That's 2% a rune, not 20%. The rest of the math is correct, though.
As for the draining, you can just set add up a Well of Suffering and design something to keep the altar topped off as much as possible. Slot in another Rune of the Orb to keep the Well going and you'll be golden. Not literally though, you're not king Midas.

I would set up a Well of Suffering but on the server I'm on, it isn't working for some reason. I have it activated and everything but it won't hurt my mobs.
There are config options to disable rituals, so server mods may have disabled it for whatever reason. Might be you'll have to rely more on self-sacrifice or manual sacrifice.
I'm playing on FTB Infinity and I got a Demon Grunt Guardian Mob Soul and it doesn't give me the life shards or soul shards. It only gives me a glitched demon shard

Having odd results, starting with the basic plains getting some random biomes after the ritual, everything from bog to ocean, and then the matching biome of forest. I am using the NEI Biome dump to list the values for each biome.
Is it possible to use the ritual to make BoP or Twilight Forest Biomes like the Cherry Blossom Grove?
They are used in the ritual "Symmetry of the Omega", and aid in the construction of the Omega chamber. Look into this ritual, and Project:Omega for more information.

A note for that ritual: It will always use the first match it finds. That might be what is messing you up, and may render it near impossible to get cherry Blossom grove. This ritual was designed more for "I need any biome of X Temperature and Humidity" and less for exact biomes. Bee breeding and the like was the intended use.

One of the first rituals most people make when they reach T3, the ritual of binding gives access to bound tools and weapons.
Powerful late game ritual, allows creative style flight in a horizontal area around it and almost unlimited vertical range.
Ritual: Before use.
Ritual, after use. As you can tell, it calls down a meteor from space. Source of various resources late game.
This is what a blood alter, something you make and steadily upgrade throughout use of this mod, can look like once you have reached T6, the final tier.
Two different ways to build the same spell. This system is done in world, and can change dynamically as the construct is altered. The best part is that this spell shown has only two effect(But both of them are completely upgraded), and far more can be added to the spell to apply even more effects to use.
These are images from The demon invasion, an event started by players on a server who want to become as powerful as possible, and are willing to unleash an army of demons to do so. Only the ritual stones in this image are player placed, everything else is generated by the portal, and the army of demon grunts(Yes, grunts. Dime a dozen foot soldiers. Argo one of them, and the entire invasion comes after you.) is summoned by the portal. It upgrades and expands on it's own over time. Stronger demons will be added in later versions, for now we only have the grunts and guards spawning.
Fuse yourself with the soul of a demon for power? Why not, and what you see is only part of the result. Delve into Omega, become incredibly powerful... As to fight off the demons you unleashed, you must transcend humanity.
I wish every demon grunt would aggro on you when you poke them. As it is, it almost feels like their range is even lower than pigmen. And they often shoot each other and start getting distracted.
Also, I can't even remember when my test invasion was that small. =p

Tried to play this mod again today. I want to play with the invasions, but my stupid computer won't allow me to play anything past the 1.1's. Not your problem, but I just want to say keep up the good work, and I'll catch up eventually (hopefully very soon).
I have suggestion about bound armour and armour in general in blood magic;
I think it would be nice to have some intermediate armour before bound armour
The creation of different grades of armour is centered around the different levels of slates
A different skin for bound armour (toggle-able between default in configs) based on the idea of overlapping slates and gladiator amour, just search google images for gladiator armour, with a more samurai type helmet.
With better sets of armour the amount of coverage of the "slates" would increase from the concept pics.
Animations like blood droplets "falling" upwards- the higher the level of armour the more prominent this animation would be.
Bound armour's texture has occasional rippling effects- red like blood- like the surface of the armour is blood.
And lastly a symbiotic relationship between bound armour and the player;
putting the armour on and off requires a ritual per piece as the armour "binds/latches" to the player
initially the player loses two hearts per piece put on and a large amount of LP from their blood network
the armour requires a constant source of LP (more at the start as it "settles" in)
at certain intervals of time/LP the players hearts will be restored
at first the time it takes to regain hearts is very small (a minecraft day or two for every few hearts or so) but the LP cost is extreme (millions)
after the player's hearts is at their original level the player starts to regain addition hearts with the time frame being much longer (minecraft weeks) and the LP cost low(er) (hundreds of thousands)
some concepts to understand about this are (I have not been able to put them all int game mechanics so do with them what you will);
the player has hearts and the armour has hearts they are greater combined then as they are separately
the additional hearts a player can earn is capped in the configs
the armour is parasitic and consumes more energy than it gives and thus consumes LP (more is consumed the longer it is on with this increasing LP consumption is capped in the configs) to offset the unbalance. This LP usage is not included in the LP used in gaining/restoring hearts
as time goes on the armour rating of the armour increases but so dose the LP required to negate incoming damage. As a ratio the LP used to negate one point of damage is lower at lower armour levels than one point of damage at higher armour levels. This LP consumption is based of incoming damage and is not passive.

requiring the ritual to be preformed on "sacred" grounds where a minimum amount of people (players or villagers) have been killed
Getting to far into blood magic corrupts your soul- dying sends you to hell. To respawn you need to escape by doing a set of task challenges or just do something that you (WayofTime) finds fitting
after dying, your armour takes over your corpse and becomes a mini boss- killing it gets ALL of your stuff back

I don't quite understand how adding Reagents to rituals work. I understand the basic process(breaking down the reagents into AR and then pumping it into the MRS). What I am fuzzy on is does the ritual need a steady supply of a reagent for an effect to take place or do you just pump some in and then the effect is permanent?

As a general rule, reagent is consumed when the ritual triggers, For example, Ritual of the Crusher only needs reagent when it breaks a block. Because of this, most rituals will need a steady supply of reagent to run for extend periods of time. Automation of reagent creation is recommended.

Ok so another issue, playing on an infinity 1.5.1 server and we got an demon invasion going in a Mystcraft age. Everything seemed to be working as planned until the demon invasion reached tier 2 at which point it seemed to cease spawning any demons even though the town kept expanding. We tried initiating another demon invasion and this time no demons spawned at all. Any ideas?
Hello I have problem with Cry of the Ethereal Soul ritual. Well I place MRS under working tier 5 altar and run the ritual. Ritual is working my hp was set to 1 but altar is not gaining any LP. My network has over 5 mil LP at this moment so this is not source of the problem. It seems I am doing something wrong, I need to do something fancy to make this work or maybe ritual works other way than I thought ?
To balance the ritual the ritual places the LP into the input buffer of the altar. Therefore, you need to use dislocation runes to accelerate the process!
