you have to get really derpy with the pipes from what i can tell, try making pipe systems that are a loop instead of point to point, just a guess as i've not found the gases useful enough to bother figuring out entirely though.

Hi there. Could I use this mod in a small semi-private modpack I'm planning to use in a video series? It's a sort of steampunky affair, meant to be played in Hardcore Mode with a large number of friends. People will have to work together closely to survive in a world they don't understand—and to ensure it's a world they don't understand, I've been gathering some of the best less-known mods from around the forums. The new mechanics of your mod, in particular, are sure to throw my players for a hell of a loop.
igflg: be sure to play with this mod a bit before committing to it. some aspects seem to be a bit tricky to work with.
I mainly use the pipe systems to help clear out gas from areas. like the electric gas that is RIGHT outside my nether portal...
I was also able to make a minetweaker script to change the recipe to 3 vertical iron ingots to stop the issue I was having. If anyone is having a simular issue let me know, I can provide the file for anyone who wants it, or even just the script text itself.

hey did u made a way to reduce gas quantity generation on the world? back on 1.7.2 version there was just to much gas on the world... to much lag..
really a shame this mod's piping system and gas + torch interactions are so broken beyond belief.
that's nitro gas happily sitting on top of a torch, no explosions, i've also had identical results with 4 gases on each horizontal side of a torch, so BUG REPORT!
also the gas furnace in the same picture refuses to accept any of the nitro from the tank, i know for a fact there's nitro in the pipe on the furnace too by breaking it and observing nitro gas spilling out.
because of that i can only guess that there should be gas being accepted by the furnace but isn't for some reason, i couldn't tell you to be honest though because of the lack of useful documentation on the piping system and how to make it do anything at all, some youtube videos from years ago lead me to believe i might need a pump on top of a collector to harvest gas, but frankly a collector alone connected to a gas tank seems to be the only way it does anything.
as i said above it's impossible to tell though without proper documentation and examples, i've also found a complete and total lack of youtube tutorials as well, saw the two linked in the OP, neither are helpful, they only show the gases, explain none of the piping (if they even mention it) and none of the machines/blocks.
furthermore the piping documentation that is on your wiki makes no sense at all either, it only adds to the confusion, are you saying i have to design so air moves through the pipes along with the gases? the whole talk about in two block increments made absolutely no sense whatsoever.

On the furnace you use Natural Gas or Red Gas... both Combustable... guess witch one is more efficient? red - cause its explosive, more combustible than Natural thats only flamable... pretty obvious too... but yeah i tried the other gases to see if they work, they dont, also keep in mind if you pump lime chlorine first, the furnace will not accept it and the gas will be STUCK on the pipe, so if you put red gas now the furnace wont work... thats prob what you did.. its a honest mistake, but you prb said 'bah its broked' - but its not man, actually this mod is VERY good, both coding and logic, this mod have problems? sure all mods have... it have 2 depencies, its not very stable with some other mods (actually this last version is very stable with most of the Top mods, except Biomes o Plenty, but no surprises there, BoP is a very conflicted mod too...
Question: Is it, or will it be possible to add ores to the list that contain gasses?
I am using Gregtech for 1.7.10 that add small and custom ores for coal and such. It would be great if those ores had gasses in them too.
your modpack is big? GT 1.7.10 is causing major memory sucking - takes 5 minutes to only ENTER the game and after that no world will be generated with my modpack... i was wondering this, could you tell the aprox size (in Mb) of your hole modpack? also if possible could you guide me in some way to make GT more stable, consume less memory and also there is a way to remove all recipes changes it makes on OTHER people mods? i would love that lol - i love GT - i made some nice stuff with that, check this out man, i think you gonna like:

I think it would be a good idea if you were to make the steam from your mod compatable with other steam-using mods such as Flaxbeards Steam Power, Railcraft or Thermal Expansion.
There seems to be a bug where the gases do not explode when coming in contact with the stone torches from Tinkers Construct.
tinkers torches are actually missing the part that makes the gases consider them "on fire", i think it's by intention.
if it feels cheaty just disable them from being made.
and... well.. unfortunate as it is and sad as i am to lose this mod, i finally found the culprit that was turning my 210 mods instance playing into a varitable slideshow, i'm just gonna assume that any large scale mining with this gas mod installed will create significant lag as removing it made the difference between playable and non.

Is there a way to enable gas pockets to flow continuously? My idea is, instead of capturing isolated pockets being able to set up production wells like one would do for real world natural gas extraction. That way you can pipe it along to your base and set up a more permanent facility for smelting and capturing. Awesome mod! So much fun! Love the new opportunities.

Gleen what do you think about creating some way to disable the gases from ores by default and enable a specific tool to extract the gases? Sometimes the gases can be a little annoying...

Sad to see the passing of the torch, but glad to see someone keeping interest in the mod. This mod and buildcraft (For the oil), are literally my two favourite mods. This one in particular adds so much flavour to the game. I just want it to be updated for 1.8 forge. You asked for our words. So I am giving them. It's an excellent mod and I hope to see it updated. No real suggestions other than updating since it's pretty much perfect as it is.
