If you're going to make a dungeon boss that spawns mobs until everyone's client lags to hell and becomes unplayable, why not just include a free rake with each download, so we can all sit on it and get screwed by bad game design?
Please give Sentry Guardians a spawn limiter on their adds. It's ruined dungeon running for any sort of multiplayer server.

I have a question. On the main menu, is it possible to set what music plays by default?
Nevermind, figured it out. I have to use one of the Minecraft menus.
Hey there, was wondering if the skybox portals and the GUI for players is at all compatible with that of Galacticraft? or are these two mods incompatible by nature?
EDIT: I just checked the topic a little more thoroughly and found that this has been asked a lot. Sorry. Still, I will keep watch incase such compatibility ever develops.
Question, how do you install everything with the new minecraft launcher and folders, because I no longer have a bin folder
Hoo, boy. Better start typin'.
First, go into your "versions" folder in your .minecraft folder. Find the 1.5.1 version folder. Copy that folder, but keep it in the versions folder. Then, rename the copy to something else. For this example, "1.5.1Aether". Rename the copy to that. IF YOU WANT TO NAME IT SOMETHING ELSE, MAKE SURE THAT YOU NAME EVERYTHING ELSE IN THIS TUTORIAL THAT SAYS 1.5.1AETHER TO THE SAME THING.
Then, open up the 1.5.1Aether folder. There should be 2 files: 1.5.1.jar, and 1.5.1.json. Rename these to 1.5.1Aether.jar and 1.5.1Aether.json. Open up the .json file with notepad. There should be a lot of random text, but look at the beginning of the first line. You should see a spot that says "1.5.1". Replace that with "1.5.1Aether". DO NOT REMOVE THE QUOTES AROUND IT. Then save and close the .json.
After that, install Forge, Player API, and Render Player API like you would normally do onto the 1.5.1Aether.jar file. Run the Minecraft Launcher.
In the top right of the launcher, click "New Profile". Set the name to something (it doesn't matter what you name it). Open the "versions" dropdown list and select "1.5.1Aether". Then click save. Run Minecraft on that profile to make sure everything is working. Then close Minecraft.
Go back to your .minecraft folder. You should notice that Forge created a lot more folders, including a "mods" folder. Place the Aether's .zip file in there. Then run Minecraft on the new profile again.
If it works, congratulations! You've installed the Aether correctly. If it fails, you probably missed something in this tutorial.
Two things to note, though:
1. The "mods" folder is shared throughout profiles. A few things that could happen with other versions being used:
WITH FORGE:
If the version is 1.5.1, it will use the Aether.
If the version is NOT 1.5.1, it may crash the game or ignore the mod.
WITHOUT FORGE:
If the version does not have forge installed, it will ignore the "mods" folder completely.
2. If you are not using separate folders for each profile (you can set what folders profiles use when editing the profile), then worlds may have some problems. Make sure that if you're NOT using a 1.5.1 Forge profile that you do NOT open a world with Aether content on it. Doing this could result in the deletion of all of your Aether items, the portal, and the entire Aether dimension itself (in that world).
I have downloaded and reinstalled it exactly like everyone told me to several times using Minecraft's new launcher, and I even did the same with MagicLauncher. I have figured out that when I put the Aether II Alpha v1.02 in the Mods folder, I get a black screen (like I didn't delete MET-INF, but I did-but not the Forge one which you're supposed to leave in). Which I run Minecraft without the Aether ZIP in the Mods folder, the game works fine (no black screen). When I used MagicLauncher, the Aether ZIP said that there were no mods founds. What do I do??

Are you sure you're using 1.5.1?
Are you sure you have Player API AND Player Render API both installed?
Did you try my tutorial on the page before this one?
The Aether 2 zip file needs to be extracted to the .minecraft folder before it can be played. Also make sure to install Player api and Render Player api into the minecraft jar file.
What? No. This is a forge mod. Forge mods go into a mods folder. You don't extract Forge mods.
Can anyone help, I'm using Aether 2 1.0.2 with optifine, but whenever optifine is enabled, all aether block and item (no problems with mobs and particles) are replaced with the 1.5 "Missing texture" texture.
After I install Forge, Player API, and Render Player API on the new launcher, I get an error saying, "Gave up trying to download https://s3.amazonaws.com/Minecraft.Download/versions/1.5.1 Aether/1.5.1 Aether.jar for job 'Version & Libraries'Job 'Version & Libraries' finished with 1 failure(s)!". I tried installing them all separately to see if it was just one, but it happened every time. Then I just extracted the .jar, and I realized it would only happen if the .jar was a folder. So, I installed everything again, compressed it, made a new .jar file, and it still didn't work. I've never had any problems with mods before, so I'm not too sure what's happening, as I deleted the META-INF and changed the .jar and .json files. If there's any fix to this that anyone knows of, I would be very appreciative. I'm on a Mac too, if that would help anything.

Thank you SO very much, it very much did help, now I can play the Aether mod

I did use your tutorial, that's how I know it's 1.5.1. I have both installed, and I tried cleaned installed where I tried installing Player first and then when I tried installing Player Render first...it's still a black screen when I put the aether 2 in the mods folder. Only thing I can think of is 1.5.1 didn't download correctly? Or I don't know...it's making me really mad >.>
EDIT: IT WORKS!!! I think it was because I redownloaded a different version of Forge (there are several 1.5.1 universal FML's, lol).
Installation !!With the new launcher!! (Sorry if the mac bit is wrong, I use windows) 1) Click "New Profile" 2) Select "1.5.1" in the "Use Version" line. Name the profile 1.5.1 Then press save. (Make sure to select the profile at the top before moving on!) 3) Enter your login infomation and press play, once everything has started press Quit Game. 4) Navigate your way to your .minecraft (Goto your start bar, and enter %appdata%) **FOR MAC** Click 'Go' on your top bar, then 'Go to folder...' Type "~/Library/Application Support/" 5) Find your way to Versions, then copy your 1.5.1 folder, and rename it "Aether", go into that folder and rename 1.5.1 both the 1.5.1 folders to "Aether" 6) Enter the "Aether.json" folder and change the ""ID": 1.5.1"," Line to ""id": "Aether"," 7) Open up the launcher, go to "New Profile" name it Aether, select the version "Aether" 8) You do not need to run the game, unless you want to, then do so. Go back into versions folder, and then Aether, open up Aether.jar with WinRAR/Any zip opener. 9) Download Forge (Just click that ) 10) Download PlayerAPI + PlayerRenderAPI 11) Download Aether II 12) I hope you haven't shut Aether.jar. Delete META-INF in there, and open forge.zip then put it into it. Open PlayerAPI and PlayerRenderAPI and put them both into aether.jar (PlayerAPI first) 13) Open minecraft launcher, and run the profile Aether. Everything should generate. Press quit game once everythings done. 14) Go to the main the .minecraft file, go into mods file. Drag and drop the AetherII File into there, do not unzip or anything. If anything is wrong, or it doesn't work message me. I couldn't test everything here, as MinecraftForge download is down. (This is how I usually do it though) FYI if everything is totally not understandable, its because I was tired when I typed this.
I followed these instructions exactly and I still get the same error as before. By the way, love the GIF, never seen that one before

The old Aether was never updated to 1.5.1. It is EXTREMELY old, and it was stopped in development sometime around MC 1.7 Beta.
