Okay, so i'm slowly advancing towards a Tier 3 altar, and i'm wondering, how would I get a good source of villagers to sacrifice? The nearest village is an eternity away, sadly. The problem here is also that there's no obvious way to lure a villager near the altar, and my plans don't work well with building the altar near the nearest village.

A good way to go about this would be to build a trap somewhere near your altar that will become a villager breeder. After you do that, lure some Villager zombies in to the trap, and then hit them with a splash potion of weakness and feed them a golden apple. That will cure them, turning them back in to regular villagers. Lather, rinse, repeat a few times and you'll have a good source of LE for the altar and your Soul Network.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!
Okay. That'll be good for now. I suppose making a hostile mob spawner would be easier though.

Another good way to do that would be to get the Soul Shards Reborn mod, it's in the WIP section. I've been using it for a while now and it works flawlessly. Plus, it has a very expansive config file to adjust just about everything in the mod. Good luck.

If Minecraft were real, you'd be a zombie right now.

I started out with this idea. It works ok. Have to keep in mind, though, you gotta have pretty much everything underground lit up to make sure your spawner is working fast. Make sure it's in range to keep things spawning [and moving] while you're at the altar, but not so far that they die on falling [or break their fall with cobwebs or something].
For upgrading, I managed pretty fine with probably about 6-8 mobs ready to go, and maybe a dozen chickens or so which were easier to come by, as well as some regen potions for my own sacrificing, with an altar evenly split for sacrifice and self-.
Hey, I could be wrong but it really seems like the well of suffering does not work in the 1.01g for 1.7.2 version of blood magic. Can anyone confirm or disprove this? Thanks!

It's working for me. Time to go over common causes:
How far away is the altar?
Are you sure the ritual is complete(There are no missing ritual stones)?
Did you activate the ritual(Make sure you have enough LP(50K is needed), and the activation crystal is bound to you)
Can you give us a few screen shots in case it is none of the above?

Question not the mad-mans ways, for you may begin to see logic in his actions, then find yourself mad as well.
You may call me The Madman, as there is no name that suits me better.
I happen to make modded survival maps, if your interested see my latest: The Asylum

Right you are, it would appear that my issue was the distance the mobs were from the altar they were to be filling. Strange because I can say with some certainty the altar's killing range used to be two blocks from the altar block while now it seems to be only one. Bug? Either way, thanks for your help and your patience with my n00biness.
Hey, everyone! Thanks a lot for all of the building so far! I'll be looking at all of them today and try to run a few simulations on them. Some of the downloads, however, didn't work... (@Yula_ and @DaWeirdGuy) either because they were just images, or they linked a shortcut to a file on their computer... which I don't have!
If you wish for the building to be submitted fully, please PLEASE make sure that the download works!
Thank you, everyone!

Except changing the recipe so I don't have to get End Stone.
Use Ex Nihilo if you want End Stone. Just combine some Glowstone and a bucket of lava. Glowstone can be obtained with a sieve, made from string and wood, and lava from a crucible, which takes bonemeal and clay. Clay can be made with water and dust, bonemeal can be made by sieving dust, string can be gotten from trees. So there's not too much of a reason not to make End Stone.

Does the lava crystal work on other machines than furnaces? I tested with Metallurgy 4 Crusher and Alloyer with no luck.
Factorization's Slag Furnace does not work either, but this mod has its own Furnace Heater.
Hey Way!,
@DaWeirdGuy's friend here. Here's our messege, but this time with the world download: For the new Demon Invasion project, we built it in a 7x7 because we thought it had to be that way:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/goj3sidxk6x3q6c/Blood%20Magic%20Build.rar Also, we've (I say we, it's actually just the fruit of my boredom while two of my friends built the bottom of the tower) had an idea for these post-apocalyptic trees that might be used as pieces of decoration for the incantation :-3
I am having a problem with the nether. It is replacing a lot of the blocks in the nether with a unstable spell empowerer. Any suggestions?
Are you running 1.7x or 1.6.4? If 1.7x, are you playing with Natura? If you are, its on Natura's end. You need to go into the config file and disable the Nether Override feature until they fix that issue. Someone ended up with an entire Nether covered in cakes... uneatable, unbreakable... cakes.

I've been using a few in different machines, and anything that can do anything with 200 fuel units, so 1 smelted item in a vanilla cobblestone furnace, worked. Well, aside from the RailCraft boilers, but they would cost me a state and a leg to heat up like that anyway. And no, that wasn't a mistake.

Also, what's this building submission thing?Edit: Nevermind, I watched the video.
You must first learn the rules before you break them.
