Here is a young man, struggling to pay for school, works hard to build this Mod, goes to college and still finds time for all of us.... what a shame, that all you guys can't kick in a few lousy dollars to help a brother out. Well as it would turn out because it seems no one knows, Elo seems to be gearing up to move her mod to her own engine, so PR is going to wind up being a true successor.
Now all the "which is better" arguments can be shelved.

Eloraam has been waving that carrot around for 2 years. She comes and then she goes. I've followed her for a long time, and most of her tweets go something like this...
"wanted to do some coding... had to work late"
"Sorry guys, boss said I had to work the weekend"
"Was thinking about coding but I've been sick.."
"How can I retain all my rights and still make/keep Redpower?"

"Coder's Block... omg"
"Had to work all week, no time for modding.. sorry Patrons"
"SYKE! I've not been working on Redpower at all... I'm working on my own engine..."
"My new engine is actually my old engine from Minia(?) a game I was working on 2 years ago.... that too was shelved."
"Hey nothing new here... just wanted to make sure ya all knew I wasn't dead"
"I'm stil alive... been busy at work again... no time to code...
"I know its been 5 months since I started making promises and taking your donations, but I just don't have ANYTHING to show you at this time..."
"blah blah blah... Redpower is the original...."
She(he?) must think we are stupid... she's an electrical engineer. Mr TJP goes to college, comes home to study, and still finds time to code Project Red. Eloraam only had to simply UPDATE her existing Mod... Just port that damn thing... but she just couldn't find the time. BULL! She walked away. Don't pee in my coffee and tell me its Taster's Choice! She had all the time in the world (2 years) to port Red Power - but she didn't. Then she comes back 2 years later making promises, and then pulls the rug out from even that saying, "oh by the way, I'm making my own engine.. NO RED POWER FOR YOU Minecraft Community... but hey, thanks for all the fish!"

Patreon is NOT donations. It is a crowd funding project for "DEVELOPMENT" of content. There is a DIFFERENCE between donations, and crowd funding development. Project Red delivers updates and also stays engaged with their users here in the forums, and addresses issues from crash reports. WHEN THE HELL has Eloraam EVER done that? NOT IN OVER 2 years!!
People were already doubting Eloraam because she flakes out, disappears and leaves the community HIGH AND DRY without turning her code over to open source. Red Power 2 was a pretty important Mod to many. Thats why there are 3 different versions competing to replace it. Blue Power, Red Logic, and Project Red. ALL copy cat versions... but out of ALL of them, Project Red is the most stable and well thought out and updated regularly.
Hey, I wanted Elo to come back this time and I was in her corner, at first. But, with this BS of hers in building her own engine and delaying/re-niging on her commitment to bring Red Power to 1.7.10 (sic) - It is clear she has her own agenda and right now, it is not clear whether Red Power will be on MC ever again. THANK GOD for Project Red...
And you know what... Project Red is way ahead of Red Power in Many ways. Sure, there are some things we'd like to see improved *cough* "Fix Cage Lamp Art Work" *cough* *cough* "add machines" *cough* *cough* "Blue-tricity* "Pneumatic Tubes, Filters and Transposer..." *cough* *cough*...
Sorry about that - something caught in my throat.
Bet on a winner and someone that is consistent... Support Mr. TJP on Patreon, and lets right a wrong and show some love. He's earned it.
Is there any news regarding the compatibility between bundled cables and Computercraft computers?
Yes. Support for computercraft was added in version 4.4.7.46, and a crash was fixed in version 4.5.0.50. You can find out more and download on the downloads page
Due to popular demand, I guess I will have to move on to the machines and tubes now.. so at this point, I'm thinking tubes first, then the breaker and deployer machines, then anything else that I have missed. heres the possible options for the tubes.
a ) these pressure based closest-path-first tubes can either form their own completely independent networks, or be able to connect to the router pipes and work through them without invoking or interfering with any routing logic or functions. (Basically if an item is being sent via pressure, routers will ignore it And vice versa)
b ) routing devices such as the transposer, filter, etc can either be full blocks like it was in RP or inline with the pipes. Using FMP they can be placed overtop of the pipes and allow functionality that way.
keep in in mind that they won't be called the same thing, I just used the old RP2 names as a reference.
Down below, you will see a redesigned cage lamp next to a renamed version of the old cage lamp...
NOW THATS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!
Keep this up TJP and you will see your Patreon grow. For sure! This is innovative and changes the game.
Thank you for fixing the the "crab cage light" lol ... that was so annoying and didn't look like it belonged on any machine or above any door. Its much better.
This the cage lamp from RP2.
Here is a typical cage lamp in an industrial setting:
Here is a wall mount version:
I like the design you have come up with for the cage lamp 2.0! - it might still need a little tweaking to look like a proper cage lamp - maybe a tad thinner black brackets (just a tad!) The new-look looks cool! Take a look at the examples above. You should see more lamp than black. Also I think if you want to be different than Redpower 2, you should offer the option to craft the cage lamps with different color cages. Also offer a Wall mount version in craftable colors. If you REALLY want to go for style points, make the wall mount version be able to turn in directions with a screw driver. Meaning, if I don't want the lamp pointing down, and I want it to point up, I use a wrench or a screw driver to turn rotate it to a 90, 180, 240 or 360 degree position. That would be the shiz! I can imagine a WHOLE NEW scheme of designing with this! Or what about using either version WITHOUT the cage on them at all? That would be cool too!
Wouldn't it be nice to craft a Cage Lamp or a Fixture Lamp with, say, red lamp and a white or yellow cage/base ? This would set Project Red apart from RedPower, Red Logic and BluePower.
Remember, they're cage lamps and Lamp fixtures. They should not be a full block size! They need to be proportional. The cage lamp should be smaller and the Lamp Fixture too. Eloraam did get this right. Bluepower did a nice job recreating these too when it comes to proportion size. The size should not overwhelm or dwarf the block/machine/device I'm placing these 2 types of lamps on.
Watch also for NAME consistency. We already have Lamps, Fixtures, and now Lights? It would be nice if we could type in "lamp" or "light" and all the lighting/lamp options opened in NEI. So I suggest sticking with either "Lamp" or "Light" across the board, for example "Lamp Blocks, Lamp Fixtures, Fallout Lamp", etc.
Another thing... functionality:
If you look in 1.4.7 with Redpower 2, you'll notice that the cage lamp works with a hollow micro block. Meaning, I can take a piece of Framed Redstone Wire, put it to one side of the hollow Micro Block cover, and the Cage or Fixture lamp to the other side and it receives the signal through it.. This is huge and make designing so much nicer.
Additionally, the cage lamp and Fixture lamp's coding needs fixed so they can be attached directly to things like the IC2 MFSU, etc. Currently they can not be. RP2 allowed you to attach them directly to MFSU's and the end of a piece of Redstone Framed Wire, etc. Your cage and fixture lamps can't. Try putting a cage lamp or a Fixture lamp on the side of an MFSU from IC2 in 1.7.10... you can't do it. This really needs fixed. The MFSU and other blocks from IC2 and Gregtech, etc, all put out redstone signals and many people like me like to put lights on them to notify us visually when things are happening. Like Wires, Lamps should attached directly too.
Thank you so much for fixing these. Maybe add them as a new option, and leave the old "Crab Cage Lamp"for those that like that one, or found use/appeal for it?
Just my 2 cents - but, ultimately, your the boss apple sauce!
Idea's about a New Pneumatic Tube System for ProjectRed
Since Pneumatic Tubes run usually on compressed air, (and you said you wanted to do something different than Redpower 2's Tubes) you could make your pneumatic tubes REAL pneumatics, by requiring that the system be "pressurized".
Hence, calling the system "Pressurized Tubes" or "Pressurized Pneumatic Tubes"
Here are my idea's for some new blocks, and some thoughts on Redpower items that should be added into Project Red.
New Items:
Basic Air Compressor - This unit can put out up to 25 Lbs of Pressure at a max of 25 blocks long.
(Single Block Structure 1x1x1) Internal Tank Size 100 PSI
Advanced Air Compressor - This unit can put out up to 50 Lbs of Pressure at a max of 50 blocks long.
(Multi Block Structure - 1x2x1) Internal Tank Size 200 PSI
Industrial Air Compressor - This unit can put out up to 100 Lbs of Pressure at a max of 100 blocks long.
(Multi Block Structure - 1x3x1) Internal Tank Size 400 PSI
- Each Compressor is universally powered and accepts RF or EU- Redstone Signal turns them on or Off, or can be set to Always on- It costs 1PSI per block per item to move.
Basic Pressurized Tank Buffer - This unit can put out up to 25 Lbs of Pressure at a max of 25 blocks long.
(Single Block Structure 1x1x1) Internal Tank Size 50 PSI
Advanced Pressurized Tank Buffer - This unit can put out up to 50 Lbs of Pressure at a max of 50 blocks long.
(Single Block Structure 1x1x1) Internal Tank Size 100 PSI
Industrial Pressurized Tank Buffer - This unit can put out up to 100 Lbs of Pressure at a max of 100 blocks long
(Single Block Structure 1x1x1) Internal Tank Size 200 PSI
Buffers can be placed anywhere in the system, and each side can be configured an IN our an OUT for multi IN/OUT connections. They have an internal storage that is kept pressurized by a bladder that inflates internally (like a balloon) and can OUTPUT that pressure back out to extend the range of an Air Compressor, but at a 5% loss/cost - meaning, for every pound of air that is put in, it will void 5% of that air as a cost to fill the bladder internally. To encourage their use, it is VERY cheap to craft a buffer, vs crafting any Air compressor unit. Building these will allow a user to extend their pressurized system longer, with no limit to how many they can have in the system. Best part is, they do not need any type of power to be connected and ran.
RedPower's Pneumatic Tube companion items that need to be adopted and act/look and function basically the same:
Pressurized Tube
Pressurized Restriction Tube
Pressurized Redstone Tube
Pressurized Redstone Restriction Tube
Pressurized Framed Tube
Pressurized Framed Restriction Tube
Pressurized Framed Redstone Tube
Pressurized Framed Redstone Restriction Tube
Transposer - Requires Redstone Signal Only
Filter - Requires Redstone Signal Only
Router - Requires Air Pressure Only
Item Detector/Counter
The Transposer and Filter are used for many things, not just with pneumatics Tubes, so they shouldn't require Air. If it were me, I would try to stick to the original design here as much as possible, because people understand and like its look, feel and use. imo. I actually installed BluePower ONLY for these two things, and thats it. Once ProjectRed has them, Good bye BluePower. The Transposer and Filter should also have an internal buffer that you can access in the GUI - the buffer is for bounced back items, and also add a new VOID option so if things get full in the return buffer of the Transposer or Filter, you can set it to void anything after it gets "X" amount in it. Simply Auto Voids it as an option.
The Router Unit is a much needed device and should have an internal GUI that allows you to route items the same way RedPowers did, except it doesn't run on Bluetricity, but instead Air Pressure. Redstone Signal can be applied to stop it. Also puts out a Redstone Signal to any Output Face allowing for more complex setups utilizing the Redstone Tubes that transmit redstone signals. Make sure they send a full 15 Signal. No signal loss in the redstone in the tubes. The Router should allow you to Paint Items and send them through the system to be routed. Items should only passed out of the router if there is something requesting the item(s) in it internal buffer. This is to avoid items simply bouncing around in the tubes.
All Tubes should be able to be painted with an Aerosol Spray Can for any of the 16 dyes colors. This allows for Routing. The Filter and Transposer should allow you to PAINT the item. (Who ever painted a tube with a "brush" anyway?)
The Item Detector/Counter is another critical device that we need to be able to automate things with ComputerCraft, etc.
The Item Detector/Counter simply puts out a redstone signal every time something goes through it. It also has an internal buffer that will hold items that bounce back, but wont increase the count or set off a redstone signal. It has an internal storage to accept stacks in a 3x3 grid. It won't accept more items into the internal storage until it uses the items in the buffer from bounced back items first.
Tools:
Pipe Wrench - Make it so any forge/IC2/Buildcraft wrench works, like the Omni Wrench from Redstone Arsenal Mod.
New Tools:
Pressure Gauge - Checks the PSI of the Tube its clicked on.
New Pressurized Tubes:
Pressurized VOID Tube: Does exactly what it says. It would be really nice to put one of these on the end of a restriction tube or other places. When things have nowhere to go, they can end up at the Void Tube as a last resort. Etc. It too can be painted. Redstone signal can disable it. Invert redstone with a SHIFT + Screw Driver.
New Pressurized Device for Tubes:
Pressurized Regulator: It has a GUI (Like IC2's Diamond Sorting Pipe) that allows you to set how much PSI should be allowed to pass through it. This allows you to send/restrict any amount of PSI going to any of its IN & OUTputs. (incase its used as an intersection Pipe... this will make sure you can send what you need to each section. Just like a REAL pneumatic system. It to can be painted and routes according to colors. Its a 1x1x1 sized Block Size. This device is different than a Router, because it has no internal storage or place to set a filter for items to be painted and filtered. It does not require redstone, only pressurized air.
These both should be offered in a Redstone version, so redstone signals can be passed through the Tube System accordantly.
Final thought:
All Machine/Devices that have a GUI should show the PSI flowing through it. This will help to aid diagnosing issues with PSI in the system.
One last thing. As an alternative (or companion) to using/making Air Buffers, You could make "Pressurized Air" count as a liquid and therefore utilize the forge system so air could be stored in any forge tank like steam is. This will allow people to use any tank system to buffer air, the same way they store steam in tanks, canisters, cells and bottles.
Eloraam has said on her Twitter feed that her mod is "the original and best" and didn't really approve of others that did the same.
I much prefer ProjectRed, however, and in the areas that it doesn't have RP2 stuff, for the most part, are functional in other mods anyway.
I really think its a shame that 10's of thousands of people use Project Red (FREE), and that Mr. TJP only has $38.50 combined from 10 patrons, and that Eloraam has $461.50 from 79 patrons! And thats PER MONTH!

CARLTON DANCE!
Incredible job!!! This opens so many more possibilities. THANK YOU!
I love the new look of the Cage Lamp... the glass and glow is exactly spot on!
The tubes... OMG!
And the lights attaching to the Framed wire... WOW WOW WOW! Do lamps and fixtures now attache to MFSU's and so forth from IC2?
