Limit? I added an option which sets the EV multiplier, so if you set the precision to 90% and EV multiplier to something like 4, then you won't drop below 1

Try redownloading the mod. Sometimes the file doesn't download stuff fully and that could cause crashing

just the mod i've been looking for! i've made some edits that fix certain values (arrows, books, hardened clay, haybales, etcetera) and replaced the emeralds in the crafting recipe with nether quartz (due to the mods i'm using, emeralds are made even rarer if not nonexistent.) i'm very much happy to see what is basically my favorite part of Equivalent Exchange back and updated for 1.6.2!
I've tried every pipe I can think of. I can easy put items into the box, i just want to know how to put energy directly into it. No energy cables/pipes seem to attach to it.

That's because other mods use different systems, and i haven't added any cables, so it's strictly impossible. Also, it's not the same type of energy as, for instance, buildcraft power.
The way it looks you can create a config file for different setups without knowing ids, has any one created one for the current 1.6 mods? For example values for like Dartcraft force gems and Twilight forest items etc.
