it's 32 bit. Do I need 64 bit or is there a way I can get it to work with 64 bit?
You shouldn't necessarily need 64x, Java 7 should work just fine despite that. If you can't get the launcher to work, there's always the manual installation option. http://www.aetherii.com/downloads

Okay lets "pretend" I have no idea what a mods folder is, how to find and put stuff into it, or how to make them work... could you explain it? I'm sorry I'm actually pretty new to Minecraft mods and this was the first one I've tried using because it really caught my eye despite being Alpha.

Not a problem, we really should put instructions back on the page... Luckily modding is much easier than it used to be.
1. Open your vanilla Minecraft launcher and run vanilla Minecraft 1.6.4 at least once before continuing.
2. Run the Forge installer and "install client".
This will create a new profile on your Minecraft launcher called "Forge". Run this profile to the main menu and quit.
1. Open the "Run" application on your computer. This can be found easily by opening the start menu and searching "Run".
2. Type this in the box: %appdata%
3. Open the ".minecraft" folder in the window that just opened.
There should be a "mods" folder in there. Download both the "aether.jar" and the "threadedlighting.jar" to that mods folder. Opening the "Forge" profile on your launcher should load in the Aether II now. You can grab all the downloads you need at http://www.aetherii.com/downloads

It can definitely bring performance improvements, but there shouldn't be any major issues between x32 and x64.

Yep that did it Thanks alot. I can't wait until this gets out of Alpha. For now it should be fun to mess around in a whole new level of the game. I'm a bit sad that my Vox Populi texture pack doesn't cover any of the new aether stuff. I love that texture pack.
I do with they have warned me that apparently stained glass was not in the 1.6.4 version of mine craft. Because it's not in the menu anymore and the stain glass room I spent a bit of time making is a bunch of glitched error blocks.
I used to play Minecraft a lot way back in the day and used mods like Zombe's Modpack and such. I guess the modders lost interest in the game so they kind of disappeared. It's a sad world

It really is, a lot of great mods have been left abandoned. Hopefully the Aether II will one day be well known as its predecessor.
This mod is amazing. Can't wait for the bug fixes, though. It crashes and conflicts with almost every mod I install. :/ Still, amazing work.
Update quite soon to fix some bugs. And if you're referring to ID conflicts, someone posted a handy mod a few pages back on this thread that resolves ID conflicts automatically.

Ah, okay, no prob then, I guess.
I looked at it and king refactored all of the original api classes into the actual mod, making it useless as an api. Well, it was worth a try anyways.

it will be, but 1.6.4 will get the update first. then it will update to 1.7 or 1.8
Some little snippets of the new biomes can be found in aermail.
It was in the Q&A of one of the first video Aermails, if I remember correctly, but we've left some small teasers throughout the series.
will there be a 1.6.4.2 update soon that will hopefully fix more bugs?
