I'm using MC 1.7.10, Growable Ores 2.2.0 and Mekanism 8.1.2.229. I know there is a newer version of Mekanism, but I haven't updated it yet. Do you know if that version was incompatible? I have installed Metallurgy now, so I can grow copper and tin (Osmium isn't supported by your mod anyway, is it?).
Try using the latest version of Growable Ores. I think that might fix your problem.
Which mods are the steel ore and titanium ore from?
Steel ore is being added by AOBD(Steel Ore) and Nether ores adds nether iron pig ore which also smelts to steel. Titanium is Mariculture and Galacticraft(Ilmenite, texture for that reed is fine).
Any chance of this mod being updated to 1.8 or 1.8.9 any time soon? I really wanna use this with my little private mod pack that is updated for 1.8.9 right now. Thanks!

the mod author already implemented a dynamic ore detection system based on the Ore Dictionary so as long as the ore is registered in the Ore Dictionary a recipe and a reed will be automatically created for and that in my opinion is more than enough.
if you want Nevermine 2's ore reeds go add each ores to the Ore Dictionary using MineTweaker (super easy) manually then and only if you even bothered doing it please share the script file
The generic steel (not shadow steel or anything like that) is showing a default missing textures, texture. The recipe's involved are 8 reeds > refined iron ingot (Industrial craft 2), 8 reeds > steel ingot (railcraft, immersive engineering, tinkers' construct, metallurgy 4, solar expansion, & Mekanism). I attempted to fix this myself though a resource pack by adding a texture file called "oreGrowableSteel" but it was unsuccessful. There is also no texture in the Jar file either as far as I can tell.
All the Hexorium reeds from hexcraft are missing any sort of detailing coloration or texture at all and look like a blank ore reed texture. I was also unable to locate any texture for Hexorium reeds in the Jar file.
