistakes. The community, for the most part, seems pretty great and helpful. A lot of good people work hard to create good stuff and help others. A few bad apples like me should not spoil things for the rest of the bunch.
No, this community is worse than League of Legends. That's saying something. I don't suddenly hate Minecraft, I have for the past year and a half, so don't blame yourself. My only mistake was staying here longer. At least this gives me an excuse to disappear.
This isn't the thread to discuss this, just like how the Timber thread isn't the thread to discuss this mod, so I apologize. But regardless, you win, I really don't want to continue being part of this toxic community.
I don't see how it's fair to say that "you win" to me given that I have never wanted you to stop developing anything. I have used TimberMod religiously for a long time, and was genuinely bummed when you first said you would not update your mod beyond 1.5.2.
Why would you think it would be a win for me, or for anybody, that you have decided to step away from the community and cease development of your mods?
That's certainly not an outcome that I or probably anybody else who's a fan of your work would ever want.

edit: Dammit I edit this post like 5 seconds after I post it and people quote that version. Meh, still my opinion that this community sucks.
I am not trying to get people to use my mod instead of yours. I never advertised mine, and I never wanted it to steal your users. This mod was created originally because one user (and me, but that was not as important) wanted to use magic launcher, and I wanted to use Timber on LAN games. I understand the coincidence, but I never looked at your code and I was not going to unless you said yes. I figured that if you wanted to drop the mod and keep the source, then I would respect that and write a ground-up version. Earlier in the day you said you were continuing Timber is when I started this mod, and by that point I wanted to finish. At the urging of the user of this mod, I released it. I am really sorry that my mod was advertised in your thread. I had no idea that was happening. Please don't stop working on Timber over this!

edit: the you in second paragraph = OP, acomputerdog
Why do you way I win? I'm not trying to compete with you. If you wanted to leave that bad, why did you not accept one of the 19 offers to update your mod?

Exactly. I had been using Timber since at least when 1.1.0, because I also used PlasticCraft and HiddenDoors. I was sad when he dropped the other two, but not terribly since I don't really use content mods. But when he wanted to drop Timber I was actually pretty mad, because it really is a good mod. It was one of the ones I waited for to update for a while.
